In the last part of J. Cole’s sit down with Rap-Up he speaks on releasing a new mixtape before Cole World: The Sideline Story drops, working with Wale on Bad Girls Club and his desire to produce for Jay-Z, Jay Electronica, Rihanna and Willow Smith.

9/27 COLE WORLD
J. Cole throw “Work Out” off the album, It’s a terrible song. You can appeal to the mainstream with something better, A la “Lights Please”. Can’t already have a skippable track on an album that I was anticipating as classic.
The mixtape only need to be like 10 tracks and i hope he gone have some features on it since none on the album
no one cares.
This move was necessary. The single is getting a lukewarm reception and if he has tracks that didn’t make the cut…free them. It’s crazy that we live in an age where his album is only 2 months or so away and fans still need something before then
great new.
More Cole music is always welcomed.
9/27 Greatness
As fans you want him to stay true to the idea we have of him. He has larger goals though. In The Morning should have been a huge radio record. I know I didn’t hear it all that much but that could be promotion as much as anything. Roc Nation seems to be waiting for something to catch naturally. I don’t think J. Cole makes records that will do that yet. I also think the beats he gave Kendrick and XV are of higher quality than some of the stuff he keeps. As an artist that produces you have to keep the heaviest artillery for your own release. Give your boys the B-side beats.
Big Sean said that too but he didn’t release it
this nigga got the hype can he deliver?
Rick have you heard his mixtapes? Any way, always happy to hear new music from Cole. If this pushes Cole World back though, it’s not worth it. My suggestion would be to make one or two club/radio hits. Nothing ground breaking just something to create more mass appeal. It will increase his sales and keep record execs from fucking with the album too much.
everything TVA just said. they don’t promote Cole nearly enough. Labels dictate what goes on the radio
KENDRICK LAMAR.. got the Internet going nuts right now. J COLE, step your game up!!
You guys are a bunch of morons when it comes to J. Cole. Work Out is a huge hit right now, number 6 on iTunes hip hop. If he can release his video for it in soon, then it has the potential to be a top 10 hit. I DJ at clubs on weekends and whenever I play Work Out people come up to me and ask about he song and why it isn’t all over the radio. Just because it isn’t pleasing you “hip hop heads” doesn’t mean its a flop. I think Work Out is the 2011 version of Slow Jamz.
ya’ll gotta check out this contest for Karmaloop:

stupid fukin sheep won’t be complaining about workout when its on the radio 100 times a day… when everybody else starts listening to it, you’re gonna follow right along… you’re gonna say “oh, its not that bad of a song now”… when all your friends start liking it, you’re gonna like it too… because you won’t have the balls to speak your opinion in fear of not being cool smh
j cole is getting bigger, and although everyones blaming the labels and jay, it’s definately helping.
Most of you probabyl heard of cole via jay-z, and the fact roc nation is linked to live nation is the reason j coles done the wireless festival over here 2 years runnnig, supporting rihanna, and massive tinie tempah gigs.
Smh at 2011 version of slow jamz? you said that bc you heard Cole comparing them in another interview i bet. I’m a big J. Cole fan but that single isn’t even catchy. Much less a hit
Actually it is pretty catchy. I think it would be more catchy if an actual singer was on the hook and the bridge though.
OK this move could change things if he really does put out another tape. You should know by now that sometimes I want to punch this dude right in the face for dropping the ball when he supposed to be the most anticipated artists by now BUT. Heres the thing with me , I can not stand his mixtapes other then about 3 songs both his mixtapes sound really bad to me. Everybody else seems to like them so it put him in a good space especially since he was able to tour and do a video for In The Morning. IF he puts out a mixtape and its really good that could throw some serious momentum his way and set up the album nicely. The one thing that always confused me about J cole and the main reason why I dont like most his music is this. Listen to his voice , he has a big voice and delivery so why the fuck does he rarely show any aggression? He picks these soft and delicate beats and that shit just drives me crazy. If he can show some aggression on his next tape that would be a very good thing for him at this point. If I was Jayz I would have been told Cole stop making your own beats , your getting in the lab with Just Blaze and thats final.
marty, shut the fuck up, for real
cant wait for this, hopin for just some raw straight hip hop shit before the album
Work Out is a feel-good-ladies-get-in-free-before-10pm-chillin-during-the-intermission-of-a-DJ-playing-too-many-fast-songs-perfect-opportunity-to-go-spit-game-to-another-nigga-bitch-while-he-either-tryna-order-drinks-or-in-the-bathroom-taking-a-leak…type of song.
