Drake – Marvin’s Room (prod. Noah “40″ Shebib)

Drake’s back to work. Judging by the largely positive response his latest cuts have received, it’s only a matter of time before everybody turns on him when Take Care drops. Speaking of which…

Another piece of the story. Single coming in July. Take Care coming Oct. 24th.

  1. I know people are tired of the relationship/women music and hip hop heads want more rapping, but damn. This plus dreams money can buy is further proof that drake has not only created his own lane but is excelling at it.
I still wanna hear him rapping though, hopefully the album has bars

  2. THIS ISH gOES Hard! Drake keep doin your thing!! SAMe THING GOES FOR MY SINGLE DJ FEAT JANELL!! cHECK IT oUT AT http://WWW.HARDHEADGLOBAL.COM!! PPRECIATE THE FEEDBACK!

    -hIGHLIGHT

  3. i dont think he knows what he has done to the world wit this 1

  4. Yes..

  5. Aye this nigga just made me a fan. Keep doing your thang bruh i gained a whole new respect for the nigga drake #takecare coldest nigga doing it right now…

  6. THIS FOOL KILLING THE GAME RIGHT NOW JUST HOPE HIS ALBUM IS A REFLECTION OF THE LAST COUPLE TRACKS HE BEEN PUTTING OUT!!!!!

    FUCK JASMINE COLE!!!!!!

  7. I’m with Meka, I’m just WAITING for take care to drop and everyone’s gonna go from dickriding to kicking Drake square in the balls at every turn.

Hot track though. I’ve been a Drake fan since SFG.

  8. at this point for me…it’s like forget Drake anything 40 produces i’m all in..HA!

  9. @meka

why you put that pic up? the fuck u aint put the 1 he posted with the track you fuckin monkey

  10. I can feel the “all-this-nigga-does-is-sing” shit coming, lol. What I find a bit funny is that the nigga has been singing since he’s been making music. That’s just the way his art flows. #CANADA Also, I feel the J. Cole v. Drake shit about to begin. Is it fair to say there both dope in their own rights, and keep it moving?

  11. I swear it b the same 6 or 7 niggas throwin salt w/ a thumbs down..shit dope bruh

  12. He’s dropping it on his birthday, Oct 24. Likewise, i hope there’s a fair share of rapping on the album.

  13. drake and 40…enough said

  14. This sounds like every track that he has put out since so far gone “yawn” so this is pretty lame now I’m off bumpin skyzoo’s new shit

  15. Wheres that New Cobe Obeah?

  16. drake is killen all these “new” rap niggas , i love it

  17. Just because you listen to rappers who are more lyrical then Drake doesnt really mean much. What Drake is lacking in lyrics he makes up for in production and hooks ( even though Drake lyrically slaughtered almost everybody from 09 -10 ) Anyway Drake does talk about relationships alot but keep it real thats a big part of life and songs about women are some of the most classic songs. Drake is keeping the musicality in hip hop. DOPE

  18. this shit is real as hell. drake really has talent………but man where j cole’s single at man.

  19. @marty mcfly stfu why you always thank yo opinion count for something.. nigga go get ready for work & i want a #2 hold the mayo…

  20. That drum pattern is so played outttt. Song is real cool tho, disregarding that.

  21. kinda r.kelly ish too…this shit is hard.

If drakes album sounded completely like firework or resistance…it would have been alot better.

  22. this really isn’t a good track. it’s pretty boring. Dreams Money Can Buy was great because of its depth. And it’s not like people just hate on him to hate. Some of the stuff that came out right around the album dropped SUCKED. Over was terrible. Fancy was awesome. Miss me was ok. But 9 A.M. in dallas was amazing. it’s not like niggas just hate for the fun of it. we’re critical and have minds of our own.

  23. J. cole needs to put out music rite now. Drake is killing the game rite now. They both suppose to be the next two Greatest but that starting to not look.

