  1. Frank Ocean FTW #OFWGKTA

  2. I pre-ordered my copy and it said shipped out on 12/31/11 WTF!!!

  3. returnof4eva was the first legitimately classic album of the new decade.

  4. ^^what he said

  5. I am the thumbs down dude. Niggas love Jay and Kanye for what they’ve done and who they were. I may be a jaded fan but don’t feed me average music and have the nerve to call it classic. H.A.M. was cool but not classic.

  6. the only thing that ruins this album is having Jay-Z and Beyonce in it…

  7. A damn shame about no Madlib

  8. H.a.m wasn’t even koo to me, but I am looking forward to this album. I know it’s gonna have some good ones on it.
    http://www.swagadelicide.com

  9. This tracklist seems nice, loving the production but the features aren’t of my liking. I don’t like anybody in OFWGKTA, Beyonce is alright and Mr. Hudson is too. Just expected more I guess but ah well.

  10. all i can say is that i hope that its going to be dope!

  11. Im not saying shit until I hear the album. To me it could go either way…it could be a classic, but it also has the potential to be the biggest disappointment in HipHop history.

    P.S.
    Where’s Memphis Bleek?

  12. Should be the first classic album of the new decade.

Carter IV will be the 2nd classic of the decade.

  13. interesting…seal on track 2…kanye tryna do his quincy jones!
ham hopefully wont b representative of the album every good friday track was better than that and tracks 7 and 16 leaked already and were amazing..so if the calibre of the album is like the joy..this shud b a great album ..im not gonna say classic n over egg it..lets have the classic convo 3 years from now..heck 10 years from now n see wats said.

  14. honestly only interested in hearing the madlib track

  15. John Legend > Frank Ocean – how is he not on the album?

  16. Wait.. so Section 80 isn’t a classic?? C’mon Sun…

  17. I just want to hear a fucking song already (not including the 3 we’ve already heard)

That’s my Bitch and The Joy will almost assuredly get re-worked in some way.

  18. This album will be dope. But, our expectations are so high, we are already expecting it to be a classic. In the day and age of ‘Blogger/Internet Rap’ everyone is quick to label music a classic before they hear it, and when they do, and it fails to meet those ‘classic expectations’ it becomes garbage. I already know this album will not live up to my expectations, in my mind I’ve already set the bar too high, but I’m not going to hate on it. Let’s be honest, people are already hating on this like a Lil B verse on a Mos Def song. We should all reserve judgement until we hear the entire album…not just H.A.M….which is a good track, but not what you’d want to hear from ‘Ye-Z. Personally I hope the tracks are more like ‘The Joy’ and less like ‘H.A.M’. Oh, and if any other artist not name Jay-Z or Kayne had these features and these production credits, there probably would be as much hate.

But that cover art is whack as fuck.

  19. No Madlib, and DJ Premier was supposed to be on there too…Thumbs southbound brother, until this “classic” proves me wrong. Full album wise I can’t put Jay-Z into that category since the Black Album, and Kanye since College Dropout.

  20. Carter IV will be the 2nd classic of the decade.

    Jay s< good trolling.

With a lineup like this, this – ideally – should be arguably the first legitimately classic album of the new decade

    deacon & shiesty khrist – N.W.L

  21. Don Jazzy on the production credits. Nigeria in the building

  22. Thats what im saying @ T’Challa. Section80 was the newer generations Illmatic . How dare you say something like that and not even know music.. Do your homework.

  23. So Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is not a classic? GTFOH 2DOPEBOYZ!!

  24. I would’ve wanted to hear at least one Just Blaze beat on this album. Seems like an album where he would’ve unleashed a megaton bomb of a beat. As a matter of fact, replace one of those Swizzy beats with Blaze and that would’ve been mad nice.

  25. Damn, I doubt this is going to meet any expectations. I’m trying to avoid it but all these grandiose statements being made by bloggers and journalists alike is not helping ha

  26. @Go Diego Go: I know you’re joking (cause Bleek is a joke) but Bleek ain’t been on a Jay album since Blueprint 2. Even Jay ain’t fucking with him as a rapper anymore.

Also, no Madlib or Premo production. I am disapointed. Take away those two Swizz joints and replace them with Madlib and Premo.

  27. ^^ If we’re counting 2010 in this decade i say add Black Milk 365 as a classic. Anyway I would have loved to see some production from Just Blaze.

  28. eeveryone can have their own version of what they thimk is a classic man stop being so critical

  29. I only care about The Neptunes and RZA beats.

  30. I think when people say the word classic they think it should have a sound that their already familiar with and if you listened to both Kanye and Jayz last albums you should know at this point their about pushing the limits musically. So if you aint gonna listen with an open mind then you aint gonna like it. However lyrically I think Jay is gonna do what he always does and thats come with dope shit. It would be extremely hard to make a classic album in this day and age anyway because of a number of reasons. It will probably have a classic song or two but I think the days of a whole classic album are over with. I think the album is gonna take alot of risks musically so either people gonna love it or hate it.

  31. This is fucked up… Swizz, Rza, even Neptunes have fell the eff off. I gues thats made up by Pete Rock, Kanye, and NO ID. 3 goats.

  32. Can we get another revised tracklist without Swizz Beatz on it? Seriously..?

  33. Dark Fantasy was easily a classic man. That was a piece of work which deserves tremendous credit, and even the critics gave it 10/10.

  34. please please please dont let the neptunes beat be a typical pharrel beat im so sick of that corny sound on everyones album. same with swizzy

  35. Thumbs down for no Madlib. What’s with artists being too afraid to go outside the box? I’ve heard these old fucks rap over these same producers a bunch of times. Same story. Get some new material.

  36. i am mADDDDDDDDD abuot no madlib… man i thought they rapped over the beats? where the hell is madlib at?? ish is ridiculous.. i would have gotten rid of hitboy.. hitboy is ridiculous.. no soul.. no creativity…

  37. I’m not worried about the neptunes since they their best beats to jay and the clipse. I’m worried about swizz tho. As for premier and madlib i think their beats were just too minimalists.

  38. Wheres the Lil Wayne Feature n Wiz??? u gotta get those nicccas on der to make it a classic nowdayss ya feel?? maybe even lil b??

  39. u got SWIZZ and u aint got MADLIB
(cam’ron voice) uu maad uuu maaaad u maaaad!

  40. “should be arguably the first legitimately classic album of the new decade”

I’m tired of seeing statements like this when Jay-Z is involved in something. Dude is average at best. I remember when people said this about the Best of Both Worlds album which was of course wack.

  41. WOW at Southside getting a production credit. Kanye must really like dat southern trap music sound lol. Incase yall dont kno, Southside does ALOT of beats for Gucci, Wooh Da Kic, Flocka n other southern rappers. Sounds real similiar to Lex Luger lol but I like those kinda beats lol. N o Section80 is def a classic

  42. WOW at Southside getting a production credit. Kanye must really like dat southern trap music sound lol. Incase yall dont kno, Southside does ALOT of beats for Gucci, Wooh Da Kid, Flocka n other southern rappers. Sounds real similiar to Lex Luger lol but I like those kinda beats lol. N o Section80 is def a classic

  43. HOW ‘BOUT FIRST CLASSIC OF THE CENTURY? muahahaha!

  44. I wish there was a G.O.O.D. vs. Roc Nation track on here.
Verses from Ye, Common, Big Sean, CyHi, and Pusha-T and vocals from Legend, Hudson, Mos Def, and Cudder.
Then a Roc Nation song with a verse from Jay-Z, J. Cole, Jay E amd vocals from Sean Garrett, Rita Ora, and Alexis Jordan. Maybe throw Rihanna and Wale on there too.

Seriously how hard is it to promote your fucking camp. Hmmm, how can J. Cole get some extra shine. Hmm, how can Big Sean get some extra shine. OHH DERP!!! I put them on 1 of the most anticipated albums of the year and even if their verse is short they reach a shit ton of listeners.

    God damn….

  45. Shake and Meka you better hide your kids and hide your wife. That redbull ad is very invasive.

  46. Lets wait to hear the music before we say this is a classic…. Now a days I don’t call nothing a classic based on a solely viewing the roster. By doing that you over-hype and over-anticipate GREATNESS then when it (IF IT) does fall short you say it was the biggest disappointment smh. CLOWNS. Still like your blog though.

  47. The only MC that I think mite have a whole classic album on his hands is Jay Elec but Watch the Throne should be epic though and smh at people saying Jayz aint dope anymore. Thats just ridiculous

  48. Returnof4eva def the only classic in a minute and whats with no madlib.. lame

  49. Classics:
    Return of 4eva-Big KRIT
    Death is Silent-Kno
    Onierology-Cunninlynguists

  50. How about we first listen to the music before call it a classic Who know it just might be a shitty album

  51. so fucking stoked

  52. woulda liked to see scott on a track

  53. the fact that you people judge a classic based on the credits is everything that’s wrong with hip hop. Judge the music and get the fuck over yourselves.

  54. That THE JOY track is my shit

  55. Southside and Lex Luger Now I Know This album is gon be nothing special

  56. still don’t get why(/how they have the audacity to) says otis redding and curtis mayfield are “featured” on the album. that used to be called a sample.

also, @Franmk, cosigned one million percent

  57. Not having Madlib or Premo is disappointing (you cant deny the heat that they makes) but the other producers are great). I was kinda thinking that Mos would pop up on a joint but I guess theyre afraid of someone stealing the show on a track with them. Haha. But overall, I think itll be a great album (eventhough Ive been tired of Beyonce for eons now and HAM was eh).

