XV is definitely killing shit this week like lyrically, this is some great ass work. The beats are so well done, not the best XV type of stuff but pretty good. My only problem was this Trae Tha Truth…he kind of killed the song in a bad way. It was still good though, The Kick’s been the best of the three in my opinion.

Very smart from him to wait till the J.Cole Hype is on its Maximum to put out some dope stuff. He will be the next super-hyped rapper i guess. But this is what we need. Cole and XV songs will never be boring like Wiz because they have a story to tell, not just something to roll up..
for some reason i think it had more to do with him finishing touring then J. Cole. And Cole’s hype won’t hit a max until Cole WOrld comes out anyway.

Honestly, Vizzy’s got some of the most intelligent and analytical rhymes compared to most new schoolers. Imo people get hype twisted up and become biased because all the “best” new schoolers have major backing from the likes of Jay, Kanye, Wayne, etc. People like those emcees, so naturally, most of them are gonna be biased toward cats that come up under their wing…like “oh, Jay likes him so he must be good” or “oh Wayne likes him so he must be the best new thing out”
I GUARANTEE you if the case were that Vizzy was signed under Young Money or the like…with the EXACT same songs…EXACT same lyrics, there would be far less “oh this guy sucks” comments…

Yeah, it SEEMS basic when you read it, but I’m sure it would go over a BIG percent of mainstream fans heads and even some Hip Hop Heads. If you listened to The Kick and the other song, you’ll easily find that XV has lyrics for days.

But i don’t relate to any of them. they just rap really good. XV does that and i can relate to him. His wordplay is up to par on every track and he has a bunch of mixtapes to prove it.

I agree with “kid with a black backpack”. Vizzy’s lines are dope, not only that he’s relatable. If you don’t like him, fine. But dude is mad creative and I can see him changing the game.
So you can’t relate to Kendrick, Big K.R.I.T., or J. Cole, but you can relate to XV? Y’all need to chill with that nonsense. I’ve been listening to XV since Complex Experiment and now he just seems to sound like everyone else. He stood out in his earlier years. He still has his lane (nerdy, comic book, backpack, porn rapper), but his delivery has changed a lot. I still think he is one of the best up and comers, especially on songs like “The Kick”. This song is cool, but nothing special. If your going to say Kendrick, Krit, and J. Cole aren’t relatable your just talking out of your ass. All those artists make real music that is not only relatable, but stands out. XV is making good music, but I think the ppl that don’t like him, don’t because his music already has that mainstream Pop sound. XV’s image is actually more unique than his music because I know 10 rappers that have the same subject matter. XV didn’t create video game metaphors or instrumentals.

If you know Donavan personally – you’ll know he’s a HUGE hip-hop/music head…and Mr. Wiz Dick Rider above me doesn’t know that Vizzy has been working with Scoremore (who organizes various tours in and around TX) out in Texas for the LONGEST time (yes…since WAY BEFORE Wiz worked with Trae) and that the last couple times Vizzy’s been down to TX, he hasn’t been able to hit a couple of cities down there due to illness, scheduling conflicts, etc. So when Scoremore offered him the opportunity to hop on a Texas tour again, of course he’s gonna jump on it since he’s got a lot of savvy fans down there….that possibility just happened to occur to where he was ON TOUR WITH TRAE….so WHY THE HELL WOULDN’T HE WORK WITH HIM AND MAKE A SONG?!?!?! Vizzy’s done that with ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE he’s gone on tour with already…pull our head out of your ass “smh” and get your facts straight…ignant ass nigga
