Due to the fact that everyone and their mother is doing a weekly series these days, the originator has decided to end his. Ain’t that a bitch? Anyways, sit back and enjoy Crook, his brothers, Coniyac and the homie Sauce rock over the Detox single for the last installment of HHW: Reloaded. After the jump, I’ve compiled all 15 tracks, added some artwork and packaged it all nice and neat for y’all. #OKbye.

Kanye started doing it without thinking about HHW, I’m sure. No doubt Crooked is the originator, but everybody else doing it is just biting Ye. And yeah that shit is getting out of hand.
And did he really just say “swagger jackers”?
George Clooney said this on November 20th, 2010 at 4:37 pm

Crooked I said this on November 20th, 2010 at 5:44 pm
That’s unfortunate. This whole weekly series is getting a little ridiculous. Trends happen, but when seemingly everyone’s doing a weekly series (and doing them over the same beats) it’s gone to a place of unoriginality.
-
Crooked will always be the originator. Can’t wait to hear more from him whenever he chooses to release more material.
Onederin said this on November 20th, 2010 at 6:16 pm
I don’t get why he’s giving this up? How is it going to hurt him putting out music people want? It’s not like all this other weekly music is going to hurt Crooked when it’s all free anyway. SMH.

Im gonna miss this weekly shit. I think its a great idea, and i love listening to (some of) the other artists who do it, but its fucked how Crooked isnt getting the props for it. Fuck if Kanye thought of it himself, doesnt matter, Crooked was first. No real suprise though, the underground gets almost no love from mainstream. Lookin’ foward to the next trend haha.
Druggid said this on November 20th, 2010 at 8:46 pm

Thanks for what HHWR you have given us; maybe we can look forward to this next year…? Or maybe this is a joke & he gonna flood the net w/ like, 10 tracks all @ once (well, 1 could hope, lol)

Really don’t care if i got hated on for this, but I hope by Crooked stopping this series, he can work on some music that will help his career. Like for real, people will say others bit his style but they dont realize that Crooked was just the first rapper to do this. There was a Rock band that did the weekly thing before Crooked did and when i get the band name, ill post it up. second, there was the G.O.O.D. fridays and the Blue Fridays and other ones, but those other series were taking the artist somewhere i.e. i was hearing GOOD friday tracks out of niggas cars and in the clubs and on the radio. Heard “Start it Up” in the same places, but i havent been hearing ANY Crooked tracks outside of “someone’s Ipod”. This doesnt help Crooked get further in his career. Shit, even Swizz, the dude everyone knocks for rapping, has been making major moves (Aston Martin and Reebok designs to name a couple). Crooked was sooooo lucky to get a 2nd chance at his career because you XXL readers on here better not think he just showed up. You know this dude been around since like 90 something (i want to say 95 or 96). Shit, this nigga waas on the ORIGINAL DEATH ROW RECORDS! and yet XXL put him as a Freshman a couple years back. Long story short, if you’re a true Crooked I fan, encourage him to make stronger music that will further his career cause Hip Hop Weekly and “fans” downloading your shit for a year and a half isnt really doing much, man. Anything in life, you want to work at it and get so good that you can stop if you want to and you’d be good i.e. Jay-Z, Kanye, Eminem. You can hate me all you want, but i’m just stating facts.

Really??? I waited from wednesday of last week til today to learn he was quitting HHW. Damn cuz. Shit was hot tho. Where the next SH album at?
TheJacka said this on November 20th, 2010 at 11:13 pm
You whiners do realize that Kanye puts out original songs each week, not just freestyles over other people’s beats, right? Crook originated the weekly shit, but Ye’s really just doing his own thing. Now, everybody else…they’re just dickriding.
George Clooney said this on November 20th, 2010 at 11:57 pm

N0T0RI0USRAMB0 said this on November 21st, 2010 at 12:49 am
You know that’s bullshit. The reason he is ‘deading’ it is because there’s no buzz. Noone’s really checking for it or anticipating it. When Lloyd Banks and Kanye have been putting out a lot of original material, it’s hard for Crooked to compete when he just freestyles.
That time has passed. Now he needs to put out a solo album with new, original material.

