With ReturnOf4Eva being pushed back to this Monday, K.R.I.T. talks to MTV about how he got into producing his own music.
I couldn’t afford beats. I was 13 and I couldn’t afford to go to the studio and I couldn’t afford to pay for beats. So “MTV Music Generator” came out for PlayStation and that was it. I was like, ‘I done made it.’ I recorded to a karaoke machine, looping the ‘MTV Music Generator’ beat and that was the start. I was like, ‘I could make my own beats and rap? I can mass produce music on my own, I’m good.’ And that’s where it began.

HaHa I remember one of my boys got that MTV Generator when we were in middle school & did the same thing. Krit is a very humble dude
that game was my shit! me and my homeboy would see who could match a beat some a single that was out the best. then e started doing are own beats. it really did put alot of people in the game rather you know it or not. not to mention with some know how…it was a pretty great tool plus you could sample. hook the audio plugs to your input of choice and you was good.