I say all that to say this: It’s catchy enough that you can HEAR it over and over again without actually LISTENING, and just vibe of the beat.
The song is not great, its not bad, but it fills a niche. Get over it. If you don’t like it, it’s probably because you take piss breaks when it comes on. Hint fuckin Hint.
I hope it happens but feel as though every rapper will start stating they got a tape coming out before the album and nothing will come from it
Im not gonna hype the tape, Big Sean said he was gonna drop a tape before Finally Famous…what happened to that?
this nigga is gonna need a miracle for people to get back on board with his BS music. I’ve even see that some of his diehard dickriders have turn their backs on A. Hole, rightfully so. the nigga said he shot a video for “work out”, that nigga just went suicidal. a video for “work out” is not gonna change the fact that the song is wack on all levels. this nigga is a herb with all these self dick sucking interviews. yeah, A. Hole, do us all a favor and keep dropping these mediocre mixtapes. A. HOLE YOU PAPOOSED YOUR SELF!!!
NYC/BROOKLYN and marty mcfly have their dicks so far up their assholes that they are sneezing cum. that is all.
i think you all forgot how dope friday night lights is.
J. Cole is dope because all comments rather good or bad all relate to him! thanks for you continued support. Cole World: The Sideline Story, September 27, 2011. Get in where you fit in.
@Satan , you just mad cause you know the shit is true. Dudes album should be called the basketball diaries.
Marty fuck that, lol. you know damn well this nigga A. Hole is planning to remake that Kurtis Blow “basketball” joint.

CASE IN POINT:
http://www.2dopeboyz.com/2011/07/02/j-cole-%E2%80%93-work-out-live-video/
“I was gonna avoid 2DBZ on this glorious holiday weekend. I figured let the children go outside. breathe God’s winds and absorb God’s light. I had bible studies earlier this afternoon, yes the nigga NYC/BROOKLYN has a pair of church shoes. I’m not gonna go in depth of what passages of the bible the Rev was giving knowledge on, but one example was about a brother name Simon that was chosen to help Jesus carry the cross. it’s kind of ironic that another live video performance of the song “work out” shows up again on 2DBZ. is this a force feeding frenzy that’s going on? the song gets worse after every listen. to that knuckle saying “give this song a month and i promise it will on the Hot 100″. really? who are you? A. Hole’s conscience? give the song one more month and A. Hole’s career is gonna be hanging in the balance. just look at this nigga performing the song, he looks uncomfortable and hesitant to even finish the BS song. the expression on the keyboard guy in the beginning is priceless. this nigga arms are on his side looking at A. Hole like don’t do it nigga, don’t…awww fuck, not this work out shit again! the crowd is reacting like my bible study crew this afternoon. Rev was kickin’ wisdom and throwing in his personal problems in the mix and we like, nah Rev we was told this was some free community service class, get that money basket out of my face and keep it moving. this “work out” BS is embarrassing like them hillbilly jim vests this nigga is rockin’. just look at the body language of the keyboard guy throughout the performance. reminds what I said earlier about the bible study subject on Simon. the keyboard guy could of helped out, but he’s gonna stay in the sideline and be a witness to a crucifixion. A. HOLE YOU PAPOOSED YOURSELF!”"
@NYC/BK , Lmao !!!! That shit was too funny but on another note I bet Scram Jones next EP Wasted Talent will be way better then Coles next mixtape and album. And before you judge the title just know Scram has produced on several multi platinum albums and lyrically will give you the same facial expression Cole has in the video before you press play on it. I aint completely counting him out but if I hear one more mediocre track…
the crowd is reacting like my bible study crew this afternoon// nah Rev we was told this was some free community service class, get that money basket out of my face and keep it moving LMAO
playa!!1 i got the same wierd voice in my head every time i read nyc Brooklyn posts, begins and ends the same always has a theme lmao
DUDE EVEN HAS HIS OWN HATER SQUAD!