  58. The fact that The Watch the Throne website makes no mention of the August 2nd release date is alarming.

Sad Madlib didn’t make it one but I’m really happy to see Q-Tip make it on two tracks. Also happy for some Neptunes and No ID. The Swizz Beatz inclusion is always a little scary because he’s such a hit or miss. But given that Kanye is involved in the project…the beat selection is going to be amazing. There’s no reason to expect otherwise.

  59. Fuck yes, Jay over RZA production

  60. I dont know why people are surprised that Madlib aint on this album. Hes dope and all many songs does he have with Jayz? Exactly , madlib doesnt really do the kind of beats that would fit two artists of this magnitude. Even if Madlib was on the album the only thing he would do is pick a sample but then Kanye would produce on top of it anyway so wouldnt even sound like the Madlib you people are talking about. As for Premo its the same thing , he makes dope beats but I dont think his sound would be big enough for WTT.

  61. @you It’s an album. Unless you buy rights to a song, or you get permission then you can’t use a sample.

  62. “should be arguably the first legitimately classic album of the new decade”

GTFOH with that crack pipe statement. niggaz kill me with the premature reviews, talkin’ shit and didn’t even catch the leak yet. Kanye & CAMEL are nothing but hip hop novelty acts. someone needs to place camel in a hip hop old folks home for his out dated wack verses. kanye is about two hangers away from coming out the closet with his faggot self. LMAO!!!… so Frank Ocean gets featured on two cuts while A. Hole is in the sidelines eating donuts. A. HOLE YOU PAPOOSED YOURSELF!

  63. So is there a 2nd single or….?

  64. Calling an album classic when you haven’t heard it is just wrong. That’s like saying, “THIS MOVIE IS GONNA BE AWESOME!” but you’ve only seen the previews and trailers. It SHOULD be dope, but I’m ready for ALL options. And Dark Fantasy a classic? IMO that’s far from classic, though it was dope.

    @marty mcfly

hahah, what happened to last time?

  65. I have to say this…DJ Premier Is Overrated, All His Beats Been Soundin The Same For 20 Years. Now he crazy on the 1′s & 2′s But His Beats Imo Dont Get A Pass In The 21st Cengjtury.

  66. GTFOH NYC BROOK.

  67. I mean , hes dope and all BUT HOW many songs does he have with Jayz? Exactly.

  68. @Pauly Dee , what are you talking about now? Chances are whatever you asking me I already answered it the last time you asked.

  69. Even if Madlib was on the album the only thing he would do is pick a sample but then Kanye would produce on top of it anyway so wouldnt even sound like the Madlib you people are talking about. As for Premo its the same thing , he makes dope beats but I dont think his sound would be big enough for WTT.

marty mcfly. whaat is wrong with you¿ madlib and premier.. .you talkin shit bout madlib and premier.. .god damn,im havin nightmares. the end of the world!! preeech

  70. I’m referring to when you were calling this album a classic, like centurys ago…

  71. I’m kinda glad Madlib is not on the production credits, because all they would have done is fuk his shit up.

  72. frank ocean is ill. wish I coulda got an Eminem colab. But hey why would jay and kanye wanna get murdered on another song by em? haha where the haters at???

  73. @Daniel – Thanks for trying to set me straight with your complete lack of understanding of anything. Curtis Mayfield has been dead since 1999. Otis Redding died in 1967! These are 100% samples that KW/Jay are using, and yes, since it’s a retail album, they obviously obtained the rights to use the original recordings, SAMPLED those recordings, and used those samples to help create a new song…don’t know how to be any clearer.

I just find it extremely presumptuous that they list two dead people who they were never in the studio with as “featured”. Be real, you paid the person’s estate for permission to use their recordings. Not like Curtis was in there vibin’ like damn Ye, can you guys let me be a part of this? In this day&age and esp in rap, “featured” means this person laid a verse or sung a hook. “Devil in a New Dress” has a vocal sample from Smokey Robinson; doesn’t say “featuring” Smokey Robinson on the tracklist, much like Ross/Just Blaze don’t list “featuring the music of Paul McCartney & Wings” on that “Self-Made” track…because it’s just a sample and those ppl were not involved in a hands-on way in making your track.

At the end of the day I don’t really give too much of a shit about any of that though, just interested in hearing the final product

  74. Sweet Baby Jesus is missing or What???

  75. @Tyler im not talking shit but its just true. How many songs has Madlib or Premo done for Jay in the last three years? So why are you surprised that their not on the album. Most of you people pretending you listen to Madlib right now sound crazy. Do you know Madlibs sound? Now picture Jay rapping to it. That wouldnt make sense at this point and Premo would be dope but Jay and Kanye are not known for using his beats. @Pauly I realize you dont get what my comments mean but when you get older you will. When this album comes out people will probably not be calling it a classic BUT in ten years when they look back its a very good chance they will be. I explained to you why people ( including myself ) were calling it a classic before it came out.

  76. @Pauly Dee , I think people here are using the word classic to mean that every song will be epic and I dont think it will be like that because thats not what the word classic means. PS but it will slaughter the BME album. Just sayin

  77. FUCK THAT!!!!!!! I KNEW KANYE WEST WOULD BE AFRAID OF MADLIB”S BEATS. Kanye is terrified to have Madlib get mainstream success cause he knows Madlib could out produce him in a second. And people saying Madlib is too out of the box you are crazy!! Madlib can do soul samples 10 times better than what Kanye Puts out, so Jay-Z could have easily rapped over Madlib’s beats. Just ask Mos Def & Talib Kweli & MF Doom. Kanye claims to be a huge Dilla fan but wont put on his production partner Madlib from their group Jaylib=FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  78. WTF…Can anyone say Holla City of Squalla. Ok well I was getting ready for this release. However, I am doing a lotta SMHing around here. Where is the Lil Wayne AKA Weezy F. Baby AKA Birdman Jr. features? I mean seriously. I don’t know what is worse, the fact that Lil Wayne AKA Weezy F. Baby AKA Birdman Jr. is left off of this album or that Shake is h8ing so much on Tyler The Creator soo much that he neglects to put up his new single with pusha T. Yes, well, I am SMHing….at U Shakey! What is the deal. Can you please explain why you will not post any odd future woold gang kill them all? I guess you have a hard time posting this album because either Frank Ocean and OFWGKTA is all over this album or because you are h8ing on Tyler the creator. Seriously, to get Jay-Z, Kanye and Shake back, Jay-Z needs to shelf this project asap and do an album with Tyler The Creator, Earl Sweatshirt and Hodgy beats! HAHAHA I SAID hODGY. Peter and I giggle whenever we say Hodgy. LuLz over here. Seriously. is this the real track list? Or is shakey dawgie ruff ruff messing with me and leaving the track with Lil Wayne AKA Weezy F. Baby AKA Birdman Jr.out. Seriously, like Carter IV drops in August and I am like Holla City of SquALLA! All day long. Dudes we need more Lil Wayne AKA Weezy F. Baby AKA Birdman Jr.. please seriously, put him on here. Aye! yes yes yes! Pleae, coming live from Hoodtrife DVD its Robbie Maynard The III and Peter Norbit. Seriously Lil Wayne AKA Weezy F. Baby AKA Birdman Jr. for life. Carter IV for life. Lil Wayne AKA Weezy F. Baby AKA Birdman Jr. IS THE KING OF RAP.. wHOA! Yea, Yea. Nuck Nuck Nuck! Holla City of Squalla! Please dawgie, Shake!

  79. @ Justin first off I like Madlib and I know all his beats so when the hell did he start producing better the Kanye? That never happened so what are you talking about? Madlib can make flip a sample just as good as Kanye and vice verse but Madlib doesnt make big songs like Kanye does. So dont compare beats he did for Mos def when Jayz has ripped beats by Kayne , Just Blaze and Dr Dre

  80. This album’s line-up looks dope as hell, I have a feeling this is gonna be classic, I could be wrong we’ll see. If not classic, I think it’s still gonna be a dope ass effort and among the best of the year. I’m not too worried about the whole album sounding like HAM, notice it got demoted to a bonus track and Lex Luger’s name is nowhere else to be seen on the album. Ye & Jay know the response to that record wasn’t what they wanted, they know what their doing, don’t doubt these guys, they’ve dropped classics before. SN: Murder To Excellence looks like it’s going to be amazing, S1 & Swizz Beatz on the board, the ones responsible for Power & the Power Remix

  81. But, marty, you haven’t HEARD the album! You can’t say its better than BME if you haven’t heard the album! That’s just wrong! Add this in with the fact that ALL of Jay’s collab albums have bombed…

BTW, Shake PLEEEEAAAASEEE put up that Hopsin track!

  82. LuL, a dude named robbie maynard the iii said he giggles with his friend when he says my name!
    N E Way. Whats crackalackin 2dopeboyz!

    Sincerely,
    Hodgy Beats

    Hi Shake I see you!

  83. @Pauly Dee , no project from Jayz has bombed since his first album cause even the albums people say failed really didnt. His collab albums didnt do great in record sales but the singles did well. How is the BME album doing these days? Oh yeah nobody cares.

