Live At the BBQ f. Akinyele, Joe Fatal & Large Professor
Nasir held court live on stage yesterday at Rock the Bells on Governor’s Island, where he brought along some legends who had a hand in jump starting his career. Up top, he performs Live At the BBQ with Akinyele, Large Pro and Joe Fatal, while down bottom you can peep performances of Nas Is Like, The World Is Yours, It Ain’t Hard to Tell, Represent, Back To the Grill and more. For those who attended, what were the highlight(s) of the show in your opinion? RR and Dabel Grave.
Back To the Grill f. MC Serch
Represent
It Ain’t Hard To Tell
Nas Is Like
If I Ruled the World f. Lauryn Hill
Hate Me Now
Made You Look

Best part of the Nas show? Hands down having Live At The BBQ performed in its entirety. Not sure if that will ever happen again. Hearing Back to the Grill Again with Serch there was pretty dope too.
ya’ll gotta check out Drew Howard, he worked with D-Pryde who opened up for J. Cole during this Canada Leg of the tour:

Highlight of the night was Raekwon performing OB4CL with Ghostface and Cappadonna
Wow. As much as I respect Nas and he’s one of my favorites… Shit aint changed STILL since I saw him in 1993 with Gangstarr, Jeru and MOP – He STILL can’t find a competent hype man that can back him up in the correct spots. I mean WHAT THE FUCK. This dude just can’t get it together for a live show.
You guys never posted that song by Gilbere Forte’ that came out Aug. 18!
black moon had mad energy and did they thing. mobb deep tore it down. temperature rising was craaazy, i was hoping they woulda kicked it off with ‘start of your ending’ but no luck. nas had an ill set that was made to look like outside the qb houses and put benches out front so his boys could sit, makin it look like he just spittin in front of the projects. but it all came together when he brought out lauryn hill for if i ruled the world. shit was mad live..
rock the bells was insane in general. nas’ set closed the whole day perfectly.
Damn haven’t heard the name akinyele in a while

^^^LMAO, real talk man… the few live performances i seen of his just aint what i would expect from him… he needs a good hypeman ferreal

True shit.
It seems that he can’t flow the way he wants. Many times per song he just stopped rapping random words and syllables from his sentences hoping to get the crowd to rap it for him, but it didn’t sound great
The whole set was CRAZY !! To have Pete Rock and premiere there and then them beat battle and deff live at the bbq and if I ruled the worlds
Ms Hill sucked. Period. only time I’ve ever said thank god for pras. he saved her bum ass set.
Black Moon Was the best hands down
Mobb Deep tore it down, good way to end it with Nas and Immortal Tech’s performance was ridiculous…but wat about that bullshit ferry ride we all had to take back which took about 2 hours!!!
Hell yeah that Ferry bullshit sucked. Everyone was mad tired/high and there wasn’t any music playing for the first time all day so I thought people were about to start going crazy, trapped on fcking island hahah.
Black Star’s performance was one of the best I’ve seen. Felt like I was in church.
^^^^^ YEAH i’m damn glad i got out of there fast when Nas finished. got on a ferry right away. but there just wasn’t enough access to the boats for everyone. must have sucked ass.
i thought Big KRIT was great, he had a decent-size crowd considering the acts he was competing with for attention. really showed what he can do in only a 40-min set.
I think Erykah Badu was the best hands down. I got goosebumps. I saw women crying. It was on another level. Honorable mention to Black Star (especially Mos Def) and Black Moon. A lot of artists that showed up are even better live than they are on cd, Nas isn’t one of them. And sadly Lauryn no longer has a voice.
93 ‘Til Inifity. Best performance of the day.