  24. This is straight but its nothing to go crazy over. Drake is kinda good and kinda bad for hip hop.
When he actually raps, he’s pretty solid for the mainstream cuz he’s gonna give you lyrics with out going over peoples heads, making it easy enough for the dumb society to understand. But give you a lil substance to keep it somewhat hip hop.
The bad thing with him is that he overdoes that singing shxt and gets people to thinking that this is what hip hop is now. Some of that is not his fault, but more so the labels and how they promote him. There’s too many dickriders anyway and not enough fans, and most of them seem to flock in Drake’s direction.

  25. “EVERYBODY YELLED SURPRISE,I WASNT SURPRISED”

  26. It’s one thing to not be able to relate to this track. That’s understandable, but to say it lacks depth is blind criticism.

  27. this sounds like The Weeknd, but just not as good

  28. fucking faggots need to stop bringing up that wackass nigga the weeknd.. nigga is fucking trash & need to hope off the dream’s dick.that nigga owe dream a check how much swag he stole from thiat nigga..

  29. Take Care’s gonna be my shit… I can just tell. I’ve been a Drake fan since Comeback Season, and his style has really switched up since then… but he’s gotten better in his craft.

I loved Thank Me Later… so I’m sure Take Care will not fail.

  30. Drake wack…he bought his way to the top. Sorry can’t respect a jewish actor like that. Peace

  31. This is really boring. Cole World, No Insulation!

  32. @ la supreme im not jewish but what u just said was dumb as hell. this song is dope.but still
    Cole World!!!!!!!!!

  33. I waited 3 minutes until he started rapping, and then it was more sing-rap than anything… boring as fuck. this isn’t even singing, or R&B. drake is a lot better than this shit

  34. @TrueHopTunes

You know how long Rappers have been mixing hip hop with R&B and doing songs with R&B artists on the hook? Drake just doing it himself.

    @LAsupreme

Who the fuck is selling property on the top of hip hop?

@Based – sounds like you got a problem with people in the food industry.

  35. good song, not what i was expecting though. was hoping for at least 1 full verse.

  36. not a big fan of r&b type shit but im kind of feeling this, and no doubt about it this guy always picks hot beats i need the instrumental, i’ve been rocking him since room for improvement back i the day

  37. “at this point for me…it’s like forget Drake anything 40 produces i’m all in..HA!

    ultramegaman-ditto

  38. Killin’ it.

  39. yea 40 needs to give that drum pattern a rest. but, with that said, Im a big fan of 40′s beats. I could hear him producing for wiz, j cole, etc, they all would sound dope over his production.

Not feeling this song. not because he’s singing, I don’t mind that, its just kind of boring, not to mention he’s made this song 2 or 3 times before. And I love how a lot of you cats just follow suit. You pretty much echo what the last man said, but hey, thats that “young boy follow the leader” shit ya’ll young niggas go through.

  40. 40 is a dope producer. he needs to be recognized a bit more

  41. Drake is this generation’s Tupac if he keeps making that real hip hop.

  42. so is this rap music or a baby lullaby cuz i fell to sleep
good music for insomnia i guess

  43. Lowkey people are gonna start wanting 40 to produce there tracks so they can get that Drake feeling ic it now. Follow @JV_Swavey

  44. fuck “hip hop” heads. Y’all niggas are the worst. I like how he has different melodies on this song. It was actually good that left for a little while. He was over hyped so bad but he is a good artist. Thank Me Later was a good debut and he is getting better. If the two first songs off take care are any indication of what we can expect on take care, it will be better and he will not have that sophomore slump so many rappers have.

  45. gay. no, wait that was insuting to gay people. shit. no, wait that was an insult to the dump i just took.

  46. marty mcfly…you think Lil Wayne ”noticed” a Canadian rapper just like that? FOH. And you shouldn’t comment anymore Marty cuz you said Rakim was wack on that Rakim post earlier. You should be fuckin ashamed nigga. For real. I can’t take you serious I’m sorry.