  84. i just jizzed in my pants

  85. damn we get two great artists working on an album that I honestly never thought would see the light of the day (hopefully I’m not jinxing it) and niggas still find stuff to complain about it’s unbelievable… Basically everyone Kanye gave production credit to months ago made the album and niggas still bitchin’ just because one didn’t make it… I swear 2pac and Biggie could be revived from the dead in their prime states, make a collab album and yall niggas would still have a problem..

  86. stupid hiphop stans be so quick to throw big words like “classic” around.. u know what though? there aint been no hiphop “classic” albums for like a decade or something, if there have ever been any.. stupid folk

  87. http://www.billboard.com/#/charts/billboard-200

    Sure, marty, nobody cares…SMH

And most of dudes collab albums did suck. For instance, I used to be a BIG fan of Linkin Park. I had to have been the HYPEST person for that collab album with Jay. But when I got the album, what happens? Disappointment…

I’m not saying this album will be like such, but at least wait until you hear the album in all of its ENTIRETY before deeming it a classic.

  88. Hip hop blogger calls Kanye West and Jay-Z douches for not dropping the single yet/ on freshsideny.com!

  89. Does anyone know what a classic album really is? Kendrick Lamer and Big K.R.I.T. were good, not classic. Don’t get ahead of yourselves.

  90. marty mcfly has been commenting on this thread for 2 and 1/2 hours. i felt like i should point that out. every day

  91. Any project with HAM on it – even as a bonus – is so far from classic it’s hilarious / not even funny.

  92. So no one is taking my idea and running with it? Instead your arguing over the word classic and madlib production.
    Shiiit

  93. Lol @ marty mcfly. Apparently you havent heard Madlibs remixed of the Black album which are INSANE. Look up Moment of Clarity (Madlib remix) and tell me that doesnt sound dope. But wait…youre a Madlib fan right? How come you havent heard it yet? Hmm…

  94. ^^^ Thats not the point stupid ass , the point is how many big songs has Jayz done with Madlib? NONE so dont be surprised that hes not on the album.

  95. FUCK ODD FUTURE and FUCK FRANK OCEAN! them niggaz are self invented HYPE. most of their fans are euro neo-nazi racists and USA trailer park white trash. these niggaz are getting belted with bottles in their own concerts. Tyler is a homo twitter thug who thinks it’s kool to shit out of a window. Frank Ocean looks like someone wiped their ass with his face. Ocean is a wannabe indie emo song writer who tries to corporate radiohead style formula to his horrible r&b execution. ODD FUTURE is a one trick pony gimmick filled travesty the music industry have seen before. FUCK THEM FAGGOT ASS NIGGAZ! ohh and by the way…A. HOLE YOU PAPOOSED YOURSELF!

  96. @DHJ and btw that Madlib remix sucked so try again with that shit.

  97. nah, if swizzy’s on it, then it automatically loses its shot at classic status.

  98. marty mcfly, you fairweather as fuck, MAH BOY!

  99. I think HFM2 Pilot Talk Distant Relatives &Recovery are classic (retail) albums!!!

  100. Physical Graffiti “Mind Moves Feet” http://vimeo.com/24984028

  101. Swizzy 2 – Madlib 0

    Saddening.

  102. Swizzy 2 – 0 Madlib

    Saddening.

  103. Sooooo (Sir Lucious Left Foot) and (how i got over) classics!? GTFO

  104. @Dee Do you mean NOT classics? Cause then that makes sense. How I Got Over was a classic to me. Bumped that shit for weeks.

  105. Lil B’s I’m Gay (I’m Happy) was the first classic album of the decade

  106. dont get ya hopes up just to be majorly let down..HAM was trash and this shit is going to be average..just give me nas new album..he ready to take over

  107. I’m beginning to think these Madlib tracks are a bigger myth then Detox. #Booooo

  108. I agree with marty mcfly. People have the definition of “classic” all messed up. IMO, classic meant it could stand the test of time in 10-20 years I would probably feel like I could by the said classic album all over again if it was released today instead of back then. Premo is not that great of a producer, he’s good tho. LOL I remember when he went on a rant about people “exposing” the samples he was using. Telling dudes to stop doing that cause it messed up the culture. No nigga, it showed everyone you weren’t making magic, but simply looping shit. He lost a lot of credit in my eyes for that.

  109. YALL FORGOT ABOUT RANDOM AXE ALREADY?

  110. That sir luscious is definitely a classic

  111. HAM is a bonus track, so that kind of feel, hopefully got scraped, but with these two you never know?

  112. Most of you “hip-hop heads” just repeat shit you hear other “hip-hop heads” say. Or you just say shit to go against the norm to seem abstract in the know. If I was to say Lex Luger should def be on an album and any artist who rejects his beats is an idiot, i’d be clowned. But you can say that about Madlib, who is a sample-heavy producer.Even tho Lex’s sound has had more of an impact then Madlib. Stop living off legends. Stop judging shit before you hear it. Stop judging albums off one track that’s a effin bonus track(smh). Stop repeating random hip-hop head shit you hear.

  113. I FEEL BAD FOR ANY NIGGA WHO THINKS THEY KNOW HIPHOP..AND THINK JAY IS AVERAGE OR WACK..IT IS TRULY A SHAME THAT “HIPHOP HEADS” CAN BE ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING AND BELIEVE THAT STATEMENT..JAY IS THE EPITOME OF A MC..NOT ONE RAPPER IN THE GAME IS ON HIS LEVEL..DID YALL HEAR ANY OF THE FIRST THREE TRACKS ON BLUEPRINT 3..”THANK YOU..THANK YOU..UR FAR TOO KIND..HOLD THE APPLAUSE..THIS IS UR SONG..NOT MINES..I WAS GON KILL A COUPLE RAPPERS BUT THEY DID IT TO THEMSELVES…”ETC..JAY BARS IS WHAT RAP SHOULD BE..SUCH DUMMIES

  114. AND I MUCH RATHER HEAR A LEX LUGER BEAT THAN SOME BORING ASS LOOPED SAMPLE THAT DONT EVEN KNOCK..AND I WOULD NEVER TAKE ALBUM ADVICE FROM A #DIRTYBACKPACKER..YALL ARE GENERALLY STUPID WHEN IT COMES TO PUTTIN RECORDS TOGETHER..YALL WANT THAT SAME BOOM BAP BASIC ASS SHIT THAT NOBODY LISTENS TO IN A CROWD..AND YALL DONT BUY ALBUMS..AND FUCOUTTAHERE WITH THAT KANYE AINT HOT SHIT..HE JUS DROPPED A CLASSIC ALBUM..A REAL ONE..U NIGZ IS NAMIN FREE ALBUMS AND MIXTAPES AS CLASSICS..THAT WASNT THE QUESTION..

  115. Damn… I think I’m never gonna hear Jay over Alchemist or Madlib. I’m just gonna give up on that ship…

  116. Black Up by Shabazz Palaces is a classic IMO and it came out this year. Regardless, 2011 could end up being the best year in hip-hop in 10 years.

  117. why does everyone hate on swizz beatz? seriously why? have you ever heard of a wack jay-z and swizz beatz collab? i hate the way hiphop is the only genre of music thats filled with so much hate

  118. I just hope that kanye correct his verse and his words on “Thats My Bitch” because I was getting aggravated, the song sound good but I cant understand some of the shit that they were saying smh. Reading This Tracklist I have no idea how this Album will turn out, having Kanye with other producers it might be epic.

  119. For people who like competitive mainstream hip hop you got WTT , The Red album and Take Care coming out. For the purists who like that underground shit you got EV – CATS AND DOGS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and hopefully Jay Electronica so its all good.

  120. Hey, Shake & Meka… with OFWGKTA gettin’ more and more shine, how does your pride feel now? I mean, here you have an Odd Future member on two songs of the album you just predicted to become the first classic of the decade… so I have a simple question for you two.

“You guys gonna finally hop off the hate train… or are you guys just gonna keep letting it wreck your rectums and ruin your intestines?”

  121. @ThaTruth

Ye and Jay wouldn’t let something of that quality on to the album. I can guarantee you the vocals will be done and the track properly mastered, what you heard was a leak.

    @swizzy
Charles Hamilton wasn’t lying when he said Hip-Hop fans were the stupidest fans in any genre. I kinda feel bad writing that. Swizz has been in the game a while now and still makes tracks that go for about 15 years now. 15 years. Did Premier that? No. Has Madlib done that? No. RZA couldn’t even do it. Swizz produces for the mainstream and he was heavy in the mixtape circuit a few years back. He produces reggae songs also. I admit he did go thru a stale phase, but it happens to every artist. He’s honestly a legend, but he gets hated on like a fuckin newcomer. You have Hip-Hop heads who stay in the past and taste can’t mature and change, and you have Hip-Hop heads who jump on the next best thing then hop off when it becomes cool. Multiple dudes on here predicted the Cole mutiny. Next thing you know, everybody hates him. And he didn’t even really change shit yet. All he did was get a little shine. @Pauly Dee, almost everyone on 2dopeboyz is a fairweather fan.

