This guy’s collection is unfair at this point. Props to the homie G-Roc.

I hope this guy doesn’t get robbed
You know what I wish us a black men celebrated, a brother with a crazy BOOK collection. You know, some shit that could actually teach you something.
Fuck out of here with this vanity driven, materialistic shit.
Buy a couple hundred dollars worth of books, and actually read them, that’s impressive.
@ Mr. G books would be more impressive….but this shit is still pretty impressive
No denying that, I enjoy shoes as much as the next man, but, can we get a little balance in society?
Can we celebrate intelligence as much as we celebrate appearance?
dude has a pair for every day of the year… for like the next five years
nike needs to be making EE width’s like NB. Can’t wear a SB of AF1 for more than 10 minutes.
When you have that many sneakers, it’s not about vanity or being superficial and materialistic, it’s a passion and a love. Greg street is a well known name in the sneaker community and culture.
Um let’s celebrate the fact that he worked hard at his craft to be able to afford all these shoes while at the same time still making a positive name for himself as famous DJ. It would be a different story if he spent all his money on shoes while at the same time living in the hood, killing people cause they try to rob him everyday.
One question, Do you really think he’s some uneducated black man? uneducated men don’t buy shoes at this capacity and able to sustain a pretty decent house as you can see from the video. Yeah there’s no organization, but it doesn’t look like he’s hoarding out all the space in his house for the sake of an obsession.
If you own more shoes, than you do books, that’s very, very uneducated.
Why, would you need to own that many shoes?
Like homie said up top, he has enough shoes for every day of the year etc.
You’ve got people in this country, let alone, this world, who go without.
Why not donate a majority of them to a charity that provides footware for the homeless?
What need, does one man have for that many shoes?
GREED does not only apply to food.
I’ve got no disdain or “hate” for Greg Street, and his shoe collection, however, I do have disdain for a culture (HIP HOP) that continues to celebrate materialism as if it’s the IT thing to do.
A culture that celebrates young men spending there lasts to cop HYPERstrikes, and deadstock Nikes.
Exspensive ass boutique brand clothes like BBC and the likes.
For what? Exclusivity?
Ask yourself this:
If a man owns THAT many shoes, but his book collection, or even the amount of books his read in his lifetime pales in comparison ; would you rather be him, the man with all the shoes.
Or the man whose mind is richer in knowledge than his pocket is in wealth.
Food for thought my brothers.
This type of display is no different than the videos that have been posted of men showcasing there “Polo Ralph Lauren” collection.
Grab a dictionary, and read the definition of “Vanity/Vain”, and then, the definition of “Greed”.
yo get up off that ghandi shit Mr. G..
i get u and understand where u are cumin from as i myself am not a sneaker head, but yo this guy aint crazy rich or nething.. i culd understand if he was rich n had all these sneakers then shit he SHOULD give them to charity, but its clearly this guys passion, he spent hard earned money on every single pair.
Im jus sayin, u want a dose of ur own medicine? wut if instead of shoes, they were books. Wud it still be okay if he had thousands of books that hes read and are jus sittin around his house now? Cause lord knows theres hundreds of schools and libraries in ghettos and all over the world that culd use more books..
Im jus sayin, sounds like ur talkin down about a man to fill ur own agenda wen its clearly the same circumstances..
If ur truly passionate about sumthin, then it really doesnt matter, im passionate about hip hop and the art sampling as well as my vinyl collection. but according to u, i shuld donate all my thousands of records ive spent hard earned money and time digging to find? GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE N HOP OFF THE HIGH HORSE, theres WAY BIGGER problems in the world then a dj with a huge shoe collection.
Dats some real shit Mr. G. I also feel like you can have a balance, have a dope kicks game along with a dope book game. Not no bullshit books either, some REAL knowledge.
@High horse
Stop trying to justify this shit.
Also, thats whats up Mr. G. I understand wanting shoes, but wanting them more than the wealth of knowledge? That’s just barbaric.
Haha im deffinitly not tryna justify it, i think his sneaker game is waaaay too ridiculous, and if u didnt read i actually agree with him that its too much. SHIT I SERIOUSLY ONLY OWN TWO PAIR! Im jus sayin, seriously, IF they were books, whats the difference? Either way the guy would still have an extravagence of them JUST SITTING AROUND! When they could be going to better use.
