For the record Pink Friday is at 890,000 while MBDTF is at 915,000 copies sold. Certification is based on the amount of albums shipped to retailers not units sold. The labels pay the IRAA to certify that an artist has shipped over 1 million units. Some labels request certification faster then others so yes Nicki was certified before Kanye but she still has not sold more units then him. Just wanted to clear that up for people.

The album would’ve been platinum by now, if A, Ye hadn’t leaked half the album before hand, and B, he had released All Of The Lights as the 2nd single instead of Runaway. But yeah, it’s just been certified platinum as far a shipping goes, but it hasn’t sold 1 million yet, neither has Nicki though, she hasn’t sold quite as much as him actually. That shit only stopped for a hot minute in like the late 90s during the Timbaland/Swizz Beatz age.
