B.o.B Breaks Down No Genre Mixtape

A few days after the release, B.o.B sits down with XXL and breaks down his No Genre mixtape track for track.

01 Beast Mode (prod. Infinity)
‘Beast Mode’ is a track produced by Inifinity and for the people that have been following the music for a long time. Infinity is one of the first producers that I worked with back when I first got signed and I did a song ‘Hip-Hop Ain’t Dead’ and he did that beat. So for me, ‘Beast Mode’ is kind of like my way to sum up everything I’ve seen over the course of this year [and] kind of like beast with it. Kind of like venting I guess.”

  1. no shit..

  2. i aint gonna be gay and say FIRST!!

  3. @ KENSHI You’re just gonna be gay and be second!

  4. Best Song, Hands Down Was The I’m Beaming Remix. If the All City Chess Club Would’ve Brought Wale & J. Cole On The Song Like All City Chess Club Normally Is, Then It Would’ve Been BLEH! Absolutely NASTY!

  5. Mixtape was very disappointing.
Too many pop songs. I miss the old Bobby ray

  6. Mixtape was dope, as soon as I get home from school I’ll be blunt cruising to No Genre no doubt.

  7. What pop songs were there? I think there were maybe 2 or 3 which is just like a lot of his past mixtapes.

  8. Lol, too many pop songs? Grand Hustle Kings has a pop chorus but such a dope beat and great verses. Cold as Ice maybe, but that’s a song about a bank robbery, not really pop. Not Lost is maybe pop, but it was released at the time of his album. Tracks like The Watchers and Dr Aden are like the complete opposite of pop. People just don’t know what to think about him because he’s so different. He doesn’t rap about the same topics as everyone else.

  9. man i just dont like dudes music. ive tried time and time again. but i guess it just isnt for me. i dont care what artist co-signs him. hes garbage in my opinion.

  10. @Umm… i know that song would be so dope if those two were on it but lupe said that cole and wale didn’t give him a verse for that song so yea idk why..

  11. mixtape is dope. I didn’t like his album. Not because it was “mainstream” as many may say, it was just NOT GOOD. his mixtapes are the shit.