Dont get me wrong i completely understand where u r comin from when u say theres too much materialism in hip-hop, but this guy isnt showin off his huge crib, or all the cars he own in his garage. CAUSE HE DONT GOT THAT. Its not sumthin i will ever understand, but sneakerheads are very passionate about there shoes, its not jus about materialism.
Besides, hes a fuckin dj, when was he required to have any knowledge about anything besides music?
I’m def robbing dude
and on another fuckin note, u guys should be more concerned about the 5-10yr old child laborers in China who r getting less than 50cents a day to manufacture these shoes in incredibly unsafe working conditions rather than worrying about a “DJ’s” shoe collection..
Like i said, bigger problems in the world. N if ur so full of knowledge, u shuld be able to go do sumthin about it.. n if not, then wtf did u read all those book for?
If they were books, you impudent and ignorant child, he would be able to spread his knowledge that he learned with the world and help develop the first steps of making it a better place.
Nigga, you sound like you need to read a book or two. Hell, I’ll even start you off with my neice’s Cat in the Hat book.
Spread his knowledge? Making the world a better place? He’s a DJ in Atlanta, not someone who is internationally known. You are really sitting on your computer, on 2dopeboyz, and talking about Greg Street should read a book.
The pot is calling the kettle black right now.
Haha here goes the personal attacks, seriously man, in all honesty ive probably read more books than u. BOTTOM LINE: dude is a fuckin DJ not a poet or even a rapper where his words would be heard, relax man, WAY BIGGER PROBLEMS IN THE WORLD. To name one, THE ECONOMY. And sorry to admit this, but making the world a better place? Seriously? Get the fuck up and out and do something for ur community/world. U dont have to have a lot of knowledge to care or to DO SOMETHING.
I Love Books, WAY more than sneakers, i jus think u guys r going a little bit too far with the moral bashing. THE FUCK HAVE U DONE LATELY TO BE ABLE TO SIT HERE N JUDGE THIS MAN? Like my favorite book of them all said, “If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone”
now thats, DROPPIN KNAWLEDGE
…you just sound corny and idiotic as hell. How do you know I’m not at soup kitchens? How do you know that I’m not helping victims from the recent Tornado or New Orleans disasters? Until you even know my personal life and even learn to spell right, YOU CANNOT COME AT ME!
since when do you HAVE to own books to be smart?
obviously the dude has his money right to be doing what he WANTS to do.
what’re you doing? bullshittin’, hating on a blog site.
corny and idiotic as hell? or can u still not come up with a decent arguement so u keep throwin out personal attacks? lol i was deffinitly not comin at u tho, im not an internet thug. where in there did i say one thing about u that can be decribed as “comin at you”? i see that i said i PROBABLY read more books than u, which is about myself. Then i asked the fuck have u done lately? cause i dont kno if u do those things, thats why its a question..
i jus dont think its right for people to act like they r all high n mighty and act like they have done nothing morally wrong in their life, when thats clearly not the case..
n my spelling? seriously bro its like fuckin 4 in the morning, get the fuck outta here lol.
This man just buys kicks because of the brand. His style is kind of played out. I used to be like that. Now I buy them causue they actually look good. Example the AirYeezy’s that he has actually look good. Air’s and Jordan’s don’t look nearly as good.
BOOKS… REALLY? Yall reading book to try figure out something this dude has already figured out. How to be successful. Yall righteous folk kill me.
i like books
i like trainers
u dont need to buy books now thanks to the internet..u can download them. how do u know he aint got a kindle with 2000 books on it? either way he might get a load of books of cookery…then wat? lol. a book doesnt necessarily equal useful knowledge..
Books? We talking about books? How in the fuck do you know that he doesn’t have any books or better yet how do you know that he doesn’t read books at all? Just because he’s showing you his mass collection of shoes that are big enough to fill a museum we’re just going to automatically assume he doesn’t read? SMH. How do you know that he doesn’t volunteer at charities in Atlanta or any other part of the world or that he doesn’t lend support for relief efforts when other people need help? You don’t know anything but the fact that some guy who runs a website called “the shoe game dot com” asked Greg Street to show off his shoe collection to have some new material for his website. Then all of sudden Greg Street is a ignorant Black Man. Answer me this when have you seen Greg Street on tv talking about his shoe collection? When have you seen him in a national interview talking about all the shoes he has? Never except for this interview for a blog site that’s not going to get anymore attention than the people calling him uneducated because he has a hobby.