  47. Good…hope Take Care can push some boundaries…Give it 2 more yrs…and Thank Me Later is gonna be sounding like a CLASSIC to y’all niggas…and, also…HOW CAN U SAY THAT THIS NIGGA MAKES THE SAME SONG, BUT THEN TURN AROUND AND PRAISE SUMTHIN LIKE RAEKWON???? ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HIS MUSIC SOUND THE SAME

  48. “I’m just saying (drake) you can doo betterrr” **Drake voice**

  49. This a bittersweet song. its for those who have been there. and those who are stll there..
    *downloads*

  50. Yeah Raekwon does talk about that same shit. It’s just the way you talk about it though.

  51. this song would be a hit with a Ja Rule feature

  52. Yeah, the production is kind of dope here, but Drake is bad here. It’s not that Drake isn’t okay and I definitely don’t hate on the singing, but this is really boring. His rapping was off and it just did NOT sound right. I’m not going to hate on anyone’s opinion, but after the 3.55 mark, I just wanted it to be over.

  53. Wait, Marty said Rakim was WACK?! I’m all for opinion, but you just FUCKED THE FUCK UP! And dude, you have a SERIOUS Jay-Z bias.

  54. @Pauly Dee

    Dont believe everything you read.

  55. this song would be a hit with a Ja Rule feature
Irv Gotti said this on June 9th, 2011 at 3:05 pm

    LOL shit had me laughing

  56. I remember Drake talking about this album being about moments. Moments in time. He captured the story so perfectly. The production is dope. 40 might be one of our generations most interesting producers. Take Care will be interesting to hear seeing as we’ve yet to hear him go off on something.

  57. @marty mcfly… if you read everything i said, i CLEARLY said that he just overdoes the singing. yeah, obviously in rap they have been fusing r&b together for awhile. But Drake needs to just do like 50 Cent. Go light on the melodies but make RAP your main focus. He might as well as be another Trey Songz. Shxt, half the time Trey Songz raps more then Drake now!

btw, I really hope you didn’t say that Rakim is wack. That would be discredit anything you ever said about hip hop.

  58. Go to that Rakim :Fav verse post marty commented that shit there I culdnt believe my eyez

  59. @TrueHopTunes

I got you on the Drake thing but his music is very musical so I dont think he wants it to just be RAP as far as just all BARS and little melody. As for the Rakim thing , you should know I have a Troll- base by now. One popped up this morning on the Rakim post and the Pusha T post , no big deal just ignore them. Anybody who really knows me can tell when its me posting but shout out to my trolls and everyone with mcfly in their name cause you guys read my shit the most and probably study it but its cool.

  60. dope.

  61. No diss to the mcflys cause that just lets me know you feel the same way I do about this rap shit. This musics Only Built For Certain Linx…

  62. @ kidnova7:

“i dont think he knows what he has done to the world wit this 1″

    …..DEAD x__x

  63. btw no hate to the salamander up there but i hate when niggas apply unnecessary acronyms to bodies of work like they’re some privy to the inner circle insider been had ass nigga…its called so far gone…i never heard of “sfg”

  64. My god this is a waste of a beat! Drake & his monotone singing & his crap lyrics, smh at people actually saying this is good(HA!). Btw to whoever said Drake is killing these “new” rappers, are you fucking stupid? Kendrick Lamar, CyHi Da Prynce, Big Sean, Gerald Walker, J. Cole, Pac Div, Diggy!!, Shawn Chrys, Hopsin, SwizZz, & many more are better than lame ass Drake, shit, even Tyler The Creator is way better than drake.

  65. When I said rakim sucks i meant his lyrics btw. Ever listen to that shit? no I didn’t think so

  66. ” Btw to whoever said Drake is killing these “new” rappers, are you fucking stupid? Kendrick Lamar, CyHi Da Prynce, Big Sean, Gerald Walker, J. Cole, Pac Div, Diggy!!, Shawn Chrys, Hopsin, SwizZz, & many more are better than lame ass Drake, shit, even Tyler The Creator is way better than drake.”

Not me but I’ll take a stab:
Kendrick Lamar – has HiiPower…fuck afrocentric blackpanther bullshit
    CyHi – Drake >
Big Sean – “Bitch I’m 10ft tall when I stand on top of my dick.” Drake >
Gerald Walker – does what Drake does, but is only above average at it, as opposed to great
    J. Cole – …who dat?
    Pac Div – i mean they’re alright i guess… Drake > tho
    Diggy – lol, moving on…
Shawn Chrys – very good, but not better than Drake
Hopsin – I won’t comment on this one, because I’ve only heard his Am I A Psycho verse, and it was fire, but I’m not gonna call him better than Drake off of one verse.
    SwizZz – who? lol
Tyler – The closest of these to Drake in terms of quality. Hard to compare seeing as how they’re songs are polar opposites of each other.