  122. Uhh…. so Swizz Beatz has 2 beats and Just Blaze has none? ….What am I missing here?

  123. @JustAFanOfMusic

your whole argument is retarded. Would you big up someone that says “fuck you” to everyone they meet? No. OFWGKTA are the bitches in this scenario. Up your knowledge before you speak, so you don’t sound ignorant.

  124. Frank ocean good music?

  125. can’t i get on this Jay?

  126. This shit will be aiight; that’s it.

  127. @hippaToDaHoppa: No, generally the first one to call the other a retard is actually the mentally challenged one.

At any rate, what does their demeanor have to do with anything? All that matters is the music. And they do make good music, music we haven’t heard since the old Eminem (I’m trying not to acknowledge ICP because they suck) from the Slim Shady LP & Marshall Mathers. How are OFWGKTA to blame for the beef? Shake & Meka took it upon themselves not want to display Tyler’s music… which was all well and good. BUT then they took it upon themselves to diss him for no reason… shit hit the fan then.

Shake & Meka are suppose to be adults… yet they can’t be the bigger men and man-up to their fuck up. So, they just let their pride make them look like dumb asses. They should really just squash this stupid beef… but more than likely never will.

Not that it really matters I guess, I mean… OFWGKTA aren’t the only artists they have wronged/are wronging.

  128. lol niggaz is still saying this wont be a classic smh lol. this is like back in ’07 when they said obama was not gonna be president. they said hillary had a better chance. smh. fools.

  129. this site don’t need to post anything that has to do with those wannabe devil worshiping black crackers OFWGKTA. niggaz need religion in their lives. God don’t like ugly.

  130. featured artists this & that, blah blah blah. all i want is hov n ye. and a lot of ye tracks! this could ARGUABLY be the best this year. but i wont say til i hear it.

  131. I would kick a nigga out a window for this cd! -Thumper

  132. @NYC/BROOKLYN: Religion is for people who have no faith in themselves… Fact.

But I will give this compliment to your God… her vagina feels so wet, warm and inviting when I rape her. Oh wait, that’s not God… that’s my girlfriend trying to get a good night’s sleep.

    #MyBadSorry

  133. kid cudi’s man on the moon “the end of day” is a CLASSIC
big krit return of 4eva Classic
    Section 80 Classic
    Pilot Talk 1 CLASSIC
lil b “im gay: mite turn out to be Classic

  134. @ JustAFanOfMusic , Tyler is not a lil kid even though he acts like one. He runnin around saying fuck 2DBZ n shit so thats why they dont fuck with him. Simple as that and @ J.Cole No you cant be on WTT.

  135. yo that airborne dude is fucking tight your right dude i dont know how anyone can talk shit about swizz beatz or talk down about that man hes done soo much for rap/hiphop and he still gets shitted on like hes fucking yung berg or something smh lets see these fucking producers that all these hiphop fans rave about in 15 years and lets see if they’ve done anything even close to touching swizz beatz

  136. ^^^ Airborne also said Swizz beatz been in the game longer then DJ Premier and Rza? Riiiight….

  137. Damn, you guys are harsh on Swizz Beats. Remember what he did with DMX? Did you guys forget On To The Next One????? He killed it. And I was unsure of that track too.. Lately, his production hasn’t been terrible. But maaaan I’m hyped for this album. Not a lot of features, and great producers. Shit, I’m gonna pre-order this bitch now. You guys can’t seem to find a balance of patience with albums today. Its either classic, or its whack as fuck. Just be patient, and listen to the final product. Which is in a couple weeks. All I know is that if its not a classic, then I know its still capable of classic material. And HAM was pretty weak, but good thing its getting the bonus treatment. I can’t wait for… Pretty much the whole album.

  138. You all are Faggots that are gonna end up stealing the Music anyways, so quit taking this shit so seriously. Jay-Z and Kanye don’t Give a Fuck about you

  139. Lmao. I remember when Kanye first said Madlib was on the album, someone said that Jay would throw Madlib out for Swizz Beats. It came true!

  140. @Marty McFly: Well, he’s not particularly grown either at only twenty… but aren’t Shake & Meka in their mid-thirties or some such shit?

    @McSwagger: …you’re damn right.
*sits contently at his computer screen waiting for a Watch The Throne AAC download to hit the web*

  141. Im gettin real tired of ppl on 2dopeboyz hatin on Swizz. Seriously, he is not at all a bad producer. Bad rapper, yes but producer no, and when he producing for Jay-z, he never fucks up. Dont believe me, look up ‘money, cash, hoes,’ ‘things that you do’ ‘and ‘hova outro hidden track’ Also, he made beats like ‘Fancy’ ‘Dont Look Down’. I honestly prefer Swizz over niggas like Madlib and Premo. Those guys are stuck in the 90′s and have never changed their style. Just Blaze Kills All of them

  142. Jay’Z's ad-Libs > anything MadLib’s entire existence

  143. correction:::Jay’Z’s ad-Libs > anything MadLib’s entire existence has produced

  144. I could’ve sworn they were saying Bangladesh was on the album too.

  145. Don Jazzy on the beat. Its a wrap. Recognise.

  146. Hopefully the beats by Swizz aren’t TOO whacky.

  147. STILL no Madlib production? Smh.

  148. In my humble opinion, what would make this a ‘classic’ album or one to be respected is if they have grown up. Yes, hip-hop is largely driven by the youth and narcissism, but show me what it looks like matured. Prove to me that it can be better, and capture that in your lyricism, production, and subject matter.

Right now, with an August 2 release date right around the corner, expectations are being built purely off of hype and the caliber of their celebrity. But in reality, Kanye has lost a lot of his insight and wittiness, and Jay is past his prime. The failure of H.A.M. to connect with audiences is evident of this.

So I definitely wouldn’t call it a classic just yet. I also won’t claim it as a complete failure. Just let the music speak for herself … whenever she decides to show up.

  149. ^^ Slow Clap begins for this last comment.

  150. I also don’t understand the hype surrounding this “Frank Ocean” character. Is he signed or underground? Either or, these features are going to do wonders for his career.

And where is the “Dethroned” album from Drake & Wayne?

  151. People are arguing over whose production was pulled from the album but they forget that even if it’s a dope beat, the artists still have to make a great song out of it. So no matter how good madlib and premo produce, if the the complete song isn’t better than songs made with lesser producers, madlib and premo will be pulled from the album absolutely 100 percent of the time.

  152. “I honestly prefer Swizz over niggas like Madlib and Premo. Those guys are stuck in the 90’s and have never changed their style”

    ^
somebody shoot this nigga. Swizz over Premo? You must be 12 MAX. If not, be ashamed of yourself.

  153. I paid $32.67 for a XBOX 360 and my mom got a 17 inch Toshiba laptop for $94.83 being delivered to our house tomorrow by FedEX. I will never again pay expensive retail prices at stores. I even sold a 46 inch HDTV to my boss for $650 and it only cost me $52.78 to get. Here is the website we using to get all this stuff, BidsOut .com

  154. Why the fuck is H.A.M. on there? Fuck that. Diggin the Frank Ocean features though.

  155. This Watch the Throne album will not be classic. Anytime an album is expected to be a classic, it’s simply not. Albums that are legitimate classics are rarely well received initially. That said, Schoolboy Q – SETBACKS = CLASSIC all things considered. No expectations when it came out, ill content, ill production, play it front to back. Not some name-dropping tracklist with known producers and too-much-hype surrounding it.

Just so ya’ll know, the old decade ended Dec 31,2010…the new decade began Jan 1, 2011.

Distant Relatives would have been classic if they left of overly-glossg “My Generation”. Joss Stone & Wayne were wack on that shit too. Sir Lucious Leftfoot was solid, not sure it was classic. Book of David is up there too.

  156. @Hidalgo , you just said Schoolboy Qs Setbacks was classic? GTFOH @Eric Dean you say Jay and Kayne need to show maturity in their music? What do you think they been doing their whole career now? Why people forget the past so quickly , go listen to all Kanyes albums except 808s and as for Jay go listen to American Gangster all the way through. People find anyway to knock them cause HAM is dope so what are you talking about? What is wrong with these guys music please tell me and before you complain about they music , name specific songs you dont like but first at least listen to them cause every complaint I hear about Kanye and Jayz is complete bullshit. As for HAM , who the hell else is making shit that sounds like that? The song had some shit that sounded like the theme song from Night Rider and then some opera sounding shit and then they both went in lyrically so what is wack about that?

  157. @naledge Im 17, and at this point of time, Premo Is Not Good To Me. His beats are only as good as the samples. Why you think Jay-Z stop working with him completely? His shit never changes.

  158. ^^^ do your homework on Premo first before you talk and then LISTEN to his beats and realize that he created that sound and then figure out why people like the Game got him on the RED album twice. You imply that other producers beat styles change when they really dont change either. All the dope producers have their own sound that rarely changes much.

  159. lol @ Marty Mcfly

“As for HAM , who the hell else is making shit that sounds like that?”

    Lets see…
Waka Flocka, Tyga, Rick Ross, Meek Mill, and the entire south. Jay-Z’s verse was tight, but Kanye was very weak on that.

  160. @ marty mcfly – I know ur consistently impressed with your own opinions but HAM was not dope. In fact it’s wack based on the rhymes, beat, & chorus. Kanye should stick to producing. It’s easy to know that he had no father figure in his life cuz he sounds like a spoiled 12 year old bitch on the mic braggin & whining. And every Lex Luger track sounds the HAM WTF you talking about? Feel free to explain why you thought HAM wasn’t wack though. And what’s Jay Z going to rap about now…how rich he still is?

