How to Reinvent Beanie Sigel? (Video)

Similar to these previous videos, this is just a discussion between hip hop heads and is meant to spark up some commentary within y’all down below. Nothing said above represents what myself and/or Meka believe personally (although I do agree with many points mentioned).

  1. I’m gonna release a 3 second video to answer this question. Preview: “You don’t.”

  2. That nigga should have just retiired with dignity years ago

  3. ^^KILL URSELF FOR SAYING THAT U AND THE FAGGOT IN THE VIDEO WORK AT H&M

  4. Beans is a nigga thats actually too gangsta for music. Go back to all his albums , every time a Beanie album comes out they barely do numbers and thats because the material on it is just too gangsta for people too relate. None of these fans have supported gangsta music for the last 6 years. I love gangsta music because to me its the most honest form of rap in terms of dealing with raw emotions but now hip hop is just too soft. 5o been looking for a way to get back on top for years now. Even Jayz toned it down some on American Gangster and that shit still went over peoples head. Beans is to real for rap , he needs to fuck with that TV and movie shit. The checks are much much bigger anyway. Maybe Ross will put some gangsta energy back in the streets with God forgives I dont but people still mad at him for the C.O job he worked 15 years ago ( which I can understand BUT ) so I dont know if Beans can find a lane to be in these days.

  5. That dude with the fitted hat Yankee hat looks like Grady Wilson from Sanford and Son.

  6. the whole discussion on beans was wack. beans doesn’t need to be reinvented by a certain producer. beans went through a stretch of years of personal issues outside of the music side. beans should of been musically prepared before he did his bid. when he went behind bars, his career came to a complete halt. no material, no product and no back-up plan to keep his name synonymous in the game. as much as I wish I can come up with excuses to blame someone else for beans situation, beans is solely responsible for the position he’s in today. if the nigga is real with his shit, he needs to become highly active again lyrically. he needs to start droppin’ joints independently before he messes up again, and become another hip hop conversation piece. A. HOLE YOU PAPOOSED YOURSELF!!!

  7. I’d like to hear beans over some C-Lance, Stu Bangas or Vanderslice beats.

  8. lmao @ the kevin hart lookin nigga that pops out of nowhere at the end

  9. Get Rick Ross to do a Siegel Back remix lol.

But on the real, Beans needs to drop new music.

  10. Being a “gangsta” doesnt show how real you are… Look at Ja Rule. Look at Benzino.. lmao. Being real is what its about in the game, and if real is whining about being famous (2002 Eminem, 2010 Drake) then so be it. There were always a bunch of different styles of hip hop, its just that now everyone wants to complain about all the other subgenres of hip hop. Haters gonna hate, lovers gonna love; plain and simple.

  11. Here’s a start….Slaugterhouse Ft Beanie Sigel. Maybe on a Prayer/Heaven type joint, he was always good with that shit. And he need to link back up with Uncle Face and drop another Classic. Those two on a track are a combo that it tough to beat. Check their history. Face could use the publicity too.

  12. Once again the sloppy editing makes it hard to watch thye fuckin’ video. But on some real shit I’m hungry to see some new Beans. I love tha dude’s style. His raw, just raw, street energy. I grew up on that shit when I was younger. (Old 50, Ice Cube, etc.)

  13. @Mr. November , yeah but look at 50 cent and even oldschool west coast music. You could never deny the impact of gangsta rap. As for Benzino , who the fuck is that and for Ja Rule that lil nigga did his thing I dont care what nobody say. You can call him a fake gangsta all day but from 99 – 2002 when that nigga was running around screaming murder then doing love songs with J Lo and Ashanti , nobody could fuck with him until 50 showed , I dont care how corny he looked that dude sold way more records then alot of other rappers. Beans though , I honestly think kids nowadays would be afraid to listen to this niggas shit. He be rhymin shit about “handguns that hold shotgun shells and runnin up in your cell like wolverine in jail” They not letting this type a nigga back in the game cause this niggas a problem.

  14. THIS MAKES ME SOOOOO ANGRY

Im sorry yall but I been holdin this in for a long time the last couple years have been filled with nothing but SWAGGALICIOUS HOMO THUGS. Im by no means a thug or gangster but I love Beanz old music. If Waka Flocka can exist then Beanz don’t need to reinvent himself. The problem is America likes the stereotypical coon gangster music about cars and money and fake trapping. It makes them feel safe. The kinda “gangster” music Beanz was makin was on a real level. Its funny to me how there’s all these songs out there about selling coke on cell phones and Welcome to my hood but Beanz gotta reinvent himself because hes too gangster.
Come on man beanz was ahead of his time he had verses like “they say Im flirtin with the devil talkin blasphemy cursing out the reaper till the gate keep captures me” another beanse verse “I hope you gotta extra mic and a fire proof both cuz you know Im known to melt a wire or two.” If beanz has to reinvent himself and not spit quality lyrics like that then he doesn’t need to make music anymore in my opinion. Its just like a movie remake if your not gonna make it equal or above its original quality then leave it alone.

