Kardinal Offishall Speaks On Collaboration With Nottz (Video)

Spotted: YK2

Oh. Hell. Yes.

Kardinal has been one of my favorite artists dating back to the “Ol’ Time Killin’” days. Speaking at Much Music’s relaunched “Rap City,” the T-Dot ambassador reveals that he and Virginia’s own Nottz (alos one of my favorite producers) have teamed up to drop 7, a collaborative project that was recorded in the span of seven days. 7 will be released for free, before Kardinal’s next studio offering Mr. International.

  1. Remember when rappers started jockin Biggie and Jay with the whole not needing to write rhymes down on paper thing? It started with Beanie or Twista I think, which may have even overlapped with the originators. Then wack ass Ja Rule got in on it. Then T.I., which was also corny. Then Wayne etc. Til shit just got to the point where lyrics were getting plain horrible. Fast forward to 2010/11 and rappers are all trying to see who can record their songs/mixtapes/albums the fastest. And every day of the week has been claimed for somebody’s latest throwaway song. Before the end of the year every rapper is gonna have ten mediocre techno-influenced albums under their belt, and will be endorsing their own line of headphones. Nothing against Kardi, cos I think he’s dope, but rappers have no originality anymore.

  2. Kardinal is always on point. C’mon now, this Nottz album is bout to be crazy! Lets go Kardi

  3. will be nice to hear Kardi over some proper production again – looking forward to this
