Nothing is really too new in music everything is an extension of an older elements just done in a new way. They use Neptunes/West Coast Style Synths and usually Boom Bap style drums of course already done before but like always fads have a way of repeating themselves.

On to B.o.B. Probably the most musically talented rapper in the game right now. I don’t even know if it’s arguable. Plays guitar, piano, drums, produces, sings, raps, songwrites. As has been said over and over, by some of the more intelligent people on here, he hardly sold out. If you look at his progression of music, he was already really close to that style on his album on his mixtape B.o.B vs Bobby Ray. He had guitar all over it, singing all over it, and he produced most of those types of songs. I’ve heard B.o.B do it all pretty much. I’ve heard him go ham on a track, I’ve heard him do tracks for the ladies, I’ve heard him do anthems for the guys, I’ve heard him do street anthems, radio smashes, club bangers, chill stuff for smokers, political rap, conspiracy rap, rap about aliens, whatever. He’s one of the most versatile rappers out there. Hating on him for the few pop records he did is like hating on the tip of the iceberg, when the majority of it is submerged under the water.
Good luck to Odd Future’s career, but making the shot against B.o.B in the first place was kind of pointless. B.o.B put nothing but hard work to get where he is. I don’t see why there should be hate against him. He’s actually got the talent to deserve the spotlight.
