The importance of not following others, but being yourself. The message of his album is going to be more valuable than the money he makes off of it. And if anyone tries to bring up B.o.B “selling out” with Airplanes, I’ll come back and say Kid Cudi sold out with Erase Me. When artists make those songs, they don’t know it’s going to be a hit, the industry just picks those particular songs to go on albums, and the songs that don’t make albums make mixtapes.

They make him out to be some kind of prophet of some sort. It’s pretty wild when a guy (see J. Cole) has nothing but mixtapes out and no smash singles and is being compared to Tupac and other rap Gods. People are fucking dick riders. J. Cole is good but he’s one dimensional. Put him on a track with Eminem — you’ll see him get exposed and killed. I’m from North Carolina too, I know all about J. Cole. I saw him at UNC 2 years ago. He’s better than Kanye I’ll give you that…but he needs to kind of separate himself from the pack like B.o.B and create his own style. He just kinda sounds like a couple of rappers (Kanye, Cudi and Drake) thrown together. He is good for hip-hop though, I’d much rather listen to him than most of the main-stream.

I don’t mind people comparing rappers. But like Sickknowledge said, it’s pointless when someone goes onto say, B.o.B’s post, just to say that their rapper is better. Your opinion is completely invalid if you go on a Lil Wayne post and say Eminem is way better. A lot of people may think that, but shouldn’t the post be about who it’s about? Not going to bring up J. Cole’s talent into question, or any other rapper’s abilities into the equation either, but what really set’s B.o.B apart is his versatility. From just bringing fire verses on Beast Mode, So So, and pretty much every song on the album, to bringing up problems in his love life with Cold As Ice and Attraction, to talking about the problems with the industry in Grand Hustle Kings and Shoot Up the Station, to disproving illuminati comparisons of rappers in The Watchers, to doing a huge song about the flaws of government power abuse in Dr Aden. B.o.B not only switches the genres up nicely, but is just as versatile on his lyrical content. From rapping to singing, from making rap to making rock, from jumping on dark beats to jumping on light beats, from subject matter to subject matter, B.o.B is very versatile. That is why I enjoy his music, and why I really enjoy this particular mixtape.