  15. for the record I hate the term gangster music Beanz dont make gangster music gangster music was a mid 90s thing just because something is gritty dont mean its gangster music

  16. “for the record I hate the term gangster music Beanz dont make gangster music gangster music was a mid 90s thing just because something is gritty dont mean its gangster music”

^^^^^^^^^^^^THIS… i feel the same way but never actually put it in words like that, lol, real talk brah

  17. Beans aint making gangsta music? Are ya’ll sure cause this dude aint making no everyday people music about smoking weed all day and buying hoes shoes either. When Beans raps it definitely will contain some , lets say “not so peaceful activity” Usually about shooting , killing , drug dealing and extortion. You know those type of things. Just saying

  18. LMAO @ marty mcfly – “I honestly think kids nowadays would be afraid to listen to this niggas shit”

Beans was just a victim of his time period man. “The Truth” went gold because the era allowed that and his affiliation to Jay-Z’s rise with Roc-a-Fella. Shit and he was damn near on every song off that Roc-La-Familia album, at least half of it. Shit for arguably a straight street artist Beans was highly visible at a time when Jay-Z was beginning to distant himself from that shit, and he just couldn’t let that shit go. He had all the chances in the world to cement his presence, not just his lyrical presence, but his overall presence, which you have to do because hip hop changes year by year and relevancy is only as strong as your name rings bells in mainstream in the immediate moment. Nowadays the era of hip-hop has no room for a cat like Beans. He’s just stuck doing features for cats that got real love for him (Ghostface, Scarface, Styles P., etc.) He just was never really savvy about the business end of his shit, and if you don’t have that it doesn’t matter how raw lyrically you are or the amount of respect you got, your shit will fall to pieces and be just a “man nobody was fucking with Beans in 99-2000″ type shit, and ain’t no money in that.

again I ask why are kids scared of beans and not scared of waka flocka wit songs like love dem gun sounds and hard in the paint.
    Lmao funny aint it

  20. This is really why I said kids a be scared of Beans and im gonna be honest. Waka is an entertainer and not only that but hes is also a kid himself. Beans aint here to entertain shit and hes not gonna give you the over glamorization and smoking mirrors of the hip hop. Dont get me wrong , I like the state of rap but I dont think people really want full out reality rap. You better off getting it in small doses from these rappers who are running around now. I do think there is a point where music can get too real and thats the same with movies. You got rated G then PG then Pg13 then R and thats because some shit is just too real for some people. The rappers out now are more concerned with parties and smoking weed and fuckin and doing a little bit of gangsta shit here and there and yes there is also a small group of conscious rappers. I just dont think the fans ( and not ALL fans ) now are mature enough or in a mental state to fully understand a grown and intelligent mans perspective. With Beans I can just hear in his voice that the shit hes saying is coming from a real place and the streets aint like they used to be anymore. Its not happy land or nothing but the perspective beans talks about is a little older then what this new generation of fans can remember or relate too. IMO Jayz and Rae and Ghost and a few others that are a little younger like Saigon and 50 cent are really like the last breed of those type of MCs… oh yeah that new Black Rob is probably gonna be dope too but Its time to let the Wiz Khalifas and Big Seans and cats like Waka caca do they thing now.

  21. BUT then again JAY ELECTRONICA is coming sooner or later…. Peace

GOOD SHIT, BUT THE THING WITH WILLIAM AIN’T JUST HIM BEING A C.O. HE WENT TO COLLEGE TO LEARN CRIMINAL JUSTICE, HIS FIRST EVER ARREST WAS 08, HE TOOK FREEWAY ROSS IDENTITY. HE BEEN EXPOSED AS A FAKE. HE NOT EVEN FROM THE HOOD. ITS ALL MADE UP.

  23. Beans needs to do a “Sean Price”

  24. Dude lost when he sat in a park with his homeboy and filmed his sob story. What a lame.

  25. Jas Fly’s rack >>>>>>> This lame “debate” about an irrelevant rapper.

  26. Did dude really say VH1 is Nigga Jesus? Lol Idk if Beans can bounce back. Nobody is really checking for him now. He just needs to drop some music, do some features, and grind. A Roc-A-Fella reunion would be epic, but that shit doesn’t look like it’s happening. I say him and Freeway drop a tape together. That Slaugherhouse idea was nice too. I keep hearing him talk about all these tracks he’s got in his interviews, but where are they? Drop a few.

  27. Personally i cudnt finish watching this…
these ppl are a bunch of gossiping know it alls!
    and dude at 2:20 …well u get the idea…

beans has been putting out great music..how about instead of bringing up his past AGAIN…support his music

broad street bully came out just over a year ago and he was makin tracks like HAVE MERCY, the ghetto and last two…GREATTT SONGS. support the man and stop the gossip.

  28. VH1 is black Jesus

  29. a gay dude commenting on beans?? wha part of the game is that

  30. How to reinvent the rap game would be a more potent question.

  31. yes broad street bully was a good album and the video to in the ghetto was great. Some of that cats on jump off tv was making me mad cuz they wanted to make beanz fit in with the current music market. That would be horrible. This new market is basically set to appeal to suburban teenagers. Beanz might sound aight of that Tylor the creator Yonkers beat though. Beanz music is still hot afte 10 yrs. I cant see big Seans music or Drakes music still poppin 10 yrs and thats because alot of the music they making is just for the curren market.

  32. VH1 = Nigga Jesus GTFOH LoL

All Beans need to do is put shit out! Post it on the net and we the ppl will decide.

    @marty mcfly “waka caca” lmao
