  1. Who exactly didnt see this coming?

  2. Things are looking good for Shady. Looking forward to that Yelawolf album too.

  3. now if the slaughterhouse album ends up doing these kind of numbers first week, i’ll be satisfied.

  4. it still amazes me that ppl expected this to move MASSIVE units for a 12 track album …. for an EP, and royce not being a household name to some ppl (YET), this did pretty much what we expected it to do, and it was exactly what the ppl wanted.

  5. @thefactz. why?

  6. If this is any indication of the appeal that this has. Even with D12 there were bigger numbers (true times were different then) but I fail to believe that Slaughterhouse will be successful with or without Eminem.

  7. the EP is straight garbage

  8. It’s been a long time coming for Royce. I’m glad that people will maybe and/or witnessing his craft as an MC now. He deserves it. For Em, it’s pretty much expected, but still Props.

  9. UMMMMM since when did an EP constitute 12 records? 12 Records is a fucking album. EP = some say anything 7 or less; some say 9 or less. a 12 record album is definitely an LP. (although in the digital age of music, EP and LP are basically irrelevant terms)

As for the actual album……I wouldn’t waste my money on it. I don’t see Eminem and Royce producing any records that will contain anything of value outside of their respecitive rapping abilities.

  10. how much did williams cd sell?????????????????????????????????????????????/

  11. Do u guys really still like this? IMO, it was good for a couple spins, but after that… I just cant listen to the same verses over and over again. Plus, Im kinda totally over punchline rap by now.

  12. the ep was boring, somoe flows were just not needed and some lines were straight up stupid just my opinion

  13. No surprise here..from what I’ve heard some people are happy with this project or say it’s wack. In my opinion this project is the SHIT for two reasons. 1) It’s something from Bad Meets Evil that we can listen to besides Scary Movies lol .. 2) Both of these Emcees are dope..I haven’t listened to all of the CD and I can imagine that there’s probably some pointless flows and such but why not? They’re having fun with rapping, not trying to change the world, not trying to have you relate. They just want you to be like DAMN, did he just say what I think he said?

  14. It`s a EP because it`s 9 songs and 3 bonus tracks. And yes this was expected. But it`s one of the best projects put out this year so far. This EP is for lovers of LYRICS,not gimmics.

  15. Expected, yet still kind of surprising considering there’s hardly even one stand out track – just several ‘solid’ tracks.

  16. That is not that good for eminem and ya’ll know why ? Because most of the people don’t know who is in Bad Meets Evil

  17. I don’t know why everyone keeps saying 12 songs. There are 9 plus two bonus songs ya big dummies. 9+2 = 11

    1. “Welcome 2 Hell”
    2. “Fast Lane”
    3. “The Reunion”
    4. “Above the Law”
    5. “I’m on Everything” (featuring Mike Epps)
    6. “A Kiss”
    7. “Lighters” (featuring Bruno Mars)
    8. “Take from Me”
    9. “Loud Noises” (featuring Slaughterhouse)

    Deluxe Edition bonus tracks
    10. “Living Proof”
    11. “Echo”

  18. LMAO @ ALL THE DUMBASS NIGGAS IN HERE

    co-sign BigBabyJesus36!!

  19. FLOOOOOOOOOOOOP, and no wonder, boring ass LP

it shows you where the industry is if selling 166k is amazing according to mtv

  20. A little surprised.. I expected at least 200K sales first week.. Somebody mentioned could be a problem with the branding.. if you were in a store and just saw “Bad Meets Evil” and on a quick glance didn’t recognize Em, you might think it’s a new artist..

Sales will go up once word spreads, Fast Lane is a solid track and “Lighters” will blow up on pop radio cuz of the Brun Mars hook..

  21. If you guys take into account whoever was in second place (don’t quite remember right now), they sold less than 166k.. Hence, one can’t really say that 166K in todays market is not an accomplishment for an EP that is more like a collection of tracks as opposed to a full feature album.

And Royce/Slaughterhouse now have a platform in which their names are brought to a new light. They’re already set to do better than the 55k they sold on KOCH.

  22. This EP is for lovers of LYRICS,not gimmics.

    —————————————

Dumbest shit I’ve read all year. Go listen to some Pharoahe Monch or Tonedeff or something. Eminem & Royce were great lyricists. Still are, at times.. But this? Really? Lol.

