  1. HAHAHA. That’s tight man. Big Sean admitting the song was “soft as fuck.” I respect that. I appreciate the personality of Big Sean as much, if not more, as the music. I’m rooting for him.

  4. I swear I’ve heard the same thing in 3 interviews.
I guess it ain’t shit else to say

  5. this boy look biff as hell with that lighting haha

  6. ahh shit buff**

  7. ^^ah shit buff**

  8. Big Sean is talking like My Last is soft like his other songs are hard or something. Nigga 90% of your material is just as soft as my last. My last is the reason people even pay him any attention cause it sure wasnt his last mixtape that did it or the I do it single.

  9. I Do It wasn’t an official single, it was for promotional uses. Marvin Gaye and Chardonnay is actually the second single.

  10. IS THAT HAIRDRESSER SEAN?

  11. Pauly just shut up , Big Sean went on 106 n park to premier the video for I do it on TV. You dont do all that for a song thats not official. Big Sean is cool but songs like My Last and So Much more are his realest songs because people actually feel them because those beats are deep. So him calling them soft doesnt really sound like he understands what No I.D was trying to tell him about music.

  12. Uh oh, looks like someone is on their menstrual cycle!

Then I guess So Much More was a single too, because that had a video for it! No, both those songs were used for promotion. No, they were street singles, but not OFFICIAL singles.

Now, Sean is pretty stupid for calling his own songs soft. SMH @ this guy sometimes.

  13. He needs to put out “High” as a single because that’s probably the song off of the album that I feel the most.

Give some shine to Chiddy Bang, especially since Xaphoon did such an amazing job on that beat sampling Ellie Goulding, and then of course you have the mainstream appeal of having Wiz on it. Seems like a can’t lose.

This interview was kind of dry though. Eh.

  14. I do it is an official single dummy not a street single , Everything is used for promotion. Exhibit C is a street single not like I do it which is on TV and Radio. Now go to your room

  15. He a real nigga at least. He keeps it G.

  16. Big Sean is very much picky when it comes to the music he makes. He’s not trying to make music with the mindstate that it has to be good for the radio and tv. He legitimately wants to make the best music out period. He’s very focused on that goal and that’s why I respect him

  17. marty mcfly read up on wikipedia before you make a comment.. i do it is NOT the second official single

  18. because everything on wikipedia is 100 % true all the time

  19. haha he looks like a mini Brian Pumper in that screen shot though

  20. @Broking , Well Big Sean sure thinks it is and what more does it need to be official then? Its been out and has been played on every different platform that hip hop has so I dont know how it could be anymore official then that.

  21. I’ll give you an example: That Won’t Back Down song from Em. It’s not an official single, but its been used in a lot of commercials, therefore making it a promotional single…

  22. Pauly I saw Big Sean on Tv presenting the song as a single himself and the shit played on BET for the rest of the week because people voted for it. Now is that official enough or not? On another note ANY song that comes out that people hear is gonna get judged to the same degree as a single whether its official or not. Everything a artists does can be considered promotion and every song a artists does can be perceived as a single especially if the song itself is promoted as such. Every song counts and the only thing that matters is if its dope or not. Single means one song , so whether its official or not the fans dont care cause to them its a single. The point im making is alot of people bought his album because of My Last and now Sean is talking like that song is soft when he has a bunch of songs thats just as soft. Bottom line and btw Em is wack

  23. He went on TV and said the words THIS IS MY NEW SINGLE…

  24. ^^^^^
I’m not gonna argue with you anymore, because it is really time consuming to try to battle ignorance. I’m not even going to delve deeply into that “Em is wack” statement, because about 10 million + people would disagree with you. But facts don’t matter to you. I can see that.

  25. 10 million people would say Hanna Montana is not wack too. Em is the Justen Beiber of rap

  26. Now, that’s a very ignorant and, a tad racist, thing to say. Not only has he been cosigned by many legendary rapper (including Jay-Z), but he has the sales and respect to prove that he is a force.

I can literally give you line after line after line where he snapped lyrically on Relapse, Recovery, and Hell: The Sequel.

  27. i agree Em is wack marty mcfly
@pauly dee i could say all the same things about my boi wayne but you would no doubt put him down for some other reason so all thsoe points are irrelavant.

for a single to be a single it has to be released to radio.. it wasnt released to radio. radio is the biggest platform music has right now so no, it was scrapped as an official single bro.

  28. @theBroking , ok ill give you that we’ll say its not a single but I know you know what I was saying. Even though Big Sean doesnt like My Last he should be able to understand why that was the right choice for a single. It was a solid song and I just didnt understand why he knocked his own song because thats one of his few songs that will have longevity.

  29. theBroKing, Lil Wayne’s punchlines are predictable. Em’s isn’t. Did you really expect him to say that he wants to put his penis in Nicki’s anus and that decapitation line from Fast Lane?

