  1. the most important album in hiphop history? GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK. ITS FUCKING AWFUL. AWFUL. AWFUL. AWFUL. they are still masons… and fucking masons control the media so of course they are gunna say its the best.

  2. holy shit relax jesus haha

  3. most important album in hip hop history … REALLY?? really?? im not even a hater i can see why some people liked it but that’s just *rza voice* “fucking ridiculous!”

  4. “Most Important Album in Hip Hop History?”
    Naaaaaa

  5. Masons/Illuminati bullshit already smh

Funny a nigga calling himself chef when he’s obviously so stupid he can’t feed himself let alone cook.

  6. lol you faggots are brainwashed. keep thinking kanye and jay-z aren’t evil fucking people.

i feed myself and provide for my family of 4 with no problems, thank you very much.

  7. @Chef: Be serious, br0… that Illuminati conspiracy is a bunch of bullshit. You are the one that is brainwashed… but I will agree with you that the album is NOT the most important one in Hip-Hop history. They really went too far with that… but the album was NOT awful, and I HATE Jay-Z.

Anyways, RESPECT magazine lost some of my respect for this retarded shit…

  8. stop talkin’ & listen this !!

  9. Watch the Throne is above average at best, but to sit here and say that this is the most important hiphop album of all time is ludicrous. I mean what ever happened to “The Purple Tape”, “Illmatic”, or “The Blueprint” for that matter, it’s as if they forgot about those albums. As a fan i sometimes get caught up in the hype but i’m smart enough to see past the propaganda or should i say the mainstream domination of the media. All i see is a monopoly of music, and a music “cannon” that maybe just doesn’t discharge as strong as it use to. Maybe we respect J, too much in a sense that everything he does is great when it’s clearly not. The album wasn’t trash, it just we hold them to the higher caliber of Blueprint and Late Registration. But on the finally not, yea i have to agree with you guys this really leaves me so appalled. Funny i should have to say that about these two lol, thou they are great at times.

  10. Theres alot more proof that the Illuminati exists than that it doesnt…its just the opposite of what youre used to hearing and being fed for so long that you naturally dismiss it as being crazy or “conspiracy” (this is a sign of some1 being brainwashed)..every person/artist that has gotten out and spoken against it has been blacklisted, the media has turned against them and fucked up their public image, and/or they end up dead (with mysteries about how they died..*cough* Michael Jackson *cough* Amy Winehouse *cough*) look up a lady named Svali..shes gotten out and done some exposing of Illuminati’s mind-control program

  11. “and we can prove it” << says it all…. l0l

    PUBLICITY.

    PUBLICITY

    PUBLICITY.

  12. Fourth Ear <<
    1. MJ…
    50 YEARS old
    was diagnosed with lupus
    diagnosed with vitiligo
and took a cocktail of drugs for his ailments , and mental health issues.

    2. amy whinehouse…
was an alcoholic. she died from just that. alcoholism. wat exactly did she speak out against my dude?

  13. amy wihehouse an alcoholic?

and crack addict, stoner and anything she could get her hands on to that list. rip though

  14. calm down, there probably talking about how it didnt leak and its gonna set a trend of how to release music ex. Carter 4 is gonna be released the same way.

  15. You dont get it do you? The title is to make you buy the magazine, is to spark controversy. Come on guys, what yall want for the title?
WATCH THE THRONE…MEH, IT WAS ALRIGHT.

  16. the ”illuminati” and the term ”masons” are just general terms for the powers that be that rule this world. watch any PROJECT CAMELOT video and PLEASE educate yourself on whats really going on.

