XV is the latest rapper to rhyme over a Kanye beat. This time “Dark Fantasy” is the beat of choice. Props to Aura.

  1. Been waiting on this!

  2. I think people should stop rapping over this beat.

The beat is ill as fuck but nobody sounds “right” on it besides Kanye. Law’s(the previous rapper to freestyle over this beat) and XV just sound out of place spitting on it.

Some beats, because of the original rappers on it, should be left alone regardless of how beastly the production is.

Example: “No Love” – Eminem x Wayne.
Cold ass beat but don’t hop on it because no one sounds right on it besides them. I’ve yet to hear someone wreck that beat the way they did and sound “At home” on it.

    Bottom line.
I don’t think any rapper out now can lyrically body this track AND match the specific tone to help this joint maintain it’s smoothness.

    But that’s just me..

  3. THOU SHALL NOT RAP OVER ANY BDTF BEATS. please tho stop

  4. @Bryce Ayyy

he posted this same thing on rapradar. he must feel strong about this subject. i dont think any beat is safe around vizzy. he’s done his thing over a few beats i didnt think could be touched. listen to 30 minute layover.

  5. What?? XV on another rapper’s beat?? That never happens…

  6. Wichita ftw

  7. “Don’t have the Kevin Hart to say it with there chest” dumb funny lol

  8. Listen XV is going to make it in the game.

and also @Bryceayyyy whats your deal you got this on rapradar too.

    MBDTF beats aren’t untouchable.

  9. *Facepalm* Plz ppl get off Kanye & his album dick, This betta be the soundtrack of jesus life how u niggas say how “classic” it is gtfo (nice album, no classic tho). Btw J. Cole killed devil in a new dress betta than Ye so dnt say the beats cnt be matched by no one else.

  10. kanyes album is a classic u dumbfucks… not because of lyrical ability or production or any of that

it’s because it’s a musically inclined production which has a lot of staying power in music as a whole… it’s catered to a broader audience…

it’s not any classic gangster rap record obviously… but this is the shit that you’re going to give your kids to listen to

  11. what i mean is it’s on another level of sound as a whole, the beats and the rhymes, singing, samples etc

  12. *sigh*

  13. XV = :|

  14. X to the V killed this. 2011 is XV’s year. Should be one of the freshman on XXL next year.

I agee though this is always gonna be Kanyes track. But XV did better than Laws on this one. GET EM VIZZY!!

  15. Year of the SQUARIANS!

  16. wow XV just went in on this I don’t care what any of you guys say

  17. i wish rappers using this beat would at least cut out the corny ass singing intro…that shit is lame as hell n a fail from kanye

  18. This is terrible
It’s a prime example of how Kanye is out to make music and most everybody else is just rapping

  19. @Bryce Ayyy
I was with you until you brought up “no love” that song sucks and mostly cause of wayne wack ass.

    @sbizzle
Lol you are a Kanye dickriding moron.

    @erer
    You are also a moron.

    @p
No its NOt terrible but i agree with the rest of what you said. But it’s just mixtape song so who cares.

  20. When XV does freestyles it’s just to show off his mic skills and metaphors…
which he does well as he shows on this and willy wonkavator…
but when he makes songs you can’t say they aren’t well produced thanks to his in-house producer Seven and good ideas and well put together…
he might not be up there with kanye west yet but he’ll be there in time. Kanye is a genius and a veteran…one day all of you idiots will b saying the sme thing about XV… mark my words…

  21. @p you fuckin retarded or somethin? vizzy goes in on this. it may not be on kanye’s level but he still does his thing on the beat

  22. I like XV but I’m getting tired of Rappers as a whole rapping over the same beats. it gets annoying in the end. There’s no point of me downloading this XV freestyle because I already own Kanye’s and a few others.

  23. his lyrics are dope. but. i think this flow would have been better suited over some alternate production.

  24. Just another punchline rapper going in and attempting to ruin a great beat. Rappers need to get there own beats and stop jacking others product.

  25. *their

  26. @p co-cockfucking-sign i been saying that for years people are just rapping and not making “music” everyone is a rapper but they can’t call themselves musicians

  27. kanye stans are retarded. MBDTF is good but it’s not amazing. College Dropout and LR was more musical than this effort. quit getting your panties in a bunch over freestyles. fashawn and xv did their thing over this beat.

  28. Good Flow !

  29. how about rappers stop rapping over other people’s beats? period? regardless of if it’s classic, or great, or awesome, or bad, or stupid, or whatever your opinion is?

also, this isn’t that good. rap to your own beats fuckboy.

  30. Cover art jacked from The Besnard Lakes “Are The Dark Horse” album. 10 points if anybody has any clue what I’m talking about.

  31. I don’t think MBDTF beats are untouchable as a whole. Kendrik Lamar bodied the Monster beat and J.Cole did the same to Devil In A New Dress. Dark Fantasy just gave you that unique feeling when you first heard Kanye on it which can’t be duplicated. XV is that dude tho don’t sleep.