Instead of just saying an artist is wack, why don’t you give evidence that said artist is wack?

  30. @pauly dee

you have a very low IQ if you think i can just write down different points on why Em is wack.. music is all down to personal preference and opinions so really nothing that i say will change your opinion of him or make you agree with me. just to prove my point i will write down one reason why i dont like eminem

in order to stay relevant and on the charts this dude has to constantly come up with radio friendly pop bullshit singles, such as love the way you lie. if all rap singles were like eminems’ i would truthfully no longer listen to hip hop.” HEY! i know, lets put a alex da kid beat out, with… RIHANNA on the chorus!! yeah that will sell so many records!!” hes what you call a sellout artist. personally i dont like hearing his shouting raps over such beats and i think that he needs to push the envelope of rap a bit more. he tries to target the teenage crowd which is good, but he tries way too hard at it and makes it so obvious. skylar grey, pink, bruno mars, rihanna… who next justin bieber?

  31. Em also uses the same approach too many times which is screaming in rage. Even on songs that were meant to be funny or softer songs that werent meant to sound like battle rap songs. Pauly wants examples of Ems wackness? I say his last three solo albums and BME are trash.

  32. theBroKing

You contradicting yourself, because Lil Wayne not only has done more features with pop stars, but he also made Lollipop and How To Love, which are both pop songs.

    marty mcfly

I’m not gonna delve into this subject any longer, because this is a Big Sean post and it’s stupid to talk about another artist on his post…but I have to take this.

Encore – Had some wack song, but if you actually listened, there were dope/ classic songs on the album here and there. IE. Like Toy Soldiers, Mosh, etc.

Relapse – His worst album, but that’s not to say its not doper than most rappers albums these days. He came with it lyrically, his rhyme scheme was just crazy, and most of the beats were more underbround.

Recovery – Yes, the beats are a bit meh. Yes, the hooks could be better. Yes, the screaming is annoying from time to time. But you CANNOT say that he didn’t deliver lyrically. “Colt Seavers on a mule, stuntin’ on that ass like the fuckin’ Fall Guy. I don’t gas my Mercedes after midnight, man I treat it like a Mogwai.”

Hell The Sequel – Seriously, guy? You’re attacking critically acclaimed EP that is chock full of dangerous flows and out of this world lyricism? I honestly feel that the people that don’t at least FEEL some of the lyrics on this EP, never had love for Em, Royce, or BME in general. “A one-night stand is all he wants with a female fan, yeah one like Stan,
and he’s so about a night stand his bedroom has two lamps,
    and only one nightstand.”

  33. pauly at least wayne came at mainstream in an interesting manner!! both styles of those songs have never been done by a rapper before (and succeeded).. will u ever hear a song similiarly sounding to lollipop on the radio again? probably not. lighters? well of course. also how can u listen to the dude when even when he raps about love he is shouting? he seems angry at every corner it gets fucking irritating at least lil wayne sounds happy in his songs.

  34. em used to be original and creative, e.g real slim shady. shit like that had never been done before! now he just slaps fucking BRUNO MARS on the hook to gurantee a hit. it wouldnt even be half bad if he didnt have the same types of beats on every single too, “airplanes” kinda sounding beats. those songs are good for a breakhrough artist to release but once they make it into mainstream they shouldnt be doing that again

  35. Somebody tell this Maguire chick to go buy something better than a Hi-Fi Handy Cam….. it’s 2011….and you sound and video is GAR-BAGE

  36. When an artist as big as Em is on hiatus for a few years, he has to connect with the younger generation, because they know nothing about Em. I remember when Not Afraid and LTWYL dropped and everyone around me was (and are still) saying that Em was the best rapper alive. That is the responses that he’s going for, because he knows that if he drops a modern day Real Slim Shady or a Without Me, no one will buy it…pretty much because Hip Hop Heads don’t buy shit at all and younger gens only buy stuff that has pop appeal.

Again, Lil Wayne also has a bigger “pop” discography than Em. Believe me when I say that Wayne is the more likely person to make a song with Beiber.

  37. ^except for the fact that weezy told xxl he would never do a bieber feature. seriously tho dude hes connected with the “younger gen” now with i need a doctor etc etc. theres no need for lighters to even be created.

    http://www.killerhiphop.com/skepta-dare-to-dream-given-to-eminem/

another pop hit for eminem,… yay

  38. ^^^^Haha, I know about that Skepta thing. Another hit for Em I guess, but a bit bad fo Skepta.

Second, Wayne doesn’t keep any promises. This is the guy that album is still being delayed.

Third, Lighters is a good look for him. Yes, it is a bit of a pop tune, but it’s getting Royce recognized. And when Royce gets recognized, Slaughterhouse gets recognized. Which means good album sales, which keeps the lights on at Shady.