If you consider what I said about SETBACKS, it is a classic 1) as as street albums and 2) overall as an album with ZERO expectations and no top-billing budget/features. Yep, I said it.

  161. The reason I hated HAM wasn’t even the beat as much as it was because that was the single worst verse that Kanye has ever spit. But the beat got horribly annoying after the 3rd spin, too.

  162. HAM is not even wack, I mean the lyrics of Ye we’re weak, but that Beat is fire. Lex Luger actually took time now and COMPOSED some shit instead of quick 808′s and fast ass hi hats n shit.

  163. I thought the opera ending was extremely corny. I can’t play that shit to people who don’t know the song without getting wtf faces from everyone in the room.

  164. I only liked like a song or 2 off of Setbacks, tho. #BETIGOTSOMEWEED was cool, and To The Beat had a great beat, pretty good hook, and miserable verses. I think that’s about it.

  165. ^^dude setbacks is a classic whatre you talking about

and i cant waaaaaaaaaaaaait for this to leak should be soon

  166. @red , you named a bunch of rappers that have beats from the same producer but they dont have a record that sounds like HAM. @Hidalgo lets say HAm is wack even though its not to me , let me explain why they take risks musically. 1st there are no other singles out that sound like HAM so you have to respect that at least a little bit. Kanyes last album is proof hes trying to change the sound of hip hop so of course they single will be different. Jay has been killing every lyricist out for the last ten years by using subject matter of a gangsta. On BP3 he changed up a little and instead of using a classic hip hop sound from albums like American Gangster , he got back with producers like Timbo and Swizz. My point is this , either way you look at it they both still make better music then your favorite rapper so their changing their sound now. You mad because of the end of HAM that opera part? CMONSON if busta rhymes did the same song you would be jumping for joy but since its Jay and Kanye who have been consistently killing shit you get mad. Again NOBODY has a single out that sounds anything like HAM and lyrically none of these new cats are rhyming at the level of Jay and Kanye. Some rappers mite have a cute lil verse here and there but they aint got albums better then Jay and Kanyes last albums. What singles came out this year that are better then HAM in terms of being aggressive and using a different sound? Dont worry ill wait cause most of the music coming out now is soft and mellow and thats just people trying to use the Drake sound acting like they brought it back.

  167. Somebody said earlier that @marty mcfly is in love with his own opinions. COSIGN THAT NIGGA.

  168. And I like Setbacks but calling it classic? Stop go listen to all Kurupts solo albums then listen to Setbacks and tell me is there any difference in sound. No cause if you never seen who School boy was and I told you Setbacks was a Kurupt album it would be believable and I like Q but he sounds exactly like kurupt and I do mean excatly.

  169. @Marty Mcfly

The only reason that HAM sounds different is because Kanye and Jay-Z are on it. They aren’t southern rappers so naturally it sounds different.

But just like Waka’s Party on Grove Street and Hard in the Paint or Rick Ross’s BMF or MC Hammer or Lil Wayne’s John the chorus just repeats itself over the predictable beat.

And a few of the singles out that sound like HAM are the 4 songs I listed. I don’t know how they rank on the charts compared to HAM, but that has less to do with the quality of the song and more to do with the rappers on it.

And what’s funny is that John by Wayne is now a bonus track, and HAM by Ye’ and Jay-Z is also a bonus track.
What does that say about the song?
    Oh, that it blows…

  170. Let’s not forget about Jeezy’s Ballin either…

There’s nothing original about HAM. And I’m sorry to break it to you but you’re outnumbered in this argument.

  171. And one last thing..See me Now which was co-produced by Lex Luger didn’t make My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

    Lex Luger blows cocks.

  172. @red , ok thats your opinion and thats cool but still to me I dont think nobody else has a single out like HAM. It got the opera part in it , that part that sounds like the theme from Knight Rider during the verses. The last 4 bars of the hook it gets louder so people can go ham and the overall pace of the song is faster then the normal song from Jay and Kanye. Not to mention the song gets loud and then quiet during the verses and then loud again. These are all things that make HAM different from everybody else so if you dont like it cool but you gotta respect them challenging themselves with that kind of beat.

  173. ^So in other words, you wanted to know if anybody else had put out HAM (the exact song) as their own single. The answer is no, but many people have put out singles/songs that sound ridiculously similar, and some of them are better.

  174. ^^^ Who

  175. Wow Marty I really can’t…I mean obviously I can’t change your opinion, but hearing someone talk about HAM in such a positive light infuriates me for whatever reason.
Don’t all hit songs have a more quiet beat during the verses and then get louder during the choruses? You would like trance music…it does that a lot.
The opera, that was really gay. Different, a push at innovation, must gay.
And i I wanna hear some Knight Rider shit I’ll listen to Michael Knight by Curren$y.

  176. @ marty mcfly
Wasn’t the criteria albums released THIS DECADE (since Jan 1 2011)?

I’d never compare Q to Kurupt. Setbacks sounds nothing like Streetz iz a Mutha or Space Boogie: Smoke Odyssey lyrics wise or production wise. To me Kurupt is a stream of conscience lyricist. I’d never claim Q is a lyricist but he has a different appeal. The track “Crazy” was wack , I’ll give you that, but every other track grew on me after repeated listens.

I’ll let you speak to singles/top 100/radio cuz I never listen to that shit. It’s nothing but a monopolistic payola scheme IMO. Just cuz the masses are force fed some shit on the radio & charts doesn’t mean it’s good.

Back to the topic, I’ll check Kanye for production but never as an MC. HAM was a mess. If that was anyone but Jay Z & Kanye ya’ll would bash that shit.

  177. ^For the Lex Luger aesthetic, pretty much everyone that embraced the club/car banger mentality (and avoided the retarded urge to insert opera) did it better. I’m sure you’ll just continue to whine about how they’re so brave for pushing their boundaries, but the bottom line is that it didn’t work.

  178. Its good cause you people gonna just nitpick one or two things about HAM that actually make the song different and then completely ignore anything good about they music. Just go look at the last video on 2DBZ of Jay and Ye performing the song and look at the reaction from the crowd. That part where they all go crazy is because of the structure of the beat. @Hidalgo if you think Q doesnt sound like Kurupt then I dont know what to tell you because everything from his voice to his delivery to his beats to his back in front lyrics about street shit and then intellectual shit is the exact same formula as Kurupt. Listen to Space Boogie agian , now you mean to tell me that Q didnt reference that sound for Setbacks? Cmonson keep it real.

  179. What the fuck?

I’m guessing the two things we’re nitpicking are the opera and the repetitiveness of Lex Luger beats. Or maybe the opera and the louder/softer thing.
Well like I said, like Jumbo said, and like AMP said the opera was wack. The repetition of Lex Luger beats can’t even be denied. That’s like telling me the Earth is flat.
And the softer verse+loud chorus formula has been around since..shit I don’t know, I want to say forever.
The crowd was going crazy during the faster parts and choruses. OH WHAT A SURPRISE!

  180. @ jumbo , red was the only person to name names and even though the songs hes talking about have similar drums and bass as HAM nobody has a single with something as different as a opera voice sample during the whole song and on top of some techno sounding sample at the same time. Im sorry but niggas just aint doing no shit like that.

  181. Actually you know what’s funny…Listen to the album version of general Patton by Big Boi and it’s got the opera chorus over a Lex Luger sound-a-like beat. True it’s not a “techno sounding sample” but jeez..

  182. Nigga hating on the album and haven’t even heard it yet.

  183. Congratulations to them for “trying to be different” even while jumping on the Lex Luger bandwagon. But it didn’t work at all, so it’s a failure nonetheless.

  184. The Spiteful Chant > HAM

  185. Nigga dickridin on the album and haven’t even heard it yet.

  186. The single worked people. Just because its not a radio song doesnt mean it didnt work. You think radios gonna play a song with the hook saying “hard as a motha fucka” over and over? NO and for everybody on a blog hating on it just cause they see the name Jayz on it , theres like a million people going crazy for it at a show. @smh you call it dickriding but you are a fan of both these artists and you know it.

  187. No response to General Patton?
And yea right at the radio not playing a song because it has a curse in the chorus.

  188. nigga… all of niggas on this site was dickriding the fuck outta kendrick lamar album before it aint even came out so idk whats wrong witt callin this album a classic now… kanye is a great artist never had a wack hip hop album and jay is a legend .. 40 years and still shittin on ya favorite mainstream artists 2day.. i mean damn what do you get when you mix those 2 together ?? a classic i guess and 4 all you kendrick lamar dickriders on here.. i like that nigga and all but yall overate the shit outta him his album wasnt even all that OD was better than that shit … anyways ill b waiting on this classic album

  189. lmao it worked, you just can’t tell

  190. LMFAO @ marty mcfly’s logic.

So because Jay Z & Kanye sold a buncha albums and have money then EVERYONE is a fan of them and the track HAM? You’re an idiot & a sheep in addition to being pretentious. Does everyone love Steven Speilberg movies cuz they rake in tons of money? Does everyone love Lebron James cuz he won a league MVP? HELL NAH!!CMONSON!!!