I like how people feel that everyone’s hobby should be collecting books or spending your whole life reading books. Don’t get me wrong I read to educate myself about the world of business, history of our economy and I also read in order for me to stay in the know about current trends for my job professionally. But dictating what people do as a hobby is like throwing stones when you live in a glass house.
Greg Street is definitely a sneaker head. I sure hope dude doesn’t get robbed or anything like that. No house fires…that’s years of collecting…he’d never get all them shits (sneakers) back. Street needs a big fire proof warehouse sun!
Someone above mentioned books and taking pride in collecting those…I agree with that someone. However, Street isn’t thinking about books at all. He probably has read a manual, let alone a book in years.
i have a kindle. am i stupid? i don’t have any books in my house and graduated with a 4.0 (seriously). am i stupid? AND my shoe game is KINDA nice (lol). am i stupid? people can do whatever they want to do with their money. fuck whoever thinks otherwise. i see you didn’t get at meka or shake for not posting any videos about book and shit. why? because this is a fucking hip hop site, not a fucking book club of the fuckin’ month club. SHOW ME WHAT YOOOOOOOU ARE DOING TO IMPROVE THE CHILDREN OF OUR NATION’S EDUCATION, mr. g. and i don’t want you to post ANY retraction TO WHAT I SAID. SHOW me. if you have a blog or anything, SHOW me. an organization of some sort where you are pictured being shown that it is YOU making a difference, walking the walk instead of wasting time talking to people who obviously don’t give 2 shits what you think about this man’s sneaker collection (which has me speechless, by the way :-), show US. anything that shows that you aren’t just some self-righteous, pompous, wanna-be mr. enlightenment to the uncaring, obviously watched the video but still wants to criticize someone for having what you obviously also have an interest in or else you wouldn’t have even clicked on the comment section ass, asshole. otherwise, shut the fuck up. this is a hip hop site. this is what is, will and continue to be posted here.
dumb ass.
People,
Please do a little research from time to time. Greg Street does more than most! “sweep around your own front door”
http://www.gregstreetonline.com/category/weneed2read/
I quit.
fuck yall care about what another man has? respect his collection (or not) and keep it movin. like he needs anyone’s validation to continue what he does as a dj and as a shoe collector
“http://www.gregstreetonline.com/category/weneed2read/” Oh look here do we have a double whammy for Mr. G. Not only is Greg trying to promote reading in his community but he’s using his money to give out a scholarship. Mr. G never come back to this post again.
Man it’s a lot of posts about how vain this shit is and how knowledge is more important but that has nothing to do wit the fact that his shoe game is fuckin retarded. It’s envy. Everybody has a vice weather it’s cigarettes, sex, books, movies, sneakers, etc. Hop off his dick and focus on the shit YOU can do for the community. I am an Atlanta native and i see FIRST HAND all the shit Greg Street does for the community, from congratulating kids graduating high school to random charity events. Stop hatin on a man because he’s passionate about something that’s expensive to maintain because if you only knew how much he really does, you’d shut the fuck up.
@ MRG- I respect what you wrote and i believe that you have a point. BUT, first off, this site is a hip hop site. I am not trying to be a dick about this but neither you nor the other thousands of people who visit this site on a daily basis are looking for videos posted of someones book collection. That’s just fact. And this next thing i am going to say is again, not to be a ass, i am serious. But if you feel that passionate about people displaying other things that aren’t so materialistic, then why not post a video yourself?? I mean, i only assume that a person who brings forth a issue as you did would at least themselves have a collection of literature that would impress even those that don’t understand its true value. So my belief is, live by what you speak and do it yourself. Show the world what a educated black male owns besides the impersonal. I myself, love reading, but i love this video as well. It is one aspect of one person’s life being put on display. But i think that truthfully, if you want to say something, i think you should do it yourself, make a video and post it. You can post the link on here, or just create a Youtube account, If getting your view out is important. That’s all i am saying. No bullshit, no malice, just my opinion. Take care.
lol @ haters. some of these shoes are 2dope-
Greg Street’s collection is REdiculous!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kergZaqgyDo&feature=related
I thought this was about shoes, not some biblical explanation of why he cannot like shoes.
he likes shoes
he earned them
get over it