  17. MJ had the pedophile image and Amy didnt die of alcoholism, the autopsy still hasnt been released yet but toxicology reports showed there wasnt any alcohol or drugs in her system and police found no drugs or alcohol in her house either but of course thats what people automativally assume because of the negative image the media painted of her too..Kurt Cobain had the negative image so alot of people still dont feel about him (there was mystery surrounding his death too but he did commit suicide though)…Illuminati controls the media and the government, all these movies marketed towards the youth are about sex and death (Friends With Benefits…Final Destination), same with all these big pop artists music videos always sexual or has a dark vibe to it..music that promote the same 3 or 4 topics are played on the radio all day long, the truly talented artists dont get as much shine as the puppets like Wacka Flocka or Lil Wayne who fit a certain image…we’re taught to think with our eyes and not our minds..MTV promotes teen sex all day long with their reality shows…none of this shit is a coincidence, everything is a pattern to weaken and desensitize brains but whatever…people will wake up eventually…Watch The Throne was a good album but definitely overhyped and now overrated..Section 80 is album of the year

  18. People need to stop giving Jay and Ye so much credit for mediocrity. Yeah, they’re both capable of making classic albums, but WTT was SO FAR FROM ONE. I don’t even want to listen to it really. They knew they could get away with putting out a subpar project, and they did get away with it. The album is full of narcissistic bullshit about how rich and “awesome” they are. Jay might just be done (Blueprint 3 was even worse than WTT), but hopefully Ye can rebound to put out another good album, because despite what haters think MBDTF was pretty dope.

  19. Fourth ear< i agree with everything u said in that last post..but seriously amy winehouse was a well known drug and alcohol addict, y wud any1 want her dead (a secret society i mean) cos she promoted alcoholism and destruction not really a message of do well in school and take care of ur community..so y wud "they" want her dead?

    Megaman< ur 100% rite…WHO ACTUALLY BUYS THIS MAGAZINE ANYWAY???!!…seriously im asking…

  20. *i agree with everything u said in the last post but the illuminati assassinations type stuff*

  21. check out some good hip hop yaw http://soundcloud.com/justinmcdowell

  22. What’s the best hip-hop magazine these days? I wanna subscribe to something. All I get these days is Spin and Game Informer. Rolling Stone is good too.

    So someone answer me below…

  23. kendricks name is mentioned on the cover and you kept yourself from commenting on it? maybe there is a god…but srsly, who cares if some fags that edit a mag you dont read call it the most important album ever….it’s their job to attract readers

  24. FREEMASONRY SAYS:SATAN DOES NOT EXIST
“The Devil was created by Human imagination.”
“…the STRANGE ERROR that there exists a Power or Principle of Evil, antagonistic to the Deity, a
fallen Angel, the rival of God…”
    “…there are NO hostile forces…”

Jay has stated multiple times that he doesn’t believe in the Devil, that he only believes in one God, and that there are many ways to God.

No whethere you’re atheist, agnostic, or monotheistic, Jay Z’s statements and lyrics are in line of Masonic fellowship. I’d advise you find a Masonic bible, and read the following books:

    Exposition of Freemasonry
The Symbolism of Freemasonry or Mystic Masonry
    The Hidden Life in Freemasonry

They can all be found here: http://knowledgefiles.com/category/categories/freemasonry/

…then get back to me ;-)

  25. for all the haters on this joint: no church, niggas in paris, gotta have it, murder to excellence, why i love you, primetime, and the joy are all CLASSIC songs. how u gonna hate. i just dont get it

  26. ^ bcuz they’re haters. and haters dont need a valid motive.

  27. ya these guys are whack as shit. yall hear about NoYork? Blu threw out free copies at RTB this weekend and i caught it! check the name yo

  28. ya these niggas is wack. y’all hear about Noyork? Blu threw out free copies at RTB, guess WB isn’t giving him a relese date. found it here, click the name

  29. this is a joke and an insult to the genre of hip hop jay and kanye are without a doubt the most sold out rappers in the game

  30. WHERE THE FUCK IS MY COPY OF WATCH THE THRONE?

  31. i would say “the joy” and “murder to excellence” are classic. that’s about it (c) hov

  32. its only 3 good songs on that wtt check out some ol skool shit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYHQSktb9ys

  33. album is garbage

  34. http://hulkshare.com/m8vg45f9npj9

  35. you would never argue that hip-hop has become lame until you view some of these c-sections smh.

  36. WTT is a decent album, but it’s not a classic by any means. If anything, Kanye’s MBDTF was one of the most important albums in recent memory. I’d like to see their ‘proof’ as to why WTT is so important.