  191. @red , I didnt know you reference to the Big Boi song was a question to me or something I needed to respond too. Does that song have a opera thing going on in it? Yes but is it a single? NO @Hidalgo , im not basing my opinion on hype im basing it on ability. Are you saying that Jayz and Kanye havent proven that they make dope music? If you not convinced after 15 solo albums from Jay and 4 dope albums from Kanye then you just crazy. 2nd you people all really like their music and are anticipating hearing the album.

  192. ReturnofForever >>>> This commercial Garbage

  193. It’s not a single because its Big Boi. How many people think that album is a classic or that it was in the top 25 albums of the year. Now name the singles. Shutterbug. Maybe You’re DJ Ain’t No DJ but I’m not sure about that.
If Kanye West and Jay-Z announce a collaborative album, hype up its release for a number of days, release album art before the song is released, and then put out the song its a guaranteed single. That should be obvious to you.

  194. Ooh I apologize, Follow Us was the other single. Which I never heard on the radio once.

  195. Why can’t we all just get along? And why can’t some of us stop talking like our opinions are facts (marty)? I’m not even sure marty is a fan of music, i think hes just a fan of the business behind it. Just enjoy the music and if people wanna say it’s classic or not, thats not affecting any of us. But honestly, theres no point in arguing whether its classic, only time will tell that.

  196. And yes, HAM failed, thats why its a bonus track now and thats why I literally dont know a single person that liked it. But if you like it thats good, just dont pretend that we’re the weird ones for not liking it.

  197. Actually General Patton was a “street single”, which is pretty much exactly what marty mcfly is trying to argue that HAM was.

  198. ^^^ So what? You named one song that didnt even come out this year and was not a single so dont just make up shit. The POINT I was making is if you dont like the song its because Jay and Kanye took a musical risk by jumping on a sound thats different. If you like it cool if not cool , I just pointed out that no other single sounded like HAM this year. End of story now Watch the fucking Throne. Smh at people pretending the dont like Jay and Ye.

  199. @bstyless none of the tracks on this album have been played on the radio, and this album hasn’t even been advertised beyond Internet blogs so I believe this is the most non commercial project either of them have ever been involved in, and I believe it will greater than any project released this decade, but those are just my expectations.

  200. HAM was not a single, you enormous dumbass.

  201. Nobody’s pretending they don’t like Jay and Ye, but MOST people, fans or not, can recognize a terrible failure when they see one. H.A.M. is one of those times.

  202. @JustAFanOfMusic, Didn’t call you a retard. I said your argument was retarded. There is a difference.

  203. @Ape , its the only song to come out off the project this year so it gets treated like a single whether its official or not you fucking monkey.

  204. Lmao little fool, it had better be official, because its literally the only shred of your argument that you’re left clinging to at this point.

  205. red is still the only person that even attempted to prove my argument wrong. The rest of you just name a song thats already been named by red and dismissed by me because that song didnt even come out this year. HAM takes musical risks and no other mainstream artists THIS YEAR as pushed the limits of their music as much as HAM. Now what are you not getting?

  206. Im just gonna fight my own argument by saying Words I never Said took just as much risk musically as HAM. Thats about it though

  207. pushed the limits of their music… more commercially successful than HAM… mainstream artist… this year…

“How To Love” by Lil Wayne

This is where your horrible taste in music takes you, marty mcfly. To songs like How To Love and HAM.

  208. @Birdman at least you came with something so i’ll give you that one. I was never saying you had to like HAM but damn Jay and Kanye going over that beat was crazy. If thats an indication of what some of the nature of the album will be then at least they trying different stuff.

  209. ^
Maybe for the next track they’ll fuck each other. Nobody else is doing anything that gay so it must be good for hip hop! Innovation!

  210. HAM takes musical risks? Compadre, compare H.A.M to Waka Flocka’s album and Juicy J’s mixtape and you get the same beat formula. If anything, they are pushing their musical skills BACKWARDS.

  211. And even though I like lupe and Words I Never Said, that song didn’t do anything that risked anything musically. He didn’t start a damn revolution, the song was going by Eminem’s blueprints.

  212. where the fuck is Just Blaze on this!

  213. @Pauly Dee , Em sucks period. You people still trying ugh? If J Cole made HAM you people would be saying hes the god of rap.

  214. “You people still trying ugh?”

Please don’t tell me you think you’re winning. Do you have any idea how pathetic you look right now?

  215. If J Cole made HAM, I would say that it’s wack. Just like I’m saying the Jay and Ye version is WACK. it failed as a single and got NO play.

    “Em sucks period”

Completely unrelated, but his skill level has nothing to do with what he put out musically (still better than your favorite rapper though). Why did people start coming to Alex Da Kid and Skylar? Because they were both on Eminem-related songs! Therefore setting a blueprint for Atlantic and Lupe to follow

I’m sorry “sir”, but your entire credibility just took one HELL of a Barrel Roll…

  216. I didn’t say he’s been in the game longer the RZA and Premier…you really are an idiot. He’s been producing for Ruff Ryders since he was like 16, the man has to be like 31 now. That’s 15 years. Dickhead. Premier and RZA have not had many if any songs on the radio that has popped in the last 10 years compared to Swizz. You just twist words to win your arguments, you really just can’t admit when you’re wrong about something.

  217. Dont assume what you dont know about songs. Those Eminem songs were already turned downed by other rappers before they got to Em. The only thing Em did was write the verses , the concept and hook was already done. Ham is way better the that bullshit single from BME and HAM was even made for radio in the first place but Lighters was and that shit sucks. Em only sales cause hes white anyway. Every single that Jay or Ye does people say is wack and thats cause people hate to see them win. People said Power and Empire sucked too and thats just retarded.

  218. HAM WASNT made for radio…

  219. @marty mcfly

That last comment was at you btw.

  220. @Airborne what was I wrong about? Nothing fool , you said Premo and Rza cant hold it down in the game as long as Swizz beatz and you were wrong. Now you saying you meant in the last ten years Premo and Rza havent had many songs on the radio and again your wrong again fool. You dont even know their music well enough to say what they’ve done and radio is nation wide 24 hours a day so you dont know whats being played or how many times. Premo got his own radio show fool and he plays all his shit every week. Every Year of their career I could name songs that people heard and liked.

  221. Em only sells cause he’s white? Really? Out of all the hate he’s gotten from his white fans since Relapse. You think he’s selling only because he’s white? No, he’s selling cause he’s making some of the best singles and is playing the field correctly and catering to who he knows are gonna buy his albums. Teenage white girls.

  222. Rza built fucking the Wu tang dynasty bitch and they were here before and after the Ruff Ryder era. Premo is one of the main people who fucking built eastcoast hip hop and the overall sound of early 90s hip hop. Swizz was still a baby when Premo was making big records so think before you speak. @Airhead

  223. @marty mcfly

Are you serious? LOL Hey when you wanna tell me what I said, make sure you quote me dickhead. I said Swizz has has had more tracks that has popped in the mainstream for more consecutive years that Premo, RZA, or Madlib. Anyone who fights me on that is a fucking retard, including you. And your defense is that Premier has HIS own radio show that spins HIS own shit…REALLY? You’re special bro. Never let anyone tell you different. Arguing technicalities formed by words that you yourself are putting in people’s mouths.

  224. “HAM wasn’t made for radio”

According to your logic, it was. Lets see…wack lyrics, bland and catchy hook, Lex Lugar beat…YEAH THAT’S NOT FOR THE RADIO!

And your info stays stupid as hell. No rappers turned down LTWYL because I JUST heard a Skylar interview that says Em heard the song a time later and Alex sent the song to him! I Need A Doctor was also part of that blueprint, because Em had requested that Skylar be on the song. She didn’t write it or anything.

[marty mcfly] DO A BARREL ROLL!

  225. You wanna tell me more shit that happened 20 years ago? I have my notepad. Go on. Start from Cedar ave.

  226. ” Ham is way better the that bullshit single from BME”

You MUST mean Fast Lane right? Because Lighters isn’t even an official single yet…YOU FAIL!

  227. Swizz’s sound evolved and came from the 90s into 2011. Premier’s didn’t make it that far. Suck my dick.

  228. @Airborne , this is what you said – “Swizz has been in the game a while now and still makes tracks that go for about 15 years now. 15 years. Did Premier that? No. Has Madlib done that? No. RZA couldn’t even do it”. Those are your words and you were wrong stupid ass.

  229. YOU GUYS ARE FUCKING STUPID FOR ARGUING WHO GIVES A SHIT?!

  230. What was wrong about that statement? Premier has had how many tracks since the 90s til now that has blown up in the mainstream for how many consecutive years compared to Swizz? I’ll wait. Whatever you say next is gonna be right tho. Cause it always is right?

  231. @Pauley Dee go check your facts again cause you still wrong and it dont matter anyway cause Lupe will shit all over Em lyrically .

  232. @BG, is right too. I’m not even gonna continue. I know when I’m fighting a losing battle so i’m just gonna take this L. It’s still suck my dick tho marty, all day, everyday.

  233. This dude marty mcfly is a troll. We should stop feeding him. I swear your placed here so that we can sit here and argue with you so we just keep refreshing the page when we post. Cause no one is that thick in the head. Product of Complex probably.

