On first listen, I don’t like this nearly as much as I did “The Natural,” but I’m hoping that might change with more spins.
“Right to Stay”…I don’t know what happened there. It started out as a dope commentary on immigration but then went so, so wrong…

I think you should check again G.O. It took me a few listens but he is making a point in a very graphic way. It also does not have judgement it is just the story. I think people hearing it in that way is shocking but will stick.

Who could ask for better guest spots? I’m not worried about any of them ruining a good verse and in some cases it’s possible Emilio could be outdone. Would have traded Mickey for maybe a Slaughterhouse member but I have no doubt he’ll hold his own on the track.

In my honest opinion, I don’t think this mixtape is as great as people are claiming. I don’t think anybody can really deny that Emilio Rojas can rap, but as far as making songs I think this falls a little short.

I thought the subject matter was cool, but I think a number of them were pretty similar in that, “people doubted me, but now I’m makin moves.” sort of way that everyone talks about. The song “Right To Stay” was powerful. I really appreciate him talking about something like that. I could have done without the rape interlude though. “All Mixed Up” is another good song that I think really gives you an idea of how he came up on some real life identity issues that we all tend to go through in some form.

I think where Rojas was really lacking is the hooks. They were just really…meh. I know folks on here think having good/catchy hooks is on some wack “mainstream” shit, but if you want a song to really come together in all phases, dope hooks are important. The features and singing on those hooks were really weak.

In the end, the best song on the mixtape is the song he’s FEATURED on with the bonus track of “Hold You Down.” Basically all he had to do was kill his verse (which we all know he did since it first came out some months ago), and Laws did the heavy lifting for a quality hook.

Emilio Rojas has a lot of potential and I think will continue to develop in the song making department. This is a good effort. It’s a slight step up from his The Natural mixtape and I look forward to how he does in the future. Ranting finished.

I have to disagree. I think the hooks, production value, and overall concepts are strong then on The Natural. All Mixed up, Right To Stay, and Champion are all very focused songs. Several other songs, while not as focused are topical and have great concepts.
The hooks to me are very strong. Even though simple So Alive is a great hook and to be good you do not need to be complex. To The Fullest and Look At Me Now are also great, catchy and sound good.
I think as a whole this project is well put together has some incredible production, and really shows how much Emilio has grown. Just my thoughts though.
This is gonna be what I listen to this weekend been waiting on it.

Kind of dissapointed. He’s weak with hooks plain and simple. The voice has always been annoying but some bars make up for it. Cover is horrible but fuck that music is music. I just don’t ever hear growth. Its as if all his songs get recorded in the same sessions n spread out on different projects. Maybe switch up the business team and bring in people that can help him expand musically before image. I’m pulling for him but it really is unimpressive n a bit over featured. I like when artists lile blu n ch do all their own work. But even if its with others make them others in your circle not just to put names that drown yours.

The mixtape is amazing! Once again Emilio regales us with his sharp wit and lyrical prowess. I was a bit shocked to hear “Right To Stay” at first, but listening to it again it’s a very clever track. Stand-out joints for me – “Champion”, “So Alive”, “Look at Me Now”. Bottom line….this mixtape is ON FIRE!!
