I don’t know. Maybe this style of music just isn’t made for me. But each and every one of my associates who fall into the categories of both “white” and “stoner” always suggest/bump shit like this. Mod Sun, Mac Miller, Sam Adams. So, basically, meaningless white stoners suggest music by vapid white stoners. I’d at least like to hear some originality in the flow or content; that’s why I can fux with dem Jets

Pondering man, how is this not original? Just Go listen to all that other money clothes and hoes stuff cause that’s soo original ain’t it?
JLee said this on September 19th, 2011 at 12:42 pm
Pondering man. Keep bumping dem jets you faggot. Mod Sun is one of the most original artists making music to this day. To lump him into a category with two artists that are nothing lile him isn’t right at all. Know what the fuck you’re talking about before you say stupid shit lile that

@ JLee & Kyle — I don’t know what made you think I “listen to all that other money clothes and hoes stuff.” Why would I even peep this track if that’s what I fucked with; what would draw me to this cut? I’m sure I listen to the same “real hip-hop” you do; I just can’t vibe with this kinda stuff. It doesn’t appeal to me. But I still stand by what I said. Maybe this shit is dope for you if you, but I’d rather bump money clothes & hoes in the whip than this; and I’d rather listen to rappers with soul — imagine that — and creativity in my headphones.
Now, when I said original, you misinterpreted what I meant. I wasn’t referring directly to subject matter — although that, too, isn’t exactly an A+ on Mod Sun’s report card — but to flow and delivery. That’s where the Mac Miller and Sam Adams comparison came from. All three of these emcees use basic flows and schemes to spit over some cheerful ass bunnies-in-the-garden type of beat.
Kyle, being a gentleman, called me a faggot for liking Spitta. (I should note I’m not a Curren$y Stan but was simply making a comparison within Stoner Rap between an artist with — IMO — merit and one without it.) But you have to look at what he brings to the table against what Mod is doing — and has been doing on the incessant leaks flooding this site. Spitta mixes up the flows on smooth, funky ass beats. He has quotables from time to time. Mod uses one of four flows, and while his beats can frequently be the best part of the song, that doesn’t make them fire. They’re smooth, but most of them seem lifeless; like something that would be used on a godawful Katy Perry crossover record.
Now, I am simply a pondering man, and I am open to being disproved. If either of you two (or anybody else reading, for that matter) have links to something proving Mod Sun can spit, I’ll redact my statement. But, as I stated in my original thesis, I don’t believe that this music is something I can fux with. Actually, after listening to this again, I now have to bump Supreme Clientele in its entirety to wash all the cultureless rap out of my system.

PonderingMan- I’m a total opposite of a stoner. And I support Mod because he says what he feels, and his music promotes positivity and not just BS like how important money and chicks are. I don’t think it’s fair to sterotype all of the people who listen to him to such a small group.
I’m ready for 9/22 so I can hear this whole record!

@Pondering Man
You’d rather listen to rappers with soul? You must not know who Mod Sun is. Please listen to some of his other songs “Same Way”, “Highly Motivated”, “I Do It”, “Keep it Movin” and look back on what you said. You ain’t even know what he’s all about. Mod Sun is driven by positivity and happiness. Something a lot of other “rappers” don’t fuck with.. He’s got more soul than all of these other cats he’s [compared] to. This dude is married to his music. Dedicated just ain’t the word. It’s hippy hop, a whole other genre he’s produced and introduced. Regardless if you fuxx with it or not, he’s still movin’ on up!
9/22* hurry up and get here.

schoolboy q impressed me on this one, switched up his flow a few times and came with some dope lyrics instead of relying on the beat to carry his verse.