  23. …and if punchlines is what your looking for as a “lover of lyrics”, at least wait for Vakill’s album.. Cus neither Em nor Royce is very good with the punchlines, they just use them a lot.. And it’s getting really fucking annoying.

    Sorry to be the hater.

Fast Lane & The Reunion is solid though. Mostly because of the flows and the fact that Eminem finally managed to deliver verses not sounding like a screaming faggot on Reunion, just like the good ol’ days.. Lyrics are decent at times.

  24. Okay…I’ve read EXACTLY SIX reviews for this EP and it’s being vastly praised. So if anyone is actually saying its a wack CD, they don’t like lyrics or they just don’t like anything Eminem associated. Good for Royce though. His first number one.

Anyways, I predict that this will go platinum by…maybe October…All it takes is the Lighters video on MTV and BET and it’s basically set in stone.

  25. This album is hot garbage. Absolutely Zero Swagger. I call it a hot mess! OWHE

  26. Honestly it was good.

  27. not really, it was O-K, lets not go overboard most songs are way to mainstream sounding for a CD called bad meets evil….i was expecting menacing beats and lyrics (like from bad meets evil off the slim shady lp). This is more stereotypical mainstream beats and semi-wack punchlines & metaphors

  28. which is sad, bc i was really looking forward to this project

  29. good for royce…wish he could do those numbers on his own he deserves it.

  30. Played it a few times. Gets redundant fast. Should’ve been a mixtape. Good numbers if your Jay Cole, but even number one don’t mean shit.

  31. I don’t even like Eminem, never have, but even I can recognize BME is a solid album. Only like 2 throwaway songs(Bruno? lol).

166k, in this economy? With everyone and they mama on mediafire now? Shiiiit, if it was an Em solo release, it might sound bad. You must be crazy if you think those are bad #’s for Roycey’s mainstream debut! Also, Fast Lane video is a trippp

  32. “It`s a EP because it`s 9 songs and 3 bonus tracks.”

Yet Kanyes latest album had 11 songs and 2 interludes and was an LP. I’m so confused.

  33. hands down one of the greatest projects year to find its way on the charts.

  34. dont see why people sayin this is greatest project of the year. have u not checked the nas illmatic tribute by elzhi?

  35. The album was decent on the first couple spins, but that wears off really quickly. I’m sick of artists making a bunch of random ass songs and compiling them and calling it an album. What happen to the albums having an overall concept? There are no more rap artistic rap artists.

  36. When did it become 12 tracks. It’s 9 tracks and 2 are bonus.

  37. i don’t know why people are STILL expecting Scary Movies/Nuttin To Do or The SLim Shday EP (or LP) when Eminem has CLEARLY changed his style, become MORE successful since The Eminem Show… and Recovery was proof that he’s not going back (even though i thought that was his worse album), only moving forward whether you like it or not. i HATE commercial rap, but i would rather play this EP from beginning to end than play the bullshit that yall continue to hate while that continues to sell.

BTW, 9 tracks (+ 2 bonus tracks) are considered an EP to Eminem when his albums are usually 17-20 tracks, regardless of what you compare this to from another artist. With that said, I’m done commenting… back to getting money and listening to the shit i love while yall STILL complain, LOL.

  38. This EP is dope. Fuck the haters. It’s a great improvement on Recovery too.

  39. Y’all stay hating…damn.

  40. I’ve been bumping this for a week now, and it’s dope. If Em and Royce dropped this in 2000 or 2001, everyone would be praising it. This EP is on the same shit that Em was on back then, the only thing a little different is his delivery. His screaming isn’t even that annoying here because the beats are solid, unlike Recovery.

  41. @yeah

whenever i hear people complain about em screaming or using a accent, it leads me to think they never listed to a eminem song. The double-time delivery is the only thing he switched up.

  42. Shady summer! Royce is the best artist alive.

  43. LOL i think Eminem mayb the only rapper possibly artist who gets criticized for his voice alone! (fuck the wordplay right?) smh

  47. the EP was wack doesn’t deserve the sales it got

  48. Internet nerds can fuckin hate on ANYTHING i swear.

  49. This EP set the bar for what artist should do in 2011.

  50. Whoever says this ep is whack must be fucking retarted. Royce’s verse on Above the Law is one of the sickest things iv’e ever heard and just about every song is packed with dope lyrics…if call this whack then u need to start looking for a new pair of ears a functional brain

  51. Only Lil B fans can find it in themselves to hate on the EP.
