Snoop Dogg – Platinum f. R. Kelly (prod. Lex Luger)

Snoop Dogg’s turn over a Lexus Luger beat. Above and down bottom is the artwork and tracklisting for Snoop’s #PuffPuffPassTuesdays mixtape, which is essentially a compilation of all the tracks Calvin has dropped during his own weekly series plus a few more, all mixed, scratched, itched, chopped, screwed and slurred by DJ Skee. The project drops this Thursday (February 17).

  1. These beats all sound the god damn same!!!!
    Lex is ruining hip hop.

  2. does anyone actually like lex luger beats? ive yet to meet someone who does

  3. i dnt understand why people hate on lugers beats…they all go hard, and i dnt really see how people think they sound the same either…ur gonna tell me H.A.M. sounds like Hard in the Paint??? How??!!

  4. yeah cosign that dood. i for one feel that waka’s flockaveli album is an amazing showcase of beats from an incredibly young producer

  5. snoop was snappin

  6. R Kelly can eat a dick. I aint even gonna listen to this. Yeah yeah, i might be being ignorant but I’m still boycotting.

  7. This don’t even sound like a Lex Luger beat so the 1t two people who posted can eat a dick, especially 1st post .

  8. Not ALL of his beats sound the same. but MOST of his beats sound the same. he isn’t the best producer. listen to all the Rick Ross beats he does they ALL sound the same.

  9. BUT this beat isn’t that bad. good job Lex.

  10. Never again will I pause a J. Cole song to hear one of Luger’s weak ass beats. smh

  11. kid is gettin paid, jay kanye snoop game n never ending list LEX IS IN DEMAND PLATINUM, platinum platinum platinum, repeat daat lex n get paid. who buys music? not u haters. kids n women n thy need something simple. platunum platunum coming 2 charts soon. platimum

  12. WHY ARE YALL GETTING MAD AT LEX LUGER LIKE HE PUT A GUN TO EVERY ARTIST HE SOLD A BEAT TO?

  13. ALL SOUND THE SAME
    http://www.thablogishot.com/2011/02/is-lex-lugers-trademark-sound-ascending.html

  14. this doesnt sound as similar to the rest of his major “hits” cuz the beat isnt bein driven by those damn horns he always uses. BUT, u can still hear some of the exact same elements(including the horns in the hook) in here from others. he uses that sound thats similar to the super mario mushroom power up here(and in all his beats)…i kno im only over anylyzing his shit now cuz i kno wat to listen for, but honestly thats a prob in itself. when i listen to a crazy beat, im feelin tha shit so much i cant even try to dissect it at first. his shit is simplistic and similar…and jus cuz a nigga makes money off of somethin, that dnt mean he’s great at it. it may mean he found a niche to supply, lex is in that box rite now.

  15. and for as much as i bitch about lex bein simple minded, H.A.M. is still my shit. that was one of those crazy beats that i didnt care to breakdown til like the 20th time i listened. so dnt gimme that “hater” bullshit either. I jus call’em like i see’em.

  16. Every nigga that disagrees with you is not a hater. The fuck? So if the majority are “haters”, does that make us wrong? Obviously he’s getting money from these mediocre beats but nobody’s talking about his success.

Niggas with no argument always resort to the same shit: “But he’s making money…but he’s popular.” So what? So was Bush.

  17. fuck the haters i fucking love lex luger his beats go hard

  18. Are yall for real? Lex is a kid still…like 20 years old I believe. Doesn’t everyone need time to grow and develop? When Kanye first appeared ALL of his shit sounded the same. Im from Chicago, trust me, before he blew, it was the same track over and over.

  19. Ummm no when kanye first appeared he used the same formula as far as samples, but All falls down didn’t sound anything like Family business, Spaceship didn’t sound anything like Workout Plan.

Lex Lugers beats all sound the same, I want you to rap “H.A.M” to this and tell me you don’t see the VERY CLOSE similarity. Even around the point where the chorus for Kellz comes in the chorus for H.A.M. has the same groove. Rap the chorus with that chorus and tell me you don’t see it and I’ll call you a lie.

  20. First off, I’ll go ahead and say this. Lex is making money, but he’s hardly making music. He won’t win Grammys, he’ll hardly ever get recognition. Repetitive melodies and percussion patterns won’t get you respect by musicians. Who cares if he’s getting paid. He’s losing respect.

He needs time to grow and develop? I’ve been producing for a year and a half, and I’ve done loads of styles of music, and try and make sure no beat sounds the same. Versatility is what makes a good producer great. Either way, UK production is about to take over the US. Listen to some Tinie Tempah (“Wonderman,” “Written in the Stars,” “Pass Out”) and you’ll think Lex Luger’s production sounds like absolute shit. UK production is on the next level. Speaking of, 2Dopeboyz needs to post more UK hip hop. Y’all need to open your ears to new sounds if you think Lex Luger’s production is hot.

  21. @B_Lett UK music is wack as fuck and im from england, doesn’t compare to US music, French hip-hop>>>>>UK hip-hop! check the french beats out, they are dope as fuck

  22. All I’m saying is that electronic/dub step style of production is going to swarm over hip hop this year. You got acts like Chiddy Bang that’ll help move that type of production forward.

  23. The beats Sounds like “Plies – Boy I Got A Plan”.

  24. why are all these comments about the fkn beats? SNOOP DID HIS THANG ON THIS SHIT & PROPS FOR SWITCHIN THE FLOW UP…bout damn time!
