50 Cent – Playground (Book Cover)

Clifford isn’t the only rap star “writing” fictional novels these days. Here goes the cover to Curtis’ upcoming book that hits shelves (and Kindles) on November 1st.

Thirteen-year-old Butterball doesn’t have much going for him. He’s teased mercilessly about his weight. He hates the Long Island suburb his mom moved them to and wishes he still lived with his dad in the city. And now he’s stuck talking to a totally out-of-touch therapist named Liz.

Liz tries to uncover what happened that day on the playground – a day that landed one kid in the hospital and Butterball in detention. Butterball refuses to let her in on the truth, and while he evades her questions, he takes readers on a journey through the moments that made him into the playground bully he is today.

This devastating yet ultimately redemptive story is told in voice-driven prose and accented with drawings and photographs, making it a natural successor to The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian.

Loosely inspired by 50 Cent’s own adolescence, and written with his fourteen-year-old son in mind, Playground is sure to captivate wide attention – and spark intense discussion.

  1. I would read this. I think 50 actually might have something meaningful to say in this book.

  2. Good for 50! Definitely one of the most respectable rappers out.

  3. 50′s acts of selflessness (especially when it comes to children) lately have been so inspiring. I love hearing about all of the positive things he’s doing; it’s a welcomed change from the negative depictions of him folks seem to love so much. His initiative to feed 1 million children is AMAZING! Keep shining 50!

  4. His positive work gets much less attention than anything else he does. Says something about the world we live in….

  5. I lump books by rappers in with (most) books by athletes, movie stars, and other musical artists. They are almost all bad. On top of that they are almost all not written by the alleged author. Everyone on earth has better things to do then read a book by 50 Cent.

  6. Career aint poping…..write a book! #newageofrap

  7. ^he has not been focused on rapping for a while he is makin money from everything (books, headphones, being with mayweather) u dumb

  8. I’ma pick it up. I’ve read some of his other books that have his name on it. “Derelict” “Baby Brother” “Blow” and his auto-biography. And they really aren’t bad

  9. My boy Fif, with the Coogi sweater. I ain’t mad at him, though. Do ya thang, Fif.

  10. Yo put Curtis Jackson on the audiobook and I’ll buy it

  11. 50 is doing big things! Way to be positive brother!

  12. I’ve always respected 50′s work ethic. Even when I wasn’t feeling his music.

My favorite 50 album is Guess Who’s Back. But he’s done so many things in his life, I respect that shit.

  13. Reales shit i ever read “His positive work gets much less attention than anything else he does. Says something about the world we live in….” from Def Jam !!!!

  14. It seems like a pretty good book I might have to check it out on the Kindle
