Recovery is one of the most overrated albums. The production and lyrics are inconsistent throughtout the entire album. Rolling Stones made numbers lie. I have a Rolling Stone subscription and I have to say since I’ve had the subsciption I’ve only liked 3 of the cover stories. Eminem is Rap’s Rocky Marciano. Great White Hype. Em is one of the best rappers in terms of albums, lyrics and impact. I just feel like white america/mainstream just wants to give him the crown. Besides pure sales can’t be the sole factor for crowning an artist. They wouldn’t do that with any other genre !

Jayz best album material: 1996 – 2011 cause just last week WTT was very much so the top subject in hip hop around the world. Sales is the only thing Em is the best at and we all know why cause if Mac Miller singed to dr dre the same thing would happen and thats big sales. Jayz wins in every other aspect of being King MC cause even in sales Jay is one of the best.
there is an extreme difference between mac miller and eminem. if mac signed with dre his sales wouldn’t be as good as ems. but its not even about the sales, dre signs dudes who have insane talent. and eminem had that. still has it but its not like it once was. eminem is not only a master of flow, but lyrically he is untouchable. even on relapse, tho he was spitting fucked up shit his flow and delivery was crazy good. and look at renegade, the song the two did together, eminem blows jay out of the water. jays verses on that song are really good, but em fucking blows his shit out of this world. em straight killed jay. blue print 3 was wack. aside from reasonable doubt the blue print and the black album jay hasn’t had an amazing album. infinite thru the eminem show were all amazing.
Em did not blow Jay out the water when Jays subject matter had more importance on Renegade. Em was talking about the struggle of being rich and famous but misunderstood. Jay was talking about the struggle of being broke and not famous and misunderstood. Em has never killed Jay at anything musically or lyrically so be serious. Infinite cant fuck with Reasonable Doubt , Slim Shady was dope but so was each volume of Hard Knock Life. The rest of Ems albums if you take away the hype can not fuck with Jays albums lyrically or musically. Flipping multiple syllables in rhymes does not mean that the substance and meaning of whats being said is the best and Jay can rhyme the same amount of times with the same syllables.

I guess nothing can ever be right unless Jay-Z is number one when it comes to hip hop, honestly, looking at the list above me the only thing I’m really seeing from Jay is longevity. Jay-Z is like an NBA center, lets go with Shaq. Shaq is ONE of the best centers in the game but he is not the greatest because he was not the only great center. You have Hakeem who is the all time leader in blocks, kareem all time leader in points, Wilt the only nigga to score 100 in a professional game and Bill Russell the champ of all champions with 11 rings. So you can’t just call somebody the best ever in this genre when Notorious, Big L, Pac, Andre 3000, Bun B, Lauryn Hill, Nas and Em( just to say a few) are greats also.