  234. If you wanna talk about tracks that have blown up from Swizz thats one thing but Premo has put out double the material for a more consistent amount of time just do the research and see if its true or not. Swizz biggest songs in the last ten years did NOT blow up bigger then Premos. Radio play in america is not the only market for hip hop fool , Premo has been touring around the world consistently playing his music every year with material that came out the same year. Swizz did not , yes in the states Swizz has bigger radio songs but so what Premo has rocked a thousand more shows then him in the last ten years by himself playing his own shit. So who really had bigger songs?

  235. @Airborne and yeah you are fighting a losing battle chump. Go die or something

  236. Marty Mcfly, you stay #winning!

    trollolololol

  237. @Airborne , now go count how many big songs Swizz had on radio and in the streets in the last ten years and then the last 20 years. Then do the same with Premo and see for yourself who has more then STFU cause its not even close.

  238. Who the fuck wants to “win” in the 2dopeboyz comment section? Think about what you guys are doing. Just thought I’d offer some insight. Much love.

  239. fuck @$$$ and @Go Diego Go

  240. Correction now that im really looking at it , it actually is very close. Swizz did have bigger radio songs but Premo had bigger cultural songs. Swizz did produces more beats But Premo had more production credits by himself on albums then Swizz where he only did a few beats. So in the last ten years Swizz was more consistent then Premo but overall Premo has done more in his career. It was just the way he worded it cause Airhead said “Swizz has more beats that go in for about 15 years now. Did Premo do that?” No Premo been doin beats that go for the last 20 years. So I took it as you said it until you later came back and changed your statement. Just saying

  241. In case you guys haven’t noticed, @marty mcfly is one of those ultimately annoying douchbags that will talk out of his ass and change his point around a million times in order to convince himself that he’s right. It’s made even worse by his humiliating lack of a social life, which leaves him trolling this site literally all day long, desperately trying to bait people into arguments, because that’s his only hope for attention of any kind. My recommendation would be to just save your time, treat him like any other troll, and leave him to his own ignorance.

  242. That was cute but the points people use to make a argument are light then they claim that my points are wrong but hardly ever say why or point out how im wrong and dont let me ask a question cause they almost never get answered without trying to twist what I asked. You just seen Airhead say that Premo doesnt make songs that “go” then he came back and said he doesnt make “radio” songs that go. As far as me changing my points , when you can point out where then you make sense but making claims you cant back up is pointless.

  243. This is the progression of a typical marty mcfly argument-

    1) Starts with a general, ignorant statement

“As for HAM , who the hell else is making shit that sounds like that?”

    2) Get proven wrong a million times.
    3) Narrow your point down and pretend nobody notices.
    4) Repeat steps 2 and 3 several times.
    5) Catch lots of feelings.
    6) End up with something like this:

“So what? You named one song that didnt even come out this year and was not a single so dont just make up shit. The POINT I was making is if you dont like the song its because Jay and Kanye took a musical risk by jumping on a sound thats different. If you like it cool if not cool , I just pointed out that no other single sounded like HAM this year. End of story now Watch the fucking Throne. Smh at people pretending the dont like Jay and Ye.”

  244. @HIIHIH , so what are you saying? Cause I kept the same point and I even gave credit to the 2 people who actually TRIED to give some examples of songs but I maintained my point the whole time. Both statements you pointed out from me , say the same thing. Try again

  245. Point A- Nobody else is making music that sounds like H.A.M.

Point B- No other MAINSTREAM artists have dropped a SINGLE, THIS YEAR, that sits OUTSIDE THE ARTIST’S COMFORT ZONE, and sounds like H.A.M.

Can you spot the differences yet? You change your point around every time you get owned, which is pretty damn often.

  246. Let me recap my points and put out what I said exactly.

    1. As for HAM , who the hell else is making shit that sounds like that? The song had some shit that sounded like the theme song from Night Rider and then some opera sounding shit.. OK here I pointed out what I thought was different.

    2. What singles came out this year that are better then HAM in terms of being aggressive and using a different sound? Dont worry ill wait… OK then I brought up the words SINGLE and THIS YEAR first.

    3. @red , ok thats your opinion and thats cool but still to me I dont think nobody else has a single out like HAM. It got the opera part in it , that part that sounds like the theme from Knight Rider during the verses…. Then I again brought up specific sounds that make the song different.

    4. These are all things that make HAM different from everybody else so if you dont like it cool but you gotta respect them challenging themselves with that kind of beat…. Then I again repeated my point , which stayed consistent the whole time I spoke about HAM.

This is the kind of shit im talking about so again HIIHIIH , How did my points change because if they did I have no problem admitting where I made a mistake. However I just dont see one ( In that particular debate about HAM )

  247. I didn’t say your points contradict each other, only that they change, as you just detailed in your little breakdown. You like to shift the goalposts by posing one question, getting several answers, then pointing out the differences between the answers and the subject, as if you had been more specific in the first place. But since your internet-geek narcissism will most likely make my comments completely useless (because you clearly can’t accept being wrong), I’m gonna go ahead and write this one off. Have a great night refreshing this page, hoping for more attention.

  248. Ok I could further discuss where your wrong but im done at this point. Ill just say go back and read how at first people named artists but not specific songs so I then said SINGLES and THIS YEAR so people can be more specific. Then go look at how many times I agree with points other people made as far as songs that had similar drums and bass ( even when they were still off ). Then I said red made a good point about the opera thing in Big Bois song ( that didnt come out this year and was not a single ) Then later in a unrelated debate look at how Airhead change his statement from songs that “go” from Premo in the last 15 years to “Radio” songs that go from Premo , in comparison to Swizz. So I then went back and said that Swizz DID HAVE more radio songs ( even though we all know Premo has never even tried to make mainstream music ) and that came after the statement from Airhead was changed. So I really dont have a problem giving people the benefit of the doubt so I really doubt I have a problem accepting IF or WHEN I COULD be wrong. From now on ill keep my statements short and very easy to comprehend and see if you can understand at this point and NO this comment is in no way saying that the opinions I gave were wrong , only that YOU misunderstood them. Good nite

  249. H.A.M was a solid song. I took it to be a test of the waters in a sense of “How weird are we allowed to get with this album?” That’s why there’s no Madlib here. And I honestly don’t think Madlib’s style is tailored towards these two. Leave Madlib to Mos and DOOM.
Was HAM the greatest song of all time? No. Did it change the game? No. But guys, let’s remember…its not even on the final tracklisting of the album. It only made it as a bonus track. That’s a pretty luscious track to be just a bonus…am I wrong? When’s the last time a Billboard Top 25 lead single didn’t even make the album final cut? So rest assured the album probably isn’t going to sound much like H.A.M regardless.

Also, how can there be any skepticism in the beats/production of this album? Every single album Kanye’s ever put out has had flawless production. People can get on him for his lyrics or his songwriting but you guys can’t seriously think that the production value on Watch the Throne will be disappointing. Everyone is avoiding the elephant in the room. Jay-Z. He’s the weak link in all of this. We know Kanye is going to deliver b/c of his track record…Dropout, Late Registration, Graduation, and Fantasy are all good to great/arguably classic. Agreed? Jay’s last effort Blueprint 3 was eh. So the WTT album really hinges on how hard Jay comes. The beats will be there, Kanye will be Kanye. Its all up to Jay. His high points are as high as anyone (“Thank You”) but his low points are very very bad (“Haters”).

  250. i actually liked HATERS , thats the song that got me excited for them to do a collab album because their playful chemistry and the way they bounced off each other in that song…

  251. I agree ear2ear. It rests all on Jay, because all Kanye has to handle is production. We already know that he can be hit or miss with his lyrics.

HIIHIIH must take lessons from Sheenster. #winning.

  252. they end up just gettin rid off bruno mars? thank god. oh and SECTION 80 was the first classic album of 2011, get hip

  253. lol HIIHIIH is so right

  254. S1 got that heat!!!!
    Soul Kontrollaz Productions!!!

  255. I have to agree with the above statement, Thank you showed the best of Jay Z as did other joints like A Star Is Born & Empire State Of Mind, but low points were Haters, Reminder & Off That UGH. I’m looking forward to this record but lets see if the chemistry is there.

But to shed light, In the past Kanye/Jay Z songs have been DOPE I.e. Never Let Me Down, Diamonds From Sierra Leone, Run This Town just to name a few.

Its time to up the ante fellas cause heavy hitters are coming out to play.

  256. I don’t care what you say…this album won’t touch “Distant Relatives” with a 80 foot pole. Go head with that garbage H.A.M!

  257. @Pauly Dee , NO be serious and people implying that Jay is the weak link because of lyrical ability? Please go listen to BP3 again because alot of your favorite new rappers are just rhyming but saying nothing specific. No need to debate about it just go back and listen to the first 11 songs off BP3.

  258. ^ I’m not saying Jay-Z is the weak link. I’m also saying he can be the strong link. He’s inconsistent is my point. At least we know what Kanye will bring to the table and that he won’t allow the production to be a disappointment. And yeah…I’ve listened to BP3. We all have. Apart from a few tracks here and there his flow was lazy. And my favorite rappers are DOOM, Andre, & Mos so take that “he’s saying more than your fave rapper” talk somewhere else. I think most people will agree with me on BP3 but if you were feeling it then that’s good for you. Most weren’t.