If you’re gonna try to bring down Drizzy with new guys, you need Yelawolf, Emilio Rojas, Theophilus London, and [especially, since he does Drake's schtick on par or better at times] Gilbere Forte, so you’re a dumbass for leaving them out.

Drake will be here for years making quality music

  67. idk wtfyou on @RSX Big sean nigga what Pac Div Nigga what and you aint even have N.O.D.I.C.E boi you trippin hard peep N.O.D.I.C.Emusic too if you dont know nigga http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jq1K_QJi6TY

  68. that song was boring as fuck… sounds like all the rest of his shit. like drake but not this track.

  69. okay maybe theres a reason for “more many ” dumbshit. Why put people that can’t even compare to drake cuz they are TOO above him, btw Cyhi lyrically is better than drake, Kendrick is all around better than drake, Drake stole Big Sean’s rapping style, enough said, J.Cole is way over Drake, Gerald walker actually has lyrics & isn’t monotone like Drake, Pac Div are way over drake!, Diggy has lyrics but seeing as you’re a fan in denial, you can say he’s over drake, Shawn is over drake in talent!, Hopsin lyrically murder drake!, SwizZz, Hopsin’s partner in crime, will rap circles around Drake(of course you wouldn’t know SwizZz or Hopsin, mainstream faggot), I don’t’ care for Tyler really, but Earl kills Drake. Yela is way beyond drake! same with Emilio & Theo, & Forte’(i’m a huge fan of his) is too good to be even compared to someone like drake, He can actually sing, has lyrical talent, had 2 two of the best Mixtapes, & he produces his own beats for 87 Dreams. now why would i want to compare someone who is beyond drake’s “talent”? dumb fuck.

Drake will be here for while making shit music.

  70. I guess since all those people are better then Drake then they should be able prove it sometime in the near future.

  71. no because all people want to hear is bullshit, why do you think wayne, kasha, & soulja are famous? exactly

  72. Well at least we can agree that Forte’ is the shit *kanyeshrug*

  73. Thats sounds like an excuse because a dope artists cant blame the fans or the industry. People say people are better then Drake which I cant really agree or disagree with but the reality is that if someone is better they would just pass Drake. When Drake came out that didnt stop Ross from staying one step ahead.

  74. and like always… Alot of this and that… but… I actually liked this track…

Say what you will say that will bring you satisfaction. Drake will make his money… That is all.

  75. Yall need to listen to some gucci or waka then come back to me

  76. lmao to the dood with the name RSX, fuck that frog lookin car.
& do your research you obviously only listen to the singles of those artist you sound like a drake dick rider.

    Music is in good hands:
    Drake
    J. Cole
    Kendrick Lamar
    Blu
    Childish Gambino
    Curren$y
    Wale
    Kid Cudi
    Big K.R.I.T.
    Big Sean
    B.o.B.
    Fashawn
    H.O.P.E.
    Frank Ocean
    Stalley
    Bei Maejor
    Jhene Aiko
    Miguel Jontel
    Pac Div
    Sha Stimuli
    Theophilus London
    XV
    Yonas

  77. ^^^ ON that note im done. Yall be easy out there.

  78. ^^^^
    Okay…WHAT?

  79. @NSX for you to leave out “The Weeknd” on that list is beyond me.

Also, as dope as this is, and knowing that Drake and The Weeknd have been in the studio together, I can only imagine what Doc McKinney and The Weekend to this track. With that being said, its dopee !

  80. SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT THESE RAPPERS NOT EVERYBODY KNOWS FUCKING LAMES.

I listen to NRK the pyramids, The Jealous Guys, Ethereal, SpaceghostPurrp, etc.. ppl NONE OF YOU FAGGOTS KNOW til this comment.

does that make me any better??????????????? NO……….

btw this song is dope. On that SFG feel type shit. Kudos to Drake.

