House Of Balloons was extremely perverted with trippy ass beats and a singer (who is talented when he actually sings) but mumbles throughout most of that album. I do give him credit for getting on my Lets Get It On Playlist for songs like High For This, Glass Table Girls, Wicked Games, and Loft Music. But I could never just listen to him with my bros while chilling out.
I’ll download this album and give it a chance. I could use some more of his songs while getting freaky with some skanks.

Favorite tracks off Balloons were What You Need and Glass Table, those were also the only ones I could understand him on. I wouldn’t compare him and Frank, but since everyone seems to be doing that, I’ll just say I vibe with Frank Ocean’s music more, just seems more, complete.

I don’t know. I can see why we would compare Frank Ocean and The Weeknd. They are two dope R&B artist that have a special unique sound. But, with that being said, when you just compare THESE TWO against each other…i just don’t see it. Frank Ocean is dope in his own way because his focus is primarily his voice and the way he uses it. Then comes the rhythms and what not. The Weeknd is different just based on how he uses different sounds to make it seem hypnotic. I’m not trying to knock on his voice or anything because it is amazing, but that’s his primary focus. The sounds. Sort of like Kanye. All I’m saying you can’t say “the weeknd > frank ocean” or vice versa because they are both different in what they’re trying to put out. just enjoy the music and stop comparing.

The dream and the weekend don’t sound alike at all. There aren’t any notable differnces between Thursday and House of Ballons. Thursdsay feels like a sequel to House of Ballons, It should because they are a series.