  37. If AZ and NAS made the same songs thats on WTT ( minus Lift Off ) ya’ll would be saying their hip hop Gods. The same people saying WTT aint talking about nothing are the same people saying Work Out is cool cause its catchy. STFU !!!

  38. ^ exactly. cept Lift Off sounds so late registration. idk why niggaz hate so hard.

oh, i know, cuz its jay-z and kanye west.

  39. How much change will you make speaking out about the illuminati with sources that you got from wacky youtube videos and shoddy conspiracy websites? I’m dying to know. And what’s worse is that you dudes just take that everyone should know, and twist the fuck out of it to fit what you’re saying, just like your sourced youtube video. Yes, sex and violence is pushed. Why? Evil agenda? Or is it because that is what people naturally gravitate towards because it’s in their nature? You dudes are confused and are always looking for some hidden answer when it’s ring in front of your face. Nobody is hiding shit. And if they were, they’re doing a pretty bad job at it. Shut the fuck up, stop worrying about “secret societies” that according to you have killed people that mattered way more than you, feed your family, and try to die without influencing other people to be as stupid as you. End Rant.

  40. @the realest

Exactly. It’s become like the standard to just hate on anyone that’s bigger than you are or has something that you will probably never attain. The thing about hating without reason, is it sounds fucking stupid, and you say outlandish shit. Like “Section.80 is better than WTT”…like wtf? And it’s not even cause it’s Jay and Ye. But it’s like, what made you come to that? Cause I can tell you exactly why WTT is better than Section.80.

  41. i like section.80 its a really fresh project. its not better than watch the throne though…

carter 4 aint go be better neither…….

  42. Section80 isn’t worse.

  43. @Airborne People go on the internet and youtube sites for facts and information on everything but once its about the Illuminati they all of a sudden arent a legit source smh theres alot of things apart of our human nature, so why focus on sex and death? This is just the youth its targeted towards though and of course if you hear and see something enough times you will gravitate towards it…if youre fed candy everyday 20 years of your life youre eventually going to develop a craving for it..that shits gets in your head enough times itll subconsciously be apart of you and your personality and ultimately weaken you and lead to fear, once you have fear you’re vulnerable to be molded…how come wisdom/intelligence and morals arent promoted instead? Every commercial is about how you should look and none about being comfortable in your own skin… This is why people in the government and politics are so arrogant cause they know the majority of us are fuctional idiots and blind to truth..4 year olds dont know their abcs and what 2 + 2 is but know every lyric to “Rude Boy” by Rihanna smh and btw the only youtube vids ive ever looked at are the ones of Michael Jackson and others speaking out against the Illuminati

  44. lmao section.80 towers over wtt

  45. No. It’s not a legitimate source neither is Wikipedia. And sex and death pulls in most people because people like you alienate and outcast like it’s not a part of human life. Sex and death is also not the focus of all movies. How many disney movies or kid movies or about sex and death? If you’re constantly fed bullshit like illuminati conspiracies through youtube videos for years you would also develop a craving for it right? The media caters to your wants and needs, and feed off of them. There are movies where intelligence and morals are promoted, people that believe in these conspiracies are so one track minded they don’t see them and only focus on the movies that “promote” sex and death. Causing it to be taboo, leading to more movies about that. Find me a 4 year old that doesn’t know their abc’s and 123′s but know every lyric to any song lol. You’re bullshitting now. Those are the exact videos I’m talking about, what else would I be talking about?

  46. No. It’s not a legitimate source neither is Wikipedia. And sex and death pulls in most people because people like you alienate and outcast like it’s not a part of human life. 47. Sex and death are the most mysterious themes in our lives. Cause they are what we’re all based on. It’s what it all comes down to. Sex brings new life, death is the end of that life. People like mysterious things. Which is why people buy into conspiracies like masons/illuminati.

  48. co-sign airborne. idont even wanna get started on conspiracy theorists.

  49. All I’m gonna say about the Brotherhood is, Airborne, I recommend Behold A Pale Horse. Read that book and look up the sources. Illuminati is real.

Also, many people ask why this magazine is dickriding Jay and Ye? Isn’t YN from RapRadar the owner or something? That explains it.

