It’s a bit difficult to wrap my head around how fast time has passed; it’s been two years since we lost two more greats from the Hip-Hop community. Ajile Turner was a big figure (with an even bigger heart) within the New York Hip-Hop promotions scene, Common’s cousin as well as personal friend of mine who we lost tragically on Sept. 18th, a day before Roc Raida left us physically. Grandmaster Roc Raida, who passed on Sept. 19th, was one of the main figures, along with the rest of the X-Ecutioners crew, who influenced me into getting into DJing. Although I was trash at scratching, I highly admired those guys and followed their careers since they went by the X-Men and battled the Invisibl Skratch Piklz. Rest In Power to both of those good brothas.

Jungle Brothers – How Ya Want It (Roc Raida Rmx)
E. Bros (Wayne-O & Roc Raida) – Funky Piano (prod. Roc Raida)

Thanks for bringing this around and reminding me of the passing of these great individuals. Personally, I had the opportunity to meet Roc Raida a year before his passing. He played a set for an instore for maybe 35 people at a record store in Vancouver. It was awesome to be right beside him as he laid down his cuts. Everyone has a genre icon that means something to them, Roc Raida was 1 for me. Rest in Power to a pioneering dj, a loving & honorable father & a respectful human being (if u ever met him you would feel the same). Peace..
