Green Street – Don’t Look Down (Mixtape)

Up until earlier today I had been completely unaware of this Brooklyn-based jazz/hip hop collective (consisting of emcees A-Live and Soupa, and producer Renaissance). But after a recommendation from Fresh Daily (who is a guest feature), I decided to give it a listen. I’m glad I did too, this shit is pretty smooth.

  1. Cool cover, got any stand out tracks that I could check out before I download it?

  2. Yea… always give us a track to check out.

  3. The joint is banging off the top so start from the top. The first tract goes hard. But if you are the type of person who need to eased into a new experience try any of the tracts with features, perhaps “To the Sky.” That beat is ill heck and very unique.

  4. Green Street FTW.

I got all of the music on my library from Ren when I was 18, dude was foundational to my hip-hop development and carries the sound with some trill-ass beats. These dudes are ill cats, been bubbling slowly for a minute, it’s nice to see them get some shine. I’d start with What’s Cookin or Ladders.

  5. this is dope…definitely worth the download

  6. YES! finally! i was waiting for the day Green Street would get posted on 2DBZ ……. don’t sleep on these guys. If you haven’t listened yet…..please listen to their album!

    CRAZY HOT

  20. Green Street always keeps it fresh, but these cats have really stepped it up on this latest project. The production by Ren and Ken Ross (dont sleep on that kid either) has been taken to another level, and the whole tape is definitely smooth.

  23. this shit is hot mustard. good look

  24. the notion that this is a “mixtape” puts some other projects in the game to shame. i heard about this tape through their ghost producer ken ross, who is the fuckin truth. stepping out, time wont change us, moving on, no sleep are the highlights of the tape.