SHOWMAN3000 said this on November 21st, 2010 at 4:50 am
@Niyemortal What kind of twisted facts are those. 1. We’re talking about rap not Rock or whatever band that isn’t in the same genre or culture. 2. Being around from since “90 something” is a blessing not a knock on someones career especially if they still have a strong enough fan base to survive and still be a potent mc. 3. Why would you compare established artists with mainstream success doing a weekly series (rhetorical)?
Of course any established artist that releases any music stands the chance of playing in the clubs and radio nowadays. That goes without saying. It has been proven that having “strong” music is not the reason why one gets their songs played in the club and radio and if you ever really listened to Crooked I over the years (2, 3, 5 10 take your pick) you’ll know that he has a lot of great music and music that is very compatible to the radio and clubs.
Some artist never get that “break” to the mainstream and most of them who don’t end up disappearing. Fortunately he is still relavent to a good not great but good degree and has a career still and isn’t driving cabs in Baltimore like others did when their talents seamered.

@sperm hit the nail on the head
@fuckkanyegaybitch i had to type all that cuz if i just left it as a simple statement, peeps wouldnt get the logic behind it, sorry for the wall o’ text.
@showman3000 nah not twisted at all, like i do want this dude to have success and all, but if you’ve been around since 90 something and you’re not HUGE in the game, id ask what was the point? Id rather be so successful, that i can stop whenever i want and be able to take care of my family for life, but nah i honestly feel if Crooked was to stop right now at this very moment, not only would his reach be able to stretch far financially but his name as well. When i think of Crooked and HHW freestyles, i think of Papoose. Dude dropped over 30 mixtapes and still didnt go nowhere. Maybe my logic is fucked, but for me, its either be great and conquer and dont do it at all. Simple as that.

and i deffenetly agree with APEshoes, crooks a beast but its just not the same
Glitch said this on November 21st, 2010 at 10:13 pm
@niyemortal Crooked releases remixes as well as works on albums simultaneously.
Freestyles are just works of raw lyrics and if you ask me Ye and companies punchlines and topics seem somewhat repetitive.
And I actually bump GOOD friday tracks but would much rather have them stop than HHW cause Crook always rocks and has something new to say!
And btw, who’s to say crook doesn’t like being independent??? i know i would with his fanbase!
12thLetter said this on November 21st, 2010 at 10:17 pm
@glitch I feel you, but i feel that if its a love for the game and not money thing, then if other cats are doing weekly’s, thatshouldnt stop you from continuing yours. that should inspire you to go harder than everyone elses.
@12thletter i can respect that too, so if Crooked is complacent just being independent and not trying to be up there in the echelons of Hip-Hop, so be it. I’ll just continue to strive there instead :)
Niyemortal said this on November 22nd, 2010 at 12:35 am
@Niyemortal totally agree with you on that, and for this song i gotta say its the best one yet as of the new weekly series, everyone killed it
Glitch said this on November 22nd, 2010 at 2:42 am
That blows. This hip hop series was better than his last. He is still a beast though.
warpath said this on November 22nd, 2010 at 3:47 pm
Fuck Swizz Beats and all these other leeches a lot of us weren’t checking for anyway.
Crooked was killing it once again with this series. Standout tracks so far was Light Up, Medicine, and Black & Yellow. Especially Medicine, DAMN. I cite lines from that one all the time… “And the world keeps spinning, just like it’s nothin huh”… Actually the whole verse is one long quotable.
He does release HHW type songs all the time though, like once a month it seems. Let’s see him get back to that and we’re still good.
The Real 136 said this on November 23rd, 2010 at 7:00 am
does anyone wanna mash up all the versions of this song for me? Jay Rock, this one, original, and layzie? i found one with crook, jay, nate dogg, akon, and snoop. i would LOVE layzie too. thanks.

fresh said this on November 24th, 2010 at 4:24 pm
I really don’t get the logic behind him ending his series. He’s basically saying, “Well, other people are also releasing free music weekly so I won’t do it anymore.” Sorry, that’s bitch status in my book. Whatever though, most of the tracks they chose to freestyle over were better as the originals anyway.