Black Snow(Same post):
“WHEN THERE’S NYC/BROOKLYN, ONE CAN EXPECT BLACK SNOW IS COMING.
IM HERE, WHO SUMMONS ME?”
nyc brookyn u white or black? you got humor of a black dude but grammer and puntuation like a white guy
^^^
Actually, the best comments came from BIG GHOSTFACE back in like January/February. Those comments shit all over anything nyc/brooklyn could ever attempt to create.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfCD56mv2WI
wtf
i don’t get all the hate on ‘work out’…. i mean it isn’t amazing by any means or lyrical or anything…. but i love bumping it in the whip. and my favorite j. cole was in his ‘the warm up’ days, i haven’t been feeling his new stuff as much, i like it, but i don’t love it like i did ‘the warm up’.
nyc/brooklyn definitely has the best comments on the site.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d85I5hbGWlQ
best drive thru prank ever
in before its viral
“. i mean it isn’t amazing ” describes jcoles whole career
nyc/bitch is a hater. i can not wait for j cole to release his classic album to shut this hater up. work out is not bad coming from a soon to be classic album. here in the UK we respect hip hop.
, yes the nigga NYC/BROOKLYN has a pair of church shoes.
im guessing hes black
dude needs to make his own site funny dude
“Actually, the best comments came from BIG GHOSTFACE back in like January/February.”
^^This. Ghostface was funny AF!! Dude had me LITERALLY rollin on the floor!
But, marty mcfly, why don’t you just come out and SAY you don’t like J Cole. I have no problem with you guy, but you’re starting to follow the pattern of NYC/BROOKLYN. Either you like him or you don’t, but don’t pretend like you’re in the middle. Thats two-faced as fuck and kind of shows your personality.
@Pauley Dee , you talking about me being two face? Put it like this Cole is a good artist that doesnt always make good music ( TO ME ). That in itself is two different factors so it would make sense for me to be in the middle with my opinion. Like I said before , I dont like or hate J cole. With him im judging song for song cause most of his songs are not good IMO but then you got songs that are. Ive been spoke on the songs I like before.
Blow Up
Im on it
See it to Believe it
Too Deep for the intro
Return of Simba
Work out ( yeah if you go back youll see that I said I like this track )
Im coming Home
How high
Now thats just 7 songs outta all his shit so it would make sense that im not really a fan but I still like a little bit of his music. Cole has been promoting himself for like 4 years , if you give any artist that much time and their also signed by your favorite artist ( Jayz ) your naturally gonna want them to win but also get pissed when you hear a bad song from that artist ( 95% of FNL was just not that dope ). Cole puts down good lyrics over beats that suck and that in itself is gonna give people two opinions.
^^
Villematic wasn’t dope? See World wasn’t dope? His verse on Looking For Trouble wasn’t dope? Simba isn’t dope?
-_-
there’s a certain individual in this site who has been disrespecting J. Cole for years now. I’m not gonna go into specifics who I am. I’ve been with this phenomenal musical artist J. Cole from the beginning of this journey, from being signed to Rocnation to being in the studio wrapping up his upcoming debut release album. we have been taking notes of the hatred this certain individual has been posting. we respect all criticisms, positive and especially the negatives, but when criticisms go beyond hate, we kind of take it personal. J. Cole has addressed this individual on a few of his songs in his mixtapes. he did not address the person by name, but we know this individual by his comments has a clue shots were fired in his direction. J. Cole does frequent this site and other sites that supports him. he does these interviews for his fans, not solely for promotions. we want to thank the fans for being patient. come 9/27 team Cole World will deliver a classic.
@ 9/27 the fact that you went as far as POSING as an official J.Cole Representative to try and big him up is straight up pathetic. Like…. embarrassingly pathetic. Is shit that serious to you? Get a life dog.
