Rapsody – Black Diamonds f. Raekwon (prod. 9th Wonder)

Now that’s a lineup. Rap, Rae and 9th link up to deliver this Thank H.E.R. Now (dropping June 21st) banger. Nice.

  1. 9th should STOP rapping…its painful
    apart from that dope track

  2. With all these Star Studded features and dope ass beats, Rapsody will def have the hottest and most talked about album of 2011!!!! This one here with Raekwon is DOPE AS SHIT!!!!

  3. wow, on paper it looks dope but it isn’t…

  4. gotta agree.. 9th on the mic is terrible..

  5. Dope shit, but really 9th should stick to producing and put the mic down

  6. Wow, surprisingly my least favorite of the Thank her Now leaks. I wish they would’ve just sampled Hill’s voice. 9th’s falsetto was painful to listen to. And I like his rapping. “it go black diamonds…” Yeah we know how it goes, leave the singing to Lauryn.

  7. Calm down cause 9th only said 6 bars this whole song and what hes saying is from one of the greatest hip hop songs of all time. Anything JAMLA is hip hop in its PURISTS form.

Actual Proof = im betting on the next tape being epic.

  8. JAMLA > DEF JAM

  9. Agree @marty Let’s get Ghostface on the remix. Retweet 9th Wonder’s request and Ghost may jump on it.

  10. Very disappointed on this track. Beat sample is nice but the sample congest the rappers on the track. The mix isn’t very tight. I never hate on a 9th track but this one isn’t great. IMO.

just downloaded this from a couple comments ago…niggas really need to hear that im cool off that track…best concept in a while

  12. Sounds dated. Does “real hip-hop” have to equal an antique 70s-80s vibe? Take me forward in time, not backwards. Just not my cup of tea.

  13. not hot or wack. cool album filler

  14. Leave the critiquing and musical analysis to people who know enough about the topics to talk about em. There is no falsetto and 9th is not rapping. Why you guys choose to make it obvious that you didn’t even hit play is a mystery to me.

Anyways, I love the sample. I also like the simplicity within the complication of this track. Not every track has to have 45 switch-ups and crazy drum rolls in it. Those things can take away from a lyricist’s/producer’s craft. I feel that this track was a team effort, in which everyone’s art complimented the next person’s to come together and make a bigger picture.

Can’t WAIT for Thank H.E.R. Now to drop.

  15. @pHoenix I agree completely.

  16. yeeaaaahh…it’s gonna shot 2 my heart…smooth…

  17. Nice track, take it for what it. If this is album filler then give me an album full of these fillers. Can’t wait to cop the album.

  18. Rapdiddy & Rae….boooiiiiiii. Get em girl!

  19. Exactly what I expected, Rae shines as usual!
