Lauryn Hill – Ready or Not Live (Video)

L Boogie took to the stage at LA Rising today to perform Ready or Not (up top) and Doo Wop (down bottom). The closest we’ve gotten to a full fledged Fugees reunion? *cues up Talib’s Ms. Hill Spotted YK2.

(2)Deep: Giancana Rap – Rarities, Features & B-Sides

Logo

Kool Giancana Rap. What more can be said about this legendary MC that most don’t already know? Juice Crew member. Check. [He was inducted into the Juice Crew solely off It's A Demo]. Invented Mafioso Rap. Check. Pioneered multi(syllable) raps. Yes. Laid the entire groundwork for some of your favorite rappers, including NaS, Big Pun, Biggie, Black Thought, Pharoahe Monch and more. Please believe it. Acknowledge the rep. While you should all have his three albums with DJ Polo from the late 80s / early 90s, as well as his solo efforts (4, 5, 6, Roots of Evil, The Giancana Story and his latest, Riches, Royalty, Respect), there is quite a list of unreleased singles, B-Sides and features that surprisingly are way off the radars, ranging from rare to extremely rare. While this is not a complete compilation of all that, it’s a great start to add to your collection. Maybe I’ll put together a part two if I can find enough time to dig through my crates. For now, enjoy a dosage of cold chillin’ rare and unreleased cuts. Download and tracklist after the jump.

Kool G Rap & NaS – Holla Back [This specific version can only be found on a white label, not the same as the version on 'The Giancana Story']

Kool G Rap – Hey Mister Mister [Rare white label rumored to be bootlegged & pressed by Stretch Armstrong. Scrapped from '4, 5, 6' due to the violent and misogynistic lyrics]

Kool G Rap – I Declare War [off the rare 'Juice Crew EP' put out by DWG. Marley Marl says this previously unreleased gem surpasses 'It's a Demo'. Now that's something!]