  81. does marty mcfly live on this site? everytime i come here he’s commenting. like every-time. 24/7. just saying…its kinda odd

  82. Whooh the bickering on this nearly put me to sleep.

  83. First listened to this and wasn’t convinced

But gave it a chance and damn….

Drake seriously does have his own lane, love him or hate him you gotta respect that

    this tune is DOPE

    oh and 40′s production >>>>>

  84. anyone else hear pop champagne?

  85. “@marty mcfly stfu why you always thank yo opinion count for something.. nigga go get ready for work & i want a #2 hold the mayo…”

    ….DEAD X__X

  86. Song is dope. Take Care sounding more like So Far Gone already.

  87. yall going bananas like this his best. NOT. I mean this got a cool feel to it but Dreams money can buy and all the SFG tracks were way better. He did this style before so its not really like omg, this the shit. I am a Drake fan and always been. But I am honest. This song nice but not speical

  88. @marty mcfly the mass of rap/hip-hop fans focus more on a hot beat and a catchy hook rather than true lyrics.

  89. @Bawse! But thats just human nature and that has always been the case. Theres alot of rappers I like but you think I wanna listen to their albums if the music doesnt move me? Hell no. If you really want to be honest I hate the fact that some MCs think its wack if people dance to their music. As a fan I dont just wanna hear dope bars , I want to grove too.

  90. ^Nah, the industry is making people loose sight of what hip hop is and all about. Of course you need some sort of melodic element in a song. Hip Hop wouldn’t of became such a mainstay genre if it didn’t.
I know a TON of rappers old school and new who can move people with their words, and the beat is just their to hold it up. It’s all backwards now.

  91. This jam is album worthy..he should’ve saved it

  92. no way we’re getting all of this rnb stuff for take care… thought he said he was rapping on that and then doing the rnb mixtape????/

i’m a fan of this song though. he does have a certain way about sharing a story

  93. This is WACK. You dickriding stans are a joke nothing about this song is special at all. Dreams money can buy was a nice song. This song right here! Sucks!

  94. man shit is so good that i fuck to that song with my girl

  95. 157 gays don’t like this . -____- Kill yourselves

  96. I didn’t know they were starting to post Odd Future stuff on here now. This new Frank Ocean is dope.

  97. Again I will say it again ANYONE THAT PHONTE CO-SIGNS is worth a listen. Thank Me Later is one of my favorite records. He is bringing true artistry back.

  98. the song’s good…but I’m missing old school, indie, drake…the beat just sounds too familiar…like light up, karaoke, paris morton music, and houstalantavegas.

  99. @DJ Daz-One… EXACTLY! that’s why we all listen to Lil’ B! That’s the only reason why me and ALL the kids at my school listen to Basedgod, cuz Phonte co-signed him. You know, just like how everybody only started listening to Drake cuz Lil Wayne co-signed him and then signed him to Young Money…. Thank You Based Phonte. Props to you brotha, for recognizing such a #rare talent.

  100. There’s a difference between criticism and ignorant hate, if you say this song has no depth or meaning your an idiot, the beat is dope, the lyrics are, the singing is just a part of Drake. That’s what he does, if you don’t like it oh well. Niggas like Andre 3000 sing a lot, and you don’t hate on them for it. I do agree with Meka, while his music is still getting great reviews right now, I have a feeling that a few weeks after his single drops and blows up, and he gets some hype again, they’ll all turn around and call him overrated. Fuck you band-wagoner fana!

  101. this dude is MAKING SONGS… with depth & meaning, the shit most of u can’t handle. god forbid u spend 5 minutes thinking about something other than “racks on racks…”. fuck outta here wit dat shit. don’t hate cuz he’s taking hip-hop in a different direction. it needs to be done. 99.9% of the shit that’s “hot” right now is just that, shit. Cookie-cutter, mindless, meaningless shit.

y’all need praise this young man for making some mature music

  102. YM >

  103. @bitter_beer_face agreed.

  104. this song is boring, something I’ll listen to when I wanna fall asleep on a 8 hour flight lullaby type ish. I’m on one is drakes best lane.

@marty mcfly, what music do you listen to? jw
