after listening to j. cole’s album, i have lost hope in his ability to change the game.
that playing the game to change it… doesnt make sense for a person that fans and he himself push to be an elite rapper with classic material.
this man peaked at the warm up. gave you fodder on fnl. and dropped one gem out 8 potential singles, from who dat, to bad girls club, to mr. nice watch.
j. cole shows himself to be an artist experimenting with mainstream sound, and unlike b.o.b. he lacks the musicianship to make a hit.
he should have just stuck to what got him recognition. and that was the warm up material. that is the mixtape that defines cole at his best. everything else is erratic like a collage on the track.
with that said, i expect him to sell 100K plus. anything less is a failure for a man striving for mainstream solidification.

I hope this guy debut is good or else he can rap it up. It’s too much hype for a freshman album and on top of that shit he was the first artist signed to Jays label. This album will most likely predict his career and Jays ability to manage an artist. I wish the nigga the best of luck though cause the mixtapes he drop were all dope.