  50. I wish people could really compare WTT to albums they claim is better without just saying shit and not backing it up and then getting they lil feelins hurt. First of all to be better then WTT it needs to have better beats. Good luck with that , then it needs to have better subject matter and lyrical delivery. Then it MUST HAVE EQUAL OR GREATER COMMERCIAL APPEAL AS WELL AS UNDERGROUND RAW SHIT WITH A GOOD BALANCE OF BOTH KINDS OF HIP HOP. Then it has to have more good songs all together considering each one of these factors. Im sorry there is just no way your favorite rappers album can come no where close to this. Im not just talking about hype either cause we can take commercial appeal and fame and money off the table and just talk LYRICS , BEATS , HOOKS and SUBJECT MATTER and theres no way you can win. If you aint talking Saigons Greatest Story Never Told album then I aint heard no other album that can compete. And Again if AZ and NAS made the same songs that were on WTT you people would be saying its the greatest album of the decade. Now get mad

  51. Pauly stay outta this , we already know you disagree with anything I say so Let someone else argue against the point.

  52. If you took out that song with beyonce, i think its a classic album.

  53. lol how’s it classic if it just came out recently? i think everyone just needs to chill and not freak out over what a magazine says…the album is really good. easy to jam too, except for maybe 1 or 2 songs, but besides that, its funny how people jump to the whole illuminati talk when speaking of these two guys…get your head out the gutter, if illuminati is real, then that would be amazing…G.O.O.D. Music, money up the a$$, ho3z in the lobby…sounds good to me, way better than sitting on the computer looking at 2dopeboyz, thats for sure

  54. @ Marty McFly Nas & AZ wouldn’t have made that glossy foo foo WTT album. Nice try though.

  55. @Pauly

I know that book. If anything in that book was remotely true or the concepts weren’t seriously outdated and just plain wrong, I don’t think that book would’ve made it into the public domain.

  56. @Bacononao , thats the only thing people do is act like WTT is all commercial hip hop but then ignore the songs that raw cause I dont thing Otis sounds glossy homie. Plus Nas and AZ have commercial music on almost of all their albums including the firm but when they do it its ok. Jay and Kanye have millions of fans that like other forms of music but you want them to completely leave those fans out the mix for WTT but let Cole make another girl song then its ” Oh well he needs to sell and its catchy so its ok” GTFOH… Keep pretend WTT doesnt have real shit on it because thats the reason hip hop turned commercial cause those fans dont front.

  57. @Airborne

The author has a lot of evidence to back up his book. Or had. He predicted the fall of the Berlin Wall and the 9/11 event.

    @marty

Dawg…I wasn’t even talking to you, so I think you have some kind of obsession with my username or something. Every other paragraph by you is Pauly this or Pauly Dee that. Damn dude, get a hobby.

“11. Made In America (ft. Frank Ocean) – First of all son….Lionel Richie called from 1986 n said he wants his song back yo. Word. Sade jus holla’d on twitter to say this shit is soft as fuck namsayin. I think Elton John wants to conceive babies to this joint b. Drake said he gon soak in his lotion pool to this shit rite here for like a week son. I think Wiz Khagina is scissorin wit Amber Rose to this shit rite now as we speak yo. I heard this shit gon be used for the next Gwyneth Paltrow movie too. I dont kno how the same nigga that did Who Gon Stop Me had anything to do wit this shit but apparently he did nahmean. This shit sounds like two niggas hang glidin over the ocean together at sunset holdin hands son. I think this is bout to be on Yung Berg’s yoga playlist. I cant fuck wit this shit at all b. This shit is like audio lesbian comin out my speakers son.”

Lyrically, WTT ain’t got shit on BME. FACT

  58. am i the only one besides kanye that know how dope Lift Off was??? that shit was that champion/stadium status music. shoulda been the intro.

if kanye would have saved heard em say or touch the sky for watch the throne niggaz would be like “aww that shit gay. that shit weak.” but its on a hiphop classic and ppl dont even think twice about it.

but bcuz watch the throne had the hype and kanye aint the broke kanye like back then, this shit is weak/wack/trash. smh. “hiphop” fans.

