Rockstar Games – them of Grand Theft Auto fame – is dropping a new video game, L.A. Noire, May 17th. From the commercials I’ve seen, it looks like something straight out of Chinatown Jack Nicholson’s 1974 film. Well, Verve Records and Rockstar commissioned some familiar names to remix vintage jazz tunes from the 1930s and 1940s for a digital “soundtrack” of sorts, including Dave Sitek of TV On The Radio, Truth & Soul (Amy Winehouse, Aloe Blacc, Adele) and this guy named DJ Premier. I think you may have heard of him. Check out Primo’s take on jazz great Louis Jordan‘s 1946 classic.
