It would be alot easier if people judged songs by whether its good or not cause when you over complicate things by comparing them to other songs and trying to give the lyrics deeper meanings then they actually have , your gonna make it harder to say the song is dope. If I compared every new song to other song then nothing would be considered dope because theres thousands of albums and songs to compare to a new artists songs. Does the song sound good or not? Simple as that.
I just don’t get why every fan has to be a stan, and every person who doesn’t like it have to be a hater. People who like the song will stick by that and those who don’t will stick by that.

@AC, Lamar doesn’t JUST name drop MALCOM X & MLK. I do agree that there’s more to being deep than name dropping influential societal figures but you wrongly critique Lamar as ONLY doing this in some attempt to be deep. Kanyes 2nd single on his first album was All Falls Down , video and everything. I could list alot of other songs where Kanye put conscious lyrics in his music but I dont wanna compare Kendrick to Kanye because Kendrick got his own story. There is always gonna be another artist that did something a new artist is doing and did it better but that doesnt mean that a new artist isnt good nor does it mean that their the 2nd coming of somebody else. Kendrick is the first Kendrick and that should be cool enough for the fans.