  32. I can’t believe niggas are seriously arguing over rapping over other people’s beats. If niggas shouldn’t rap over someone else’s official instrumental, then all musicians should stop doing covers of other peoples’ shit. With that said:

I fuck with XV, but I think he raps over other beats because the ones he chooses for himself suck ass. I can’t even listen to Vizzy Zone or Square in the Circle with all that techno bullshit.

  33. Seven produces dope beats. Fuck, Seven> J.Cole on the producing scale. And XV> J.Cole on the rhymin side. No Hate.

Idk why this song has so much hate though? Like yalls logic of not rappin on MBDTF beats is WACK AS FUCK.

    Interner stans go kill yoself

  34. lol sorry XV is nowhere near J. Cole lyrically… Friday Night Lights >>>>>>>> Vizzy Zone #imjustsayin This freestyle is ok, but it sounds kinda boring… it’s missing something… I think it’s Vizzy’s delivery

  35. Wow. I’m amazed by the things being said here. Rappers shouldn’t go in on anyone’s beat? Ever? There goes almost every mixtape created. Some great songs are made from other people’s beats, but you probably forgot all about that. Enemy of the State [my favorite mixtape since it came out] wouldn’t be possible if we listened to your ideas.

Honestly,if it bothers you that much, just don’t listen. Do. Not. Listen. XV has made some pretty amazing songs over his own beats, so insulting his skill is kinda pointless. XV has proved himself time and time again.

    /End rant.

  36. “wack niggaz on blogs try to hate on X.
but they ain’t got the Kevin HART to say it with they chest”
    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^
    sums up this post.
    he did his thing!

  37. ^^^dopeness, but yeah lets stop with the btdf beats now

  38. When Kanye makes beats, he makes it for his OWN INTENTION. Why go on it when you KNOW it won’t be close to his? Fucking clown. Who calls themselves after a roman numeral anyways?

  39. LOL… XV the only rapper I know whose capable of dropping browser names in their song.

  40. @Kanyes fan…and the other dude.

The thing is I really feel Ye’s new album. This is my favorite joint on the record that’s been on constant rotation. I really dig this shit, the beat is fucking rugged but touching when the symphonies and music drops.

To hear people tryna touch a beat that someone already owned only to sound like their not doing justice to it is like…don’t try at all.

I’m not saying they shouldn’t touch Ye’s beat period because J.Cole made “Devil in a New Dress” his bitch. He owned that hoe better than Kanye and sounded right at home on the beat. I woulda thought the beat was a J.Cole track that Kanye remixed.
“Monster”, Trey songz killed that beat with his freestyle on his latest mixtape. I’m pretty sure other people could own that shit and sound right doing it.

I’m not saying Ye’s beats are untouchable by anyother artist but there are SPECIFIC songs in hiphop that shouldn’t even be an option when choosing to remix/freestyle over other artists beats.

“No love” may have not been the best example but there are tons of songs, none at the moment come to memory because I’m high, that shouldn’t be graced by other artists because its a “tailor made” beat that was meant for another artist to get on.

  41. everybody needs to stfu. kanye didn’t even make this beat. RZA produced it. so all the stans should be quiet.

  42. LOL… XV the only rapper I know whose capable of dropping browser names in their song.

@ jfalpha: you must’ve not heard charles hamilton’s music lol

  43. XV is the best rapper out.

    Real Hip Hop.

  44. My 2nd favorite rapper after Drake!!

    /EXISTS C-Section

  45. Who is this dude? My friend just tweeted it to me and I gotta say he’s dope. This track was better than Friday Night Lights

  46. I like XV, I got 3 of his tapes and I think he’s dope but i’m not really digging this one to much, Vizzy Zone wasn’t spectacular either…. Step it up Vizzy

  47. I totally agree with HoesOnMyDickCuzILookLikeKenMasters about how these beats aren’t ‘untouchable’. Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Monster’ freestyle is by far and away the best use of that beat.

Also, the benefit of using a popular beat is that the rappers are being judged on an equal playing field, not everybody has the production skills or producers who can make beats of such a high quality. Therefore, if they choose to use somebody elses beat, which enhances their lyrics and flow better than some shit their local DJ can produce, then that’s surely better. It also allows for rappers to be compared easily, so if XV kills this beat, then people can be like ‘wow, he did better than ‘Ye’ and people will take notice, resulting in a bigger buzz/following, increased popularity and the chance of working with better producers in the future, so he won’t have to ‘jack’ other people’s beats. Then somebody might jack his beat, the circle of life…..

  48. XV is fallin off a lil since Everybody’s Nobody,,lol @ yall getting offended over him rapping on this beat as if you’re Kanye himself or 1 of his spokespersons..you’re just a fan/stan so stfu