I really liked “Thank You.” I thought lyrically he brought it. And I liked “The Joy.” But if he comes like he did in “Monster” or “I’m so Appalled” then he will definitely be the weak link. He can’t try to emulate Kanye. Needs to do big brother Jay like the years past. Diamonds, Never Let Me Down etc…that’s what will catapult this album to higher levels…not whether DJ Premier or Swizz Beatz produced a singular track on it.

  259. I liked American Gangster more then BP3 but I think people just hold jay to a standard that is higher then everyone else. People expect every single line to be dope and thats because we all know hes that good. If his lyrics from BP3 or any of his albums were written down on paper and explained to people so they understood what he was saying , I think people would give him way more credit. @ear2ear , your favorite rappers are more inconsistent then Hov. Just saying

  260. Damn, I thought I was the only one who thought Jay’s verse on I’m So Appalled wasn’t that good…

  261. Hahahaha his lyrics don’t need to be written down on a paper and explained to me man hahaha. It isn’t that complicated dude. You’re acting like Jay-Z wrote an epic poem like Milton with Paradise Lost. He’s a rapper man. His lyrics on BP3 were uninspired IMO. So agree to disagree. On the other side of things, I wasn’t arguing aboutnmy favorite rappers being more consistent than Jay. He’s not “saying more than my favorite rapper.” I said Jay-Z isn’t touching any of them in terms of content and message. Especially in present time. So go back and re-read that just like you had to go and go back and re-read that Venus vs. Mars was a corny metaphor for women and men. Hahaha…bc it was so so deep and complicated. I’m out.

  262. So Monster and So appalled is what you consider weak from Jay? Ok ill take that cause those two songs were some of the biggest songs last year. I dedicate the disgust in Jays voice during his verse on So appalled to you guys cause your the kind of people he was addressing. As for monster , Jayz – none of you niggas have seen the things that ive seen , I still hear fiends scream in my dreams. Then later , the shot at Beans – All I see is these niggas that I made millionairs spilling they feelins in the air. Those verses also had other lines that flew over peoples head ( unlike hammer 30 million cant hurt me ) but if thats what some of you think is Jay at his weak points thats cool cause that still makes him a problem.

  263. @ear2ear , Jay isnt touching the rappers you named as far as content and message? Ok im gonna leave American Gangster outta this and just name songs off BP3.

What We talking about = The question fans never wanna ask their favorite rappers
D.O.A = really was the death of autotune
A Star is Born = Where arguably the greatest MC gives props to other MCs
Venus vs Mars = Not the best track on BP3 but damn this is just the relationship song.
So Ambitious = inspirational with a message
    Forever Young = More messages

And I left out alot of lines with messages from other songs and this is all from just one album. So or you sure Jay cant compete with messages in the music? You just gonna say these songs dont have messages but in reality they have very strong and relevant and constructive messages. Your favorite rappers jump from subject matter to subject matter alot in the same song , only making their message confusing. Jay gives you a full thought broken down so the message is understood to the fullest.

  264. @ear2ear , lets take Venus vs Mars the song you probably consider the weakest on BP3
Jay used 2 tracks for every verse to have a conversation with himself ( innovation for him cause he never really id that b4 ) Then he made every line a double entendre , then he turned the conversation about relationships into a back n forth argument about the yin and yang of a couple by turning their issues into metaphors. Cmonson , thats Jays girl song. Im done homie you can have the win cause I dont even need to win another debate. Its just too easy at this point. ONE

  265. Who cares!? We understand that that was shot at Beans but who the fuck cares man!? I don’t care that Jay-Z was a drug dealer before he was a rapper. I know that because he’s mentioned it a gazillion times. Its funny you bring up “So Appalled” b/c Jay proves my point in his own lyrics.

“All of ya’ll can suck my balls through my drawers.”
Weak garbage line. Very amateur at best.

“More victories is for minor league coaches. And Ye already told we major cockroaches.”

He’s admitting that now that he’s made it he’s basically stopped trying to take over the game. Hahaha…so basically he’s telling guys like you, Mr. Marty McFly, that he doesn’t put any effort into his raps anymore. Also he doesn’t care about “wins”…which is fine. But its obvious, he’s not as invested into rap. I do think WTT will bring out the best of Jay. I’m not saying Jay-Z is wack…I am saying that he has be lackluster as of late.

“But would you rather be underpaid or overrated?”

How does it feel that your boy Jay basically admitted that he’s overrated? But he doesn’t care because any Jay-Z fan knows the theme of his music is that he’s a hustler first, rapper second. So the real question is do you understand what Jay is talking about Marty McFly. He doesn’t care about the quality but rather the price tag that it amounts to. And that’s fine. That’s why I liked Jay in the first place.

“All these niggas bitches too big for their britches burning they fucking bridges…”
Another wack line man. Just because it rhymes doesn’t mean its great bro. It definitely doesn’t mean its complicated either.

“Not only am I fly, I’m fucking not playin (plane)”

Wow. That one flew over all of our heads man. Hahahaha.

With all that said, I think Jay will come hard on WTT. In all seriousness. Because as much as he says the “haters” (more like critics) don’t get to him, for him to address t in almost every song, means it has. And I think he really wants to show up Kanye. Not in a begrudgingly way but in a “hold up, I’m still Jay.” And although I didn’t like his verse on “HAM” I loved his verses on “The Joy” and “That’s My Bitch.” So I think he’s making resurgence Marty McFly.

  266. @ear2ear , Jay has always taking shots at himself because hes never been afraid to expose his “achilles heel” – which he even said on Monster. Because this move humanizes him and lets you know that he doesnt think hes perfect. Hes not saying he doesnt care for the art of rap. Hes made too many albums and he still going almost ten years after saying he was thinking about retiring. Thats just the love for hip hop , if you think hes thinking about money at this point thats just silly. Now go back to BP3s weakest song Venus vs Mars , he again clowns himself because he doesnt take himself that serious when he doesnt have too. Jayz – Thought we could takeover then I caught her bumpin Ether. This is Jay taking shots at himself but hes not saying he doesnt try anymore.

  267. No dude, Jay has an ego man. All rappers do. Its impossible to be a rapper and not have a huge huge ego. Look at Q-Tip. Conscious rapper with a huge ego. But that’s what makes him great man. Its def about money for Jay man. Come on? He’s releasing books advertising his older raps and is building Roc Nation…how is that not about money. Jay is moving onto bigger and better things outside of hip-hop. Hip-Hop is no longer his livelihood…its a hobby. But I think on WTT he became rededicated. So I’m excited.

  268. I will say that since The Black Album Hov hasn’t been the same. IMO the main reason for that is he realized he was pushing 40 (is now over 40) and isn’t in the streets anymore. Just b/c he can make it sound clever and shit on every other rapper when he talks about hustling doesn’t mean it motivates him anymore. He even said himself in an interview a few months ago that he is having trouble rapping about being rich and other subjects besides hustling. The whole reason he still does it, besides loving it and being addicted to it, is b/c he wants the culture to grow and get even bigger. He doesn’t want rap to go the way of Rock did after the 80′s (hair metal, van halen). I heard him say several times that all rappers should want to leave it in better condition than when they came into it. So what if he’s older, richer, smarter, and can’t relate to regular people. I didn’t listen to him for that anyway. I always checked for Jay b/c of his witty wordplay. The double and triple entendres, the similes (he has always hardly ever used “like” which is hard to do when comparing things), the metaphors, all that shit. Jay isn’t going to reinvent the wheel. He’s just continued setting the trends as always and now he’s talking people out of their rims and putting us up on that grown folks game. He’s just always been good at seeing things from his point of view, and relating them to us regular folk so we can apply it, use it, whatever. IMO he has had trouble transitioning to the current Jay, but in the past year and a half he has done nothing but up the ante and that includes BP3 for me. He killed every song on their even if the songs weren’t my favorite. The beats may not have held their own next to him which is rare for Jay b/c he picks some insane beats usually. But the shit that he did right…WHOOO!!! Thank You, DOA, Run This Town, On 2 the Next One, Empire, Already Home (c’mon son), Reminder (was just used for Hangover 2 over a year later b/c it’s catchy and he’s talking big shit), and V vs M (countless commercials and a fav of every chick who has listened to it so it did what it was supposed to do). Anyone else who puts out an unbelievably hyped album and has that many great songs on it would be hailed as the next big thing. But we aren’t talking about just anyone are we. lol

  269. To the parties involved in the discussion, you will never win a debate with a blind fan. Don’t waste your time. $0.02

  270. Maybe biased but def not blind.

  271. Wats the name of the track that flex played on radio to it had a sample anyone know the name

  272. Otis Redding – Try A Little Tenderness

  273. I got to say, in theory this album should be the shit, but the songs ive heard so far are just not doing it for me. It just doesn’t have there soul in, it sounds like they got together put together tracks as fast as they could to get a cd out…i sincerely hope im wrong and the album is way better than H.A.M or this song

  274. @DJ daz one- Jays verse on Haters is fucking crazy dude wtf are you talking about, “Al Roker I used to knock pounds off”

  275. Otis is a sick release n it makes me think back to that old school shit

  276. to go off topic a bit, BP3, while good lyrically, is fucking embarassingly corny music-wise.

  277. Kendrick Lamar. Section 80. High Power.
