Freddie Gibbs Signs to CTE (Video)

That’s right folks. During a show in Chicago, Gangsta Gibbs and Young Jeezy took the stage to announce that he’s officially aligned himself with CTE. Thoughts?

Shouts to FSD on the footage.

  1. So…does this mean he has beef with Pill now? because Freddie clearly doesnt like Rick Ross & neither does Jeezy..and Pill just got down with Ross…so…idk I hope they dont, because they made good music togetherwhen they first came out…but idk..congrats Freddie! just dont become a rapper signed to a rapper!!

  2. good for jeezy, bad for gibbs

  3. I’m a huge fan of Jeezy but fam can’t even get his self back hot so what can he really do for Gibbs?

  4. Who gives a fuck?

  5. It was the Big Krit show R4 tour. Shit was crakkin!

  6. LMAO I Agree w/ @HDotBaines

  7. http://musicwelisten2.blogspot.com/

  8. well, the word is young jeezy is bulding something serious and gibbs is basically the first artist sign. gibbs buzz is really taking off so that’s a very good move for both of them. gibbs will get a major machine behind him + cte crew that understands his movement.

  9. doesn’t make much sense for Gibbs when at the moment he has more buzz than Jeezy, basically got his own machine going and CTE as a label makes no noise in music. Don’t see how this gives him a better situation.

  10. makes for a good combo……. beat thing Jeezy done in a while, I just hope it pays off right for Gibbs

  11. I hope Jeezy give him that push he needed. But big up to Gibbs for getting another shot at the majors.Cannot wait to see Krit and Gibbs in bmore on April 28th

  12. Mahn.. Gibbs is dope But Jeezy aint rly on no moe.. CTE?? MAhnnn them niggas Suk.!! But Jeezy bettah push em

  13. ….I just wanna know what the fuck is upp with the dude in that youtube screenshot….something is seriously wrong with that image js

  14. Man i swear i can’t stand these copycats everytime has show some kind of success or buzz with something people want to jump on the bandwagon. The music industry just can’t get out of its own way, He should of been patient and waited for a better deal. Its better to stay independent regardless

  15. yall mugs are stupid talking about Gibbs has more buzz than Jeezy. Some of you are really so out of touch with reality. You saw how the crowd got extra crunk once Jeezy stepped on stage??? He got 3 platinum albums what he need a buzz for?

And lol @ this nigga talking about wait on a better deal. Fuck all that. J. Cole, Wale, Pill, Yelawolf and the rest of these guys can get signed but Gibbs should stay independent?? That’s the bullshit and Jeezy is one of the biggest artists in the game regardless.

All he gotta do is say “The album is coming out in the summer” and it will promote itself.

  16. Well that Pill and Gibbs tape is NEVER happening now lol…

  17. The rapper Rick Ross would have his fans believe that he made millions trafficking cocaine while running with one of Miami’s violent street gangs.

Ross’s purported hoodlum connections were explored last April during a deposition of Officer Rey Hernandez

“Do you have anything that shows you he was affiliated with any gang?” Hernandez replied, “No, I do not.” Zamren also got Hernandez to acknowledge that, prior to the January 2008 bust, Ross had never been arrested in Miami-Dade County, where he has long resided.

  18. great move for both parties. gibbs has a buzz but its still kinda small to be honest. jeezy needs new GOOD blood in his crew and im definitely 100% sure this isnt the last cte signee. idky but i have a feeling that big krit may be next to sign with jeezy

  19. @yodaddy I was with you on your first point. Cuz I was there front row and when that nigga Jeezy came out everybody went nuts. But I don’t know if he got that kinda pull. He can’t even get his own shit out… Where is TM103???

Click the link for video of it and the rest of the Big K.R.I.T concert.

  20. freddie gibbs GI STAND UP A

  21. freddie seems like a smart guy and wouldnt just sign to anybody and sit cuz he already went through that with interscope, so they must have something big planned. who knows maybe gibbs is what jeezy needed to get relevant again.

  22. Woah why doesn’t Gibbs like Ross? Didn’t even know about that.

Also bad move imo, but at least he won’t make some pop bullshit single.

  23. i love what people said here. Now I am seeking a good man who can give me real love ,

Maybe you wanna check it out or tell your friends.

  24. 50 CENT FT. FREDDIE GIBBS & JEEZY – RICK ROSS DISS
    damn that would be sick

  25. Young Jeezy? This is the same guy who’s Thug Motivation 103 has been pushed back more than The Red Album? Not a good look for Gibbs.