  59. No, Lift Off is being called the weakest song on the album by MANY reviewers. Stop being stans, guys. Just admit when a song is bad.

  60. Pauly you followed me around for almost a month everyday saying my name when you first started trolling until I started speaking back to your bullshit so you of all people need to shut up. Your great at quoting other peoples lines and resorting to crying out your emotions like bitch but you have never said anything of any value you just either cosign something somebody else says or resort to frustrated rants about race and or what you consider to be real when you are the last person who should be commenting on a culture that wasnt based on your perspectives.

  61. this whole discussion was such a joke

  62. Do you fools know who runs “Respect” magazine? Fuckin Elliott Wilson. Elliott is the biggest Jay fan known to man. He’s such a Jay fan that he should remove himself from any Jay piece that he does with the mag because it’s a fucking conflict of interest.

So when you see Jay on the cover of the magazine he runs, just know that it’s going to get the full blown spit shine.

Personally, I thought WTT was a straight album. You can’t fall into the hype, because if you’re disappointed then you say the most outlandish shit. Just run it back a few times a listen to the lyrics. It’s more than “Luxury Rap.” They sound like they had fun making this record (Check the Otis video), which I can respect.

  63. seems like you’re the only one crying out your emotions like a “bitch”.

Hahah, okay guy. I’m sorry I hurt your little feelings.

  64. just bcuz MANY reviewers are calling it the weakest doesnt make it fact. MANY reviewers are calling it a classic or like the mag above “the most important album in hiphop”. and you would beg to differ wont you? and i will not admit to anything not true. im listening to it while im commenting. that shit sound like a graduation theme or congragulating i-made-it type shit. and thats the whole theme of the album.

WE GON TAKE IT TO THE MOON TAKE IT TO THE STARS. HOW MANY PPL YOU KNOW CAN TAKE IT THIS FAR! and even not including the production on that shit. champion/rocky-themed music.

  65. oh my god who gives a fuck? go worry about healthcare or something else

  66. And yes , by now we all know you people are gonna keep using Lift Off as your argument of why the album isnt dope. Mean while Beyonce is ten times at a level higher then your favorite underground rapper so the song aint wack to her fans. Talk about a song thats not so easy to call wack cause theres at least 9 of them on the album but you haters aint so quick to talk shit about Murder To Excellence etc…

  67. the Realest

Only reviews I’ve heard call it classic was DJ Booth. And, for the records, they said NEAR.

And anyway, this magazine doesn’t mean shit. If anyone gets the chance to, head over to RR and look at this dude Elliot. Otherwise known as YN. Otherwise known as the biggest Jay Z dickrider known to mankind. His “opinion” and Respect’s doesn’t mean shit to me, because its biased bullshit.

  68. any magazine or media outlet is gonna be biased to whats trending. jay and ye have the number one record in 23 countries. of course their gonna over-hype the record for the mag, its job to bring in readers not be politically correct.

  69. And Btw im not saying the album is the dopest shit on earth but it damn sure aint wack. I didnt listen to WTT and expect to hear Immortal Technique and MF Doom , I was expecting some commercial material like every other album Jay and Kanye has ever done for their whole career so cut the bullshit.

  70. and lets be real for a min, is heard em say featuring the dude from maroon 5 more hiphop than lift off featuring beyonce? bcuz heard em say is on a hiphop classic…according to most reviewers.

  71. @Pauly

You know, I’ll read the whole book. It’s quoted so much in discussions like these I might as well.

And I agree with @the realest Lift Off was a great track. That nigga bigghostface just thinks it’s cool to act like a coon who can’t appreciate anything different like he’s a porch monkey who never left Staten Island. The only thing that was “soft” about the record is that it wasn’t a “traditional” hip hop song. That’s because WTT wasn’t your traditional hip-hop album. Look at it from a solely musical standpoint. All of the elements and things you take into account when analyzing music generally, and then assess WTT. It’s a great album cause it incorporates most if not all of those elements.

