I’m more of a Wayne fan… but I ain’t gonna lie, Watch The Throne was a better album than Carter IV is. Then again, this is my first playthrough… and I’m only really halfway through listening to the CD. BUT… it is a great album, a must cop if you’re a fan of Wayne’s current works. Production is bananas and the lyrics are obviously filled with punchlines galore… not to mention, the features are on point so far.

YES PLEASE. That would honestly be amazing. It would have to be someone super respected and already in the game though, or else they’d just be crushed (not lyrically/musically, literally) and we would never hear from them again. So yeah, pretty much leaves like Nas. Game (best diss rapper in the game, You Know What It Is Vol.3 /nuff said) + Nas collab album, 15 different diss tracks each towards a different rapper. Would be amazing.
When the HAM song first drop, Wayne was interviewed I think on MTV with Sway about the situation and Wayne simply said I would not start beef with Jay if anything I would plat off of it. Those lines he just spit was a hell of a play but I’m not going to buy into it because neither one has anything to lose or gain from the situation. If it is beef though it’s great for Wayne especially if he can hold his own, but I doubt if this shit gets to serious.

Am I the only one who likes C4? I’m not even a Wayne fan, but I think 13 out of 18 tracks are dope. There is a couple of average tracks and then a couple of wack tracks. Overall though I thought it was his best stuff in a long time and it’s better than WTT. Some of his lyrics are silly, but I think he was just having fun on this album. I like the production more than anything, but yeah this album is good.

I don’t think Tha Carter 4′s bad, but it’s not great either. The songs are all gloriously average and it sounds more like a decent mixtape to me. As for people saying it’s a classic – please. The term ‘classic’ puts it up there with Illmatic, Reasonable Doubt, Ready to Die, Strictly Business, It Takes a Nation, etc. It’s a 3/5 album, no higher.
The best song on the album’s ‘Nightmares of the Bottom’ by a long shot.