  26. @SmokinAces

damn that reminds me that game actually runs a label. being signed to blackwallstreet = biggest failure of all time

  27. Woah why doesn’t Gibbs like Ross? Didn’t even know about that.
Also bad move imo, but at least he won’t make some pop bullshit single.

“I threw my tape out on the streets and watched my tape lift off without a verse from weezy, kanye, or the fake rick ross”
    Crushin Feelins

  28. personally i think he would of been off signin to killer mikes grind time and align himself wit pill and killer mike seein as how they all make similar music and already have a chemistry workin together

  29. I guess jeezy is trying to make a brand of his own.
    Possible artists to sign next:
    jay rock
    big krit
    fashawn
    chip tha ripper
    nipsey

I have a feeling this is gunna go down just like maybach music did.
I like that rappers are doing this, it gives artists creative control and major label status, just look at drake. So hopefully a dope roster is put together here

  30. Gangsta Gibbs looked like a Gangsta Groupie in this

  31. Jeezy & his crew are wack as fuck. Who cares Jeezy has gone platinum…so has Hammer & Flo Rida. The only way this is good for Gibbs is if he’s getting paid. I’m gonna has to edit out the CTE bums on Gibbs new tracks or just keep listening to his old joints.

  32. Isnt K.R.I.T. already signed? That nigga is on Def Jam…

  33. This was the worst move ever. Jeezy has been on the decline for the past year or so. Freddie Gibbs was dope by himself. I hope this doesn’t fuck up his career…

  34. an Jay Rock is on Strange Music, Tech N9ne’s shit

  35. I swear to god, Gibbs looks like Pac in the freeze frame shot lol.

@Dhidiejsksocu Jay Rock’s already signed to Strange Music, Big K.R.I.T.’s already signed to Def Jam and Fashawn is too concious to really be in “gangsta” group like CTE, tho Nipsey could work and if the label’s give the OK K.R.I.T. & Jay Rock could fit in there too, I’m not too sure about Chip tho.

  36. Jeezy career is over?, Gucci Mane & Rick Ross have more music then Jeezy on south radio right now bad move

  37. Young Jeezy career is for from over cause he just been on tour with Jay z for the last 2 years. Plus with Jeezy it aint about just music , Jeezy got the streets behind him cause almost every hood in america will support him. This is a good look for Freddie cause Jeezy was a business man way before he blew up and if you dont know the history of his crew BMF then you should get familiar cause chances are they used to buy out the bar in your city.

  38. Good Look Gibbs. No matter what happens as a result right now folks is talkin. Truthfully it aint up to Jeezy to decide how his Career go right now its still up to Gibbs. Most here would be quick to admonish the major label Debut of Gibbs anyway so if he jus keep releasin dope material (including how he’s been stretchin out these videos) and havin maintaining his quality brand he good. He could be dropped and still bounce back and since he’s already experienced that I see this as nothin but good for Gangsta Gibbs. Hey Maybe even TM103 will finally drop and have a Gibbs feature. Two Thumbs up.

  39. Shout out to Bleu DaVinci…

  40. Show was nuts!

  41. You know…I don’t think CTE was a good decision, but what I do like is that rappers are joining each other rather than signing with the major record companies.
We can finally see music from the artists perspective rather than through the lens of the A&R.

  42. Gibbs is cool, i’ve seen him live a couple of times and met him…i don’t care for Jeezy at all, but Jeezy does get some decent production so maybe Gibbs can benefit from that…and it’s a major deal so his promo should be better…

  43. Glad Gibbs is signed, but not crazy about the label choice. Dude knows his business though, so I’ll see how this pans out.

  44. Eh. Huge fan of Gibbs but. Seeing that TM103 has been pushed back WAY TOO MANY times, we’ll just have to see how this goes. Glad he’s signed though. Gibbs is the shit man

  45. honestly, Jeezy should just scrap anything to do with “Thug Motivation” and find something new to touch on(Like how Jay gave the Blueprint a break for a while). Cuz I can listen to The Recession front to back any day.

Don’t think this will really affect the music Gangsta Gibbs makes tho, just open the door for some collabos and exposure. Good things

  46. am i the only one like wtf? i mean dude is collabing with cool kids, currensy, reks, statik selektah, and signs with JEEZY?? WTF bad move

  47. Happy for FG. Don’t like the label nor its artists. Best wishes.

  48. well atleast now we know whos the best lyrically on the label!!