  72. @Airborne nobody said anything about wikipedia everybody knows thats not a legit source plus wikipedia doesnt say anything about the Illuminati as far as I know…and of course if people were fed the truth they would want the truth, but they arent so they naturally resist anything opposite of what they’ve believed for so long and deem it a “conspiracy” or “bullshit” when theres plenty of “coincidences” that prove the Illuminati does exist and that it is the truth, barely anybody knows anything about the Illuminati and the truth about it is not promoted by the media so there’s no way anybody like me who knows about it is brainwashed by conspiracies..plus I told you I dont go on youtube to learn about the Illuminati and youtube is not a mass media source either…TV, radio, and magazines are…and theres a difference between Disney who is marketed to children and channels like MTV and BET who market towards teens..and tell me the last Hollywood/mainstream movie that promoted intelligence? all I can think of is Inception and Im a movie junkie myself..if you want to find a thought-provoking movie you better go on rottentomatoes.com and look it up…the majority of Hollywood movies are made only to please the eyes (rarely ever a plot in these movies), most teens dont like movies or music that require you to think..anybody who knows anything about how the human brain works and the subconscious works knows the affect the media has on people’s behavior, perceptions etc.

Airborne said this on August 23rd, 2011 at 12:47 am

    ^ fact.

  74. and tell me the last Hollywood/mainstream movie that promoted intelligence?

^ the pursuit of happiness? starring will smith. a “mason”. and that wasnt even a low-budget under the radar movie. promoted by the same mass media that promotes violence and sex. but violence and sex is what the public want. its not a conspiracy. its supply and demand. big business.

  75. @fourth ear

I never said you mentioned Wikipedia. But you would agree the common thing between wikipedia and youtube is that ANYONE can post up WHATEVER THE FUCK THEY WANT. When you asked what the last movie was that promoted intelligence, Inception popped in my mind, then you said Inception, I thought that was funny. None really come to mind, I’m not much of a movie buff tho. Of course most movies are only meant to cater to they eye, most people don’t have deep critical thinking skills, and you know that. I agree the media does have an effect on the mind and the subconscious, that’s the basis for marketing. Do I believe rich people influence the world by having their hands in the products we buy, the movies we see, and the campaigns put together for the politicians we elect? Fuck yes. This is obvious. Do I think that 9/11 was a pagan ritual sacrifice? Ummm….

  76. I agree with Fourth Ear. I went to my brothers house today and he was watching Bad Girls Club. And I’m just sitting there, thinking, nobody can be THIS stupid. It’s truly impossible to be THIS stupid. The government are trying to destroy our youth.

    @Airborne

As far as Lift Off goes, IMO its a bad song. Pitiful verses and an okay beat. But don’t take my opinion for it. If you think the song is dope, who am I to try to change your opinion?

I also advise that you read that book to the fullest. I remember the first time I read it, all I did was look up info online and read it. Didn’t watch television or anything. Thumbs up for keeping an open mind.

    Nite everyone.

  77. @the realest Pursuit of Happiness came out like 4 years ago lol that still wasnt even really a thought-provoking movie (atleast to me) and yes supply-and-demand…but, you can mold what the public wants, I gave the analogy of that happening already..people could only want intelligence but if you’re suddenly force-fed ignorance you’re going to naturally begin to want ignorance..kind of like how 90s hip hop lyricism was promoted and thats all anybody wanted, then record labels and radio stations began only promoting ignorance and now thats all anybody wants to hear (somebody told me the other day that Waka Flocka is better than Nas), you’ll eventually get used to it and want it.. especially if thats what youre fed ever since the day you were born
@fourth ear..the media is used to weaken minds and desensitize the masses, there’s too many examples to prove that…thats part of the reason people dont exercise critical thinking skills, theyve been taught not to use their brain ever since they were born and yea I dont even really believe the 9/11 conspiracy either so I wont be going that far..but I dont think the fact that Amy Winehouse and countless others have died at the age of 27 is a coincidence

  78. Do all y’all Illuminati believers vote? Or do anything? Except not trust anything for what it is…

  79. How was it not thought-provoking? It showed what good character was as well as important morals. It made people think and feel. I don’t know why the illuminati would be killing musicians at 27. It is a weird coincidence though.

