Also check out XXL’s list of their top 50 Dr. Dre beats of all time. “Heat” better be named in that list, or else I’m deeming it as invalid. What are your favorite Dr. Dre beats?
PREVIOUS: Focus… – Homage To Daz & Soopafly f. Pro-Verb, Ras Kass, Kendrick Lamar & Latoiya Williams

The XXL list is missing a few obvious (older) ones, among them Boyz N The Hood, Gz Up Hoez Down, Alwayz Into Somethin, Real Niggaz Don’t Die. Shit is kinda geared towards younger fans, and choosing from a wider range of artists, I guess. Kendrick’s list was cool, though.
Think Still D.R.E. is his best, personally.

Jesus christ they’re over doin it on this Dre x Kendrick lemar shit.
For FUCKS SAKE we get you too are workint together dont have to add all this unncecessary hype. Dre’s beats ain’t even that amazing anymore. Alteast to me it seems like he’s lost the grimey aspect of hip hop. Musically they’e good but they seem so fake. they’re no emotion and grime

His work in late 80s/early 90s set a standard for hip hop production. He created a lane that MANY still follow.

How did he leave off Still D.R.E? That was his best beat IMO.
mazoomy said this on December 15th, 2010 at 1:48 pm
I don’t know if this Kendrick Lamar is a bona fide expert on Dr. Dre’s music, which I definitely wouldn’t claim to be, myself. But how could he leave off California Love. That was a humdinger of a tune.
My wife and I had that song playing at our 10th anniversary party (One of my nephews probably put the DJ up to it). You should have seen the faces on some of the older folks there. My great aunt, who was nearly 90 at the time nearly fell out of her chair. I just looked at wife and said, “well, we better start dancing before the police get here and wonder if it’s a party for crips and bloods”. :0
