Why the fuck are they re-telling Spider-man’r origin story again? Where is Toby Maquire? Where is Kirsten Dunst? Who are these new actors? I’m sorry, but based on this trailor alone, I think this incarnation of Spiderman will suck balls. It doesn’t even look like a studio trailor, it looks like a fan made trailor.
Why would the Lizard even be in this movie? Marvel is hustling backwards with this one.

@nevaRWilliams has a point as much as I loved the original cast the accuracy of the story was way off which I hated. This seems to be going in the right direction as far as the story goes. I am a bit skeptical of this new cast though but only time will tell.
The Lizard was Spidey’s first villain I believe, Dr. Connors. It gets positive points on that note for me.

Sony didn’t bring back the original people because all of their prices were too high, they didn’t want to film in 3D, and Raimi didn’t want Sony to control the movie like they did with Spiderman 3. I am not convinced on “Spiderman Begins”. When will movie companies realize that every superhero is NOT Batman and therefore, their movie should not be treated as such.

To tell the truth, the series needed to be rebooted after the mess they made with the 3rd movie. People asking where Maguire, Dunst and all them are ain’t did their homework. This isn’t a sequel, it’s instead focusing of Peter as a high schooler with Gwen Stacy as his girlfriend like in the comics, and Lizard was one of his first villains and a good villain at that. The trailer has me hyped I think it will be good. And the movie has a year to come out, so of course their not gonna show every character just yet.

Everyone complaining about there being no Toby Maguire are obviously not real Spider Man fans. It was announced like 2 years ago that they were revamping the series and that Toby & Sam Raimi wanted to leave it alone. Spidey 3 sucked anyway and in the comic book world, there IS a reset button. They did it with the Hulk, Batman, (probably) Daredevil next, and soon Superman. Just relax and hope this somehow ends up being a good film.
Gwen Stacy wasn’t Peter Parker’s “grilfriend” in high school, but neither was Mary Jane. Gwen Stacy came into the picture after Peter was bitten by the radioactive spider.

They can’t tie it into The Avengers because Spiderman’s movie rights belong to Sony, and Sony has nothing to do with that project. They rebooted it because Spiderman is up there with Batman and Superman in terms of popularity, so starting a new after the difficulties and campiness Raimi brought to the franchise. Most of you are retarded if you thought any of them other than the second one was any good, especially in a post-”Dark Knight” world. This one looks a lot less campy, no TERRIBLE Tobey Mcguire, and a very interesting take on a classic story. @Truth, this isn’t the “same bullshit”, just like “Dark Knight” wasn’t the same as “Batman” or “Batman Forever”. Alright so first of all the movie rights of Spider-Man (same for X-Men and Fantastic Four) don’t belong to Marvel, they belong to Fox or Sony one of them… Marvel Studios has been responsible for Iron Man, Thor, Captain American. and I’m sure if they got the rights back they’d make a damn good Spider-Man movie. While I’m sure they play a hand in production or whatever they’re not fully involved. That being said the movie I think will be “ehhh” at most.
And just to be THAT guy, people saying you need 10-20 years for a reboot? Since when? Daredevil is being rebooted. X-Men just was rebooted. Superman will be as well next year. And since some of you have no memory, Batman and Robin was 1997, Batman Begins was 2005. That also doesn’t sound like 10-20 years.
The point of this is the get the origin right for once, because Raimi/Maguire DID NOT. And this would be more like the Ultimate series anyway.
And stop with the “it better tie into The Avengers” shit. One, The Avengers is damn near in post-preduction. Two, is TWO DIFFERENT STUDIOS AND COMPANIES OWNING THE RIGHTS. NOT POSSIBLE. The ones where Peter’s parents are U.S. spies, and thats how he ends up with Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Peter has always been a sad, depressing character. The quips and wise cracks were used as a coping mechanism with his situation. The character has always been much deeper than “kid gets bite,turns into superhero”. If this movie spends sometime exploring that. It’ll be for the better.

Why the hell does it need a reboot? The Tobey Macguire Spider Man came out less than a decade ago. Maybe it’s the fact people have seen the same rehashed bullcrap superhero movie every summmer for the last 10 years that led to people not liking the third one. 2 Hulks, 2 Supermans, soon to be 3 Batmans (since THAT last reboot) and 4 Spidermans, along with 2 Felching Fours, 2 Dullboys, and countless other dribble. GROW A PAIR OF BALLS AND WRITE AN ORIGINAL IDEA.
This just seems low budget. It’s almost like it should be a TV Series instead of a movie. I think if they would’ve found a more well known actor to play Peter ppl would receive it better. So far all of the Superhero movies have been a bust this year Thor, Green Lantern, and Captain America looks like it will be added to the list. Batman is really the only interesting series. X-Men: First Class was pretty good too. It seems like when they stay true to the storyline the movies are better. Also more action, less cheesy love scenes.