  80. Those aint even verses on Lift Off , those are two bridges of just 8 bars so the focus remains on the hook. The song isnt even made for hip hop purists cause it aint even built like that. Thats why they did Otis for those type of fans. BME spit 24 bars on a song with Bruno Mars with weak rhymes and half that album was jokes and rhymes that had very little value in substance so please go tell Em to put back on his durag and bulletproof vest with his unloaded gun and pretend he’s in G unit again cause this new Em is garbage. The confused wannabe , suicidal druggy Em was way better.

  81. record labels tell artist to dumb down their lyrics by the way and mess with the creative process of the music, giving them the topics and all that they want them to use knowing the affect it will have on people if they hear that shit over and over again..Lupe Fiasco has spoke on this himself..alot of rappers are just actors, word to Rick Ross

  82. @fourth ear

A lot of rappers are entertainers. You think Brad Pitt goes on set and says whatever the fuck he wants and acts however he wants? No. There’s a script and a director. And he follows those things to present a character to you. This is an entertainer. A rapper is an entertainer. The sooner people realize that…fuck it, people will never realize that. Lupe has a big fucking mouth and can’t admit when he’s wrong, he’s like the only dude that’s been in the game for 10 years(Lupe was in a rap group that was signed, so I’m counting that) and doesn’t know how labels get with their artists. Atlantic did something right cause he’s never in his career been this big. They changed his image into a sort of rock star and it’s working for him. Ungrateful bastard that Lupe is.

  83. The whole point of the title is to grab your attention… its just marketing people…. i mean have some common sense… and they are talking about the way they released it most likely anyways… Cuz now an album can almost never be leaked… besides by someone from the camp or special scenarios..

  84. Well as a artist myself I believe that Artists are supposed to be the movie directors not the puppet/actors, they should be the ones coming up with the concepts, themes, lyrics etc. everything, it should all be from the performers heart and mind not from some1 else who handed it to them..save that shit for pop music…and apparently Lupe would prefer to be the director and not the actor and I aint mad at him about that, I would want creative control of my music too..I seriously think he can care less about the fact that he’s bigger than he was since it meant dumbing down his talent..now he’s got all these new fans that know nothing about his truly genius songs off of his first 2 albums and think the greatest song he ever made was Show Goes On lol

  85. You conspiracy theorists have to understand that alot of people in society like things like money , violence , sex and party music. So the labels and the TV networks dont have to do much dumbing down because people want what they have been getting. Business is about supply and demand and people dont wanna listen to Nas all night in the club and they dont wanna turn off TV and read books all week. Life is already hard enough so the ENTERTAINMENT business is designed to give people a release of some of that stress. They dont care about giving people knowledge on the rain forrest or stem cell research all day when the news comes on every night anyway and thats depressing enough. People want music and entertainment that isnt always so complex and serious all the time cause thats what people pay for and if they want there has always been informational TV and intelligent radio stations out there so they have choices. When artist write with thoughtful subject matter and creative lyrics , people download it for free so those artists will eventual disappear because they dont see any real success outside of some shows in small clubs in the middle of no where. When a artists makes stupid wannabe fake music , those same fans will go out and buy their product and actually provide the money to make those artists successful beyond just the underground. Thats cause people have no problem paying for ignorance but start spitting that intelligent shit and your just another free download.

  86. Marty you need to read earlier in the conversation I already acknowledged this but you missed the part where the media can affect what people want (demand) so you just wasted a essay of saying nothing new…I agree there’s a time and place for Nas and a time and place for the Wacka Flockas of this world…so why does the radio ONLY play Wacka Flockas and Young Moneys all day long instead of having a balance? (you rarely hear any music of substance on the radio) the ignorance outweighs the intelligence/wisdom and there is no coincidence behind that, thats all premeditated and its obviously having an affect on people…if the radio started right now, today, playing only intelligence and wisdom then by the end of the year the ignorance would be underground cause most people would not want to hear that shit anymore…its very easy to brainwash some1..study the brain my friend and how it functions

  87. peace to you all just have a strong and open mind..look at the bigger picture..one love

