Illmatic, April 19th, 1994

Seventeen years ago, Nas’ debut album Illmatic was released. While trying to find a proper video for my favorite song on that album, “Represent,” I instead stumbled across the EPK for the classic album. The volume is rather low, and it looks like it was ripped straight from the VCR, but I figured this is worth the watch.

  3. Memories……Video Music Box, Uncle Ralph narrating. I was 16 when ‘Matic dropped. Whylin’ in the street, my walkman stayed killin batteries. That was a hot summer in NY too, Lotta bloodshed, lotta gang wars, lotta sex, money & drugs!!

  12. I remember stealing my cousins tape of Illmatic when I visited my family in NC. He never got that joint back. Definitely one of my favorite albums ever.
