Here is one of my hip-hop dreams:
Max B gets out of jail. He makes an album; Araabmuzik produces it. The overall waviness this record would create would — if my calculations are correct, which I believe they are — actually manifest itself in the physical form of cocaine. Every time any song from the LP was played, another gram of white would suddenly enter into our realm. Eventually, coke would be so abundant that the dealing industry behind it would crumble. With more and more people using the free white as either nose candy or material for crack, a plethora of dealers would be forced to engage in lighter distribution (or become assassins for hire). With seasoned veterans of the drug game — accustomed to pushing some of the most dangerous (in both the law enforcement and physical sense) substances — now venturing into the more mainstream areas of narcotics (mainly pills and weed), the dealer climate across America would dramatically change. Now, softies largely involved in just selling some pot (maaan), would be forced to venture into other areas of the market. The result would be an abundance of hallucinogens and psychoactive drugs not seen since Woodstock. The use of these drugs (shrooms, LCD, PCP) would cause a drastic shift in the overall American psyche, which would in turn influence the rest of the world. As a new mantra and state of mind emerged, class warfare would break out amongst the old ways — comprised of drinkers and straight-edge — and the new — people who are tripping balls — ending with a geopolitical landscape virtually unidentifiable to an observer of today. This would usher in new systems of economics, comprehensions of ethics, and ability to communicate with fellow citizens of the planet.
Too bad he’s never getting out of jail.
