Its been 2 years and 3 albums (including the YM album) since Lil Waynes last decent album. And even that was below what we had come to expect from him. Sorry people, but the old Lil Wayne is gone. Now its just a matter of how many times youre gonna buy his new shit hoping its like his old.

I don’t know about hoping his new shit is like his first few albums like the guy above me is saying. Maybe the first two ‘Carter’ albums and the mixtapes that came out around that same time frame, but the albums before those were pretty terrible. Are people really still into that Baller Blockin, Bling Bling, bitches, money & hoes type of music??? I’ve been so thankful that hip-hop has grown from that phase.
Regardless of the quality of ‘The Carter IV’ it’s still probably going to do huge numbers. 6 Foot 7 Foot is still killing it as a single after 5-6 weeks. If that’s what we can expect for the quality of most of the album I think a lot of us are going to be let down.

If Carter IV doesn’t leak crazy early and the marketing starts pretty much now by getting him all over the lame daytime tv talk shows, and he keeps doing magazine covers like these I don’t see how it won’t come close to doing a million it’s first week. Wayne’s probably the only rapper around right now that has a chance too….maybe Kanye if he doesn’t give most of the album away a few months before it’s actually released.
Even though 3 out of 4 of us would rather have more substance in his tracks lately including myself, there’s a lot more young kids and people that just want shit like Lollipop from him. Probably why 6 Foot 7 Foot is doing so well. Maybe a million the first week is a bit much, but I bet we’ll see big numbers for a few weeks in a row instead of a huge drop off like most artists experience in hip-hop. I’m surprised they haven’t been using the time he just served more to make him look like even more of a bad ass to the folks that don’t really get it.
People keep saying 6’7′ is doing well, Im just curious how? I never hear it on the radio, although to be fair I dont have the radio on all that often. It only stayed on the iTunes charts for less than a week, and then dropped off and didnt return. It hasnt gone gold, and after a month or 2, that would have been a failure for C3 Wayne. And in the end, its just not a particularly intersting song. I honestly think because its “Lil Wayne” people just assume that the masses are buying his shit, but its kinda looking like this run of bad music is catching up to him.
I say 500K in the first week, but you never know. C3 leaked like 2 weeks before its release and dude still sold amillie but that was a different time when Wayne was killing everything whereas today he’s hit and miss. 6’7′ wont be that single to garner any sales, he needs to drop something like Lollipop.
