[The Tens] 10 Hip Hop Collaborations Albums We Wish Would Happen

With the rest of the East Coast spazzing out over this recent earthquake (the Angeleno in me wasn’t even fazed in the slightest), the folks over at TheWellVersed dropped their latest edition of “The Tens” featuring collabo projects they hoped would become a reality.

Now that Watch The Throne has brought our dreams of a super collaboration between Kanye West and Jay-Z into fruition, it has us now contemplating all of the possibilities for future collaborative efforts. After a lot of thought, TWV came up with ten hip-hop collaborations that we wish could somehow happen. Hopefully we spark up an idea for at least one of these to happen.

What are your own ideal collaboration albums?

  1. A Native Tongue’s Family Re-Union featuring, ATCQ, De La Soul, Queen Latifa and Jungle Brothers. We need this to happen

  2. Yo check beats, just trying to make good music. Always open for collabs if you with it. http://www.soundcloud.com/clarkKENTtheSP and follow me in twitter @OGkae fuck lames and people who talk to damn much. Get at me and make moves

  3. Cee Lo & Andre 3000 from 98

  4. Nas & Common , Elzhi & Crooked I , Lupe & Andre 3000 , Busta Rhymes & Twista (all uptempo beats)

  5. drake better have more than one 9th wonder beat on his new album

  6. ^^we’ll be lucky if ANY 9th Wonder beats are on here

  7. i’m still waiting on the Jay & Nas album…

  8. lol @ waiting on a Jay & Nas album…you can take that wish into your grave homeboy cuz that ain’t neva happenin. If it was it shouldve happened right after the beef. Not anymore, time has changed, so have both rappers. I want a Crooked I & Kendrick combo. That would be hella dope.

  9. J. Cole x Kendrick Lamar! That’s the fucking album I’m waiting for.

  10. kendrick x ab-soul
    curren$y x freddie gibbs
    jay electronica x blu
    elzi x danny brown
another legit j dilla x madlib

  11. since kendrick like kid cudi music & compares it to compton music I WANNA SEE A KENDRICK & KID CUDI ALBUM!!!! or at least a track by the two.

  16. crooked i & game would be sick…so would a s.a.s & jada & styles p album

  17. lil b & 50 tyson.

  18. Game & 50 Cent in their heyday, that could’ve been epic.

  19. nas & common, mos def, az, or black thought. any of those would be dope.

  20. Jay-Z and Biggie, their chemistry was crazy.

  21. I’m still waiting for Lynwood Rose, since it never really technically happened (Tip, Saadiq, and Voodoo guy). I’d settle for Tip and Common, also talked about.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Cole and Jay Elec doing big things together with Jay kind of sitting on both.

As far as mainstream goes, I think Ludacris and Tyrese could make a lot of money doing an album together. And Tyrese is dying to make some hits, which Luda would help him get. It’s too bad TGT will probably never make an album together either

  22. im still waiting for center edge territory (stalley x spitta x mos def x jay elec)

  23. that Phonte & Drake album would FUCKIN CRAZY

  24. this is a good list.. but Cole and Kendrick will be soo much better than WTT

  25. twista x do or die x johnny p. produced entirely by legendary traxter.

  26. eminem and jay z
    j cole and drake
    wale and rick ross

  27. Ice Cube & Kendrick Lamar would be fuckin awesome. Black Thought and Lupe Fiasco over Madlib beats?!!! Maaan, that would be the dopest record EVER!

  32. Big K.R.I.T. & Bun B…. The new UGK

  33. Lloyd Banks & Loso

  34. Em and Jay

  35. Sean Price(Mic Tyson) , Roc Marciano & Vinnie Paz…on some boxing hip hop heavyweights shit

  36. A lot of those combos really wouldn’t go good. And why is Drake even on this list? He’s fuckin’ trash

  37. XV and J. Cole.

  38. Wale x Tupac
    Big L x Joell Ortiz
    Big L x Kendrick Lamar

  54. I would be fuckin hyped for that andre 3000 + cee lo album. but… never gonna happen.

andre can’t even put out a solo album, not to mention another outkast album.

  55. Common and Kanye project
    Common and Nas project
    Jay and Nas project
    Kendrick and Cole project
Child Rebel Soldier album( didn’t happen because of lupe)
    Wiz Sean and Currensy
    Black Hippy with blu/exile production
Game and 50 cent project would still be sick
