How many collaborative EP’s has Jay Elect coming up now? I felt excited whenever I heard something like this in the past, but we’ve had so many announcements with no music from him that I’m really sick with it.
So far he had the collab projects coming with Mos Def & Curren$y, Nas, Lil B and Lupe Fiasco. Plus there’s still that Act 2 we’ve been waiting on for the last 3-4 years.

Jay Electronica and Janelle Monae on the same record would be dope but before I get started 1st @ JWlll , the difference between Jay Elec and Wutang is obvious that the Wu is 9 collective minds coming at you at once and Jay Elec is just one single MC. I also dont think Wutang was all about 5% beliefs of mathematics and science because they obviously talk alot about the streets just like Jay Elec and nobodies forcing you to listen to they shit. @LyricEater , I dont remember Jay ever saying he was gonna do those projects I just remember other artists saying they would like to do projects with him but that nothing is in the works. Only people that kept bringing it up is Lil B and lupe but I knew that was bullshit anyway. The fact that people are upset ( including myself ) that he aint dropping more music just proves how much people want his music. Young Guru already explained whats taking him so long and it made perfect sense. To make a long story short he said Jay Elec been ready to go but they looking for a way to present him to the people the right way so that the masses get a chance to hear his music instead of just 90s fans. Jay Elec cant just order that everyone in the whole industry from radio to TV land help him sell music cause it dont work like that.

^ thats what im hoping for, but still i really agree with the majority of the people in the c section, we’ve been waiting for 3 years now for ONE single album, just ONE thats been promised to us multiple times, i use to tell everyone how jay electronicas the greatest MC of our time, but shit dude thats not gonna hold up if you dont have a collection to show, all i have is a bunch of low quality old songs that are half rapping half movie dialouges, and i have like the 5-7 songs hes realeased in the past few years, but seriously that doesnt give me a good argument to tell and show people what hes capable of, i mean how many albums did tupac have? jay z? nas? kanye? you HAVE to put in work to be one of the greats and im just not seein in with jay elect honestly.
i think at this point if he wants to stay in music either put act 2 out VERY soon after cole, or at least give us a REAL release date, or just join the fuckin bullitts