  88. you all are trippin if u think this album isnt on some other ish right now. child please. obviously there are tracks that arent “epic” like thats my bitch but that shit still bumps and is catchy as fuck. i mean its a fucking qtip beat! there are jams on this album that are gonna get replay on many ipods for years to come

  89. btw shouts to marty. you ARE thinking fourth dimensionally

  90. wow this was quite an interesting thread.
    @Fourth Ear
i highly doubt that the illuminati is controlling whats on the radio. from my experience, the average girl doesn’t want to listen to some deep introspective music. deep down inside, every girl wants to be a slut just like every guy thinks about fucking 24/7. its how we are biologically wired and it’s always been that way since the beginning of human existence. hence you hear music with that theme on the radio because it appeals to them and the radio station gets more listeners etc etc.. songs with substance and meaning usually talk about introspective subjects that can make people uncomfortable since they can often be things we wouldn’t normally want to talk about. just because you notice a trend doesn’t mean it’s been orchestrated by some elite group of masterminds. i could go on but it would be an even bigger waste of my time

  91. to bad Zionist Jews own all media & hollywood .

congrats you all failed listening to dumbass youtube videos .

  92. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UadyXs_3rAo

  93. dont know about that Illuminati talk but check out this Watch the Throne Review:
    http://sincenam.wordpress.com/2011/08/18/album-review-watch-the-throne/

  94. Don’t believe the Hype. Watch the Throne is an ok to good album at best…nobody gona even remember it by next Year. Whatz up with all this hype seriously. I’m already sick of listening to it after two days…most important album in Hip Hop History…get da fuck outa here

  95. I would give it a listen but i have feeling Kanye ruined tha album… why is he even on this? tha last good album he put out was graduation. but kanye was never a good lyricst. Jay Z should’ve did the album by himself. he is the thrown really… i mean every come up artist says they look up to jay. ti and lil wayne stopped writing becuz he knew jay didnt write at all. not once did they say anything about kanye tha only good thing is his beats. now if he did every beat and jay do the rapping i would give a listen.. but for now itll jus be one of those albums i’ll have to hear in someone else car when im chillin lol

  96. And Theres 3 Things Wrong With This cover: lil B and frank ocean are on it.
kanyes outfit and that big ass plate on his neck
and tha fact that they label it as “Our Culture”.

  97. let say illuminati is for real….what are YOU gonna do about it lmao…just shut the fuck up alredy and get u some money bitches

  98. The most important album in hip hop history? How the fuck can this magazine make accusations like that, and feature Lil B in the magazine as well? These cunts don’t know a damn thing about hip hop.

  99. Watch The Throne isn’t even the best album out this year. Success is Certain by Royce & Hell: The Sequel are easily better.

  100. I’m sorry but artists are artists(big shocker, I know right). There is a difference between artists and entertainers. Artists continue to pursue the greatness of their artistry whether there recognized or not, entertainers will conform just to remain in the spotlight. I still believe Lupe Fiasco is an artist, he didn’t want to have a fucking rockstar image, he’s a rapper, but he did what he did to get out of his situation of them holding his album for months on end, and then changing it to what they wanted. Rick ross is an entertainer, lil wayne is an entertainer, there’s a big difference.

  101. fourth ear< no offense but did u just really say that?….

"plus I told you I dont go on youtube to learn about the Illuminati and youtube is not a mass media source either" <<<<<

    cmon son.

  102. “watch the throne is the least important album in hiphop history and we can prove it”

  103. The main reason this album did this well was the fact jay-z said it wouldn’t leak before it released and then it didn’t. It was like babe ruth pointing it out and hitting the home run. Now its home everybody knows it was really a flop. My B%tch I don’t even know how long I’ve had that song but is one of only 4 good songs imo. I would consider WTT just as big a disappointment as the Royce and Em Ep. Both should have been classics and both where just 3 single worthy songs and some fillers to make an EPs thrown together with media hype to sell. Drakes mixtape had more influence last year LMAO.

  104. I just can’t stand listening to Kanye brag and whine. If he just stuck to producing I might like the guy but hes so full of himself and there is hardly any substance, all style. I don’t see that as important at all.
