J. Cole – Cosmic Kev Freestyle (Video)

Speaking of Cosmic Kev, J. Cole took a crack at his freestyle segment also. In related news, Cole is having a listening party tonight at New York’s Santos Party House. I’d attend, but as soon as I read that they’re snatching up cell phones at the door the way rapists are snatching up Antoine Dodson’s sister I decided otherwise.

  1. Where’s his drop for yesterday’s “Any Given Sunday” promo?

    Lame.

  2. thats pretty gay meka? im sure theyd give you it back and if they didnt then you could always just leave it at home

  3. ^ he clearly just wasnt invited

  4. he killed it but these were verses from the album , not a freestyle

  5. ^^ No rapper actually freestyles on these radio things and those very rare times that they do it sounds like they’re retarded. You can watch 100 of these radio freestyles and 98 of them are actual verses from songs.

  6. The last copule verses were from Neverland and Heavy…not from the album.

  7. Meka can I get ya invite then? Lol

  8. i was real blown away at how good the raps was sounding till he said this album shit! and i recognized the preheated/defeated line..oh well

  9. Heard all these except the first verse, probably off an old song too … Wish he went in on that otis beat shii

  10. This just proves that he needs to stop producing his own shit and get better producers because even though they were lines from the album he sounded real dope on those beats.

  11. @idoitboii

cosign. dude needs to get over himself and his own production. Especially after this album I really hope he decides to explore his options and use other producer’s beats cause he sounds real fresh on them. Kanye is a unique artists and artists like him don’t come around too easily. I’m a big j. cole fan but if he wants to grow as an artist (like he says), he should really explore his options to look at other producers. I’m just sayin…

  12. LOL AT MEKA FOR BEING SCARED TO LEAVE HIS CELL PHONE IN THE CAR FOR A FEW HOURS !!!!!

  13. fuck this nigga and his wack recycle freestyle rhymes. we heard them joints already, every emcee has a back-up rhyme book in their brain generator if they get put on the spot. the nigga is all uncomfortable and shit spittin’ like he really didn’t have to do this shit. nigga if you’re this high level wordsmith rapper you make yourself out to be than you better represent with skills. fuck all that BS about “that’s all yall get”. if niggaz really wanna know how you broke your leg, it’s because you’ve been half steppin’ from the jump.

if this nigga leg is broke, it’s probably the only promotional stunt rocnation has left for this nigga’z album. this nigga didn’t even drop his ANY GIVEN SUNDAY series last night. if he didn’t have anything to show for like music or a video he could of just released his x-rays. there’s no bye weeks in hip hop and this nigga put himself on injured reserve two weeks before his album drops. the tour dates cancellations is bitch weak too. you’re not a tap dancer, circus de soleil performer or trampoline jump tester. you’re a rapper who holds a mic for an hour and 45 mins. rocnation hospital couldn’t prescribe crutches or a wheelchair? listen, I’m not trying to make fun if this nigga leg is really broke. I just feel rappers today are using the rappers getting shot angle as the new rappers broken leg album promotional stunt of 2011.

    A. HOLE YOU PAPOOSED YOURSELF!!!©

  14. let me get one of those shirts though…

  15. Cosmic Kev was having an orgasm as Cole went in.

“claim your a monster, but your ain’t rowlin’, claim your a beast but your ain’t howlin’, bout as sweet as a jumper on a gay Ray Allen” hahahaha

  16. HE DID KILL THAT IM A BOSS BEAT!!! NYC/BROOKLYN STFU U FAGGOT

    COLE WORLD

  17. cosmic got the gayest laugh LMAO

  18. Sean ripped that shit better

  19. Although I already knew that he recycled those verses, I dead loved how he sounded on those beats with those lines especially on the I’m A Boss beat.

  20. Im from philly and I heard this live, in the interview portion he said theres still a possibilty his album gets pushed back, anf that he still making decision of what to put on a album I wush2dopeboyz woulf put up the interview

  21. EYY ATTENTION PEOPLE, TODAY (sep.13th) It has gone 15 years since the biggest figure in rap/hiphop history passed away. 2dope show your respect. peace im out RIP 2pac

  22. Chill Kev. How many bars you expecting? Cole was already mad generous. Stop grilling him for more.

  23. phillyjohnny, how long ago was that though?

  24. DOPE!! no matter what this was dope!… kid cudi on dj enuff, real ass freestyle! kills it cudi style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qo6XWe4itPI&feature=player_embedded

  25. How has J. Cole Papoosed himself if Papoose never even released a full length retail album???? Idiot.

  26. Co-sign w/ idoitboii. I didn’t even care for Heavy & Neverland, but with on that instrumental, I was bobbin’ my head real hard

  27. Can one of you please explain to me why it’s a problem that he produces his own tracks? I personally see it as a better fit for him because it give it a more personal effect. Afterall, isn’t it his rhymes/album and not everyone else’s?

  28. This dudes next up , he gots a message http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ght69asIN_M

  29. Meka you OHH Deeed “they’re snatching up cell phones at the door the way rapists are snatching up Antoine Dodson’s sister” … that’s fucked up

  30. @fakirwise it’s not that it’s a bad thing but sometimes you need to be placed out of your comfort zone to see how u would react. He reacted well on these tracks and sounded great. J.Cole is dope but sometimes his beats put me to sleep personally. And of course it’s a better fit for him he is producing it for himself.

  31. download this freestyle here http://hulkshare.com/h232se0x1lpr

  32. Aye Cmon meka/shake make a tribute post for the lyrical poet 2pac…its been 15 years of empty meaningless raps since his departure to gangsta paradise

  34. @yerper it was friday

  35. okay i’m convinced. maybe Cole World will be on that warm up shit after all.

  36. Can we stop talking about freestyles being verses. We know. You know. That’s how shit works now. Rappers wana sound good 100% of the time especially infront of the media.

  37. J.Cole broke his leg and pushed back his world tour

  38. damn i’m pretty sure he was goin off the top on that first beat. he was losing air as ooposed to when he spit the regulars and he knew where to breathe. Damn Cole learning some new shit! these other new niggas better catch up

  39. He murdered that I’m a boss beat. I just wish his album is gonna have beats like that. Well this prolly won’t cuz it’s self-produced but some Jahlil Beats won’t do him any harm.

  40. I dont understand the hype behind this dude. Hes decent at best. Is it because he sigbed with jay-z? To be honest im wayyy more interested in hearin jay electronicas album over this cornballs shit. Thats just me though

  41. Nice!

  42. people still talking about freestyles being pre-written verses in 2011. WOW… acting like you’re exposing shit. WE FUCKING KNOW! WE JUST DONT CARE! Freestyle hasnt been literal since 1993. it just means impromptu rapping. Get the fuck over it. You’re not exposing anybody! You’re not onto some shit we dont already know. STOP IT!

  43. 100s of haters no album out http://bit.ly/pA2ANK

  44. dope shit.

gotta feel good to be a dj when you that cool and holding that much power… haha

  45. “Got 150 bitches in the club starring at me, how that feel….very happy”

lmao this shit was alright. Im hoping this dude will have some tough beats like this on the album, nigga goes in on them

  46. CLASSIC

  47. just take a look at the recent comments NYC/BROOKLYN did on j.cole song (bottom left). he must be the greatest j.cole bandwagon rider.
