  4. How many of you guys actually really pay attention to mixtapes and sit through them and thoroughly listen to them?
    To me, 95% of the time, mixtapes are half-assed unmastered uninspired products, and I never really sit through a whole mixtape.
    I need someone to tell me they feel the same way

  24. lordmort: i don’t even see the point in mixtapes existing at all, don’t get why artists put them out at all, yeah maybe for some promotion for an upcoming album and maybe to show dedication to fans but most the time the stuff on there is weak, if i was an artist i wouldnt do mixtapes, there’s 3 things to put on mixtapes, weak material not as good as the album but then it gives bad expectatiopns of the album and people will just d/l and not buy, or you could put good material on there but then it’s just wasted and wont be remembered by many, then there’s just leftover tracks which didnt make the album or didnt get samples cleared which i guess would be the only reasonable way of putting out a mixtape
