  1. do you ever write blogs/articles with an actual point or do you always spend 90% of the time bull shitting by being overly wordy and talking about things that have nothing to do with the topic at hand. you have no clue how to put an idea together

  2. nicki minaj is going to have a bad year.. well see though.

  3. @yeayou

    wow.

  4. yea thats right. please point out to me the part of the article that talks about “the art of the leak and what it really means.” if it’s those 2 sentences about Kanye/Nicki (THAT EXPLAIN NOTHING, JUST STATE FACTS) then my god that is pathetic

  5. cosign @yeayou

honestly that editorial had no point to it whatsoever

  6. Meka,

I understand your frustration with the monotonous reaction from many of your readers. Most of these commenters do well enough just to string together a short, correctly spelled sentence. Yet they bitch and moan about your writing.

But I don’t understand how you can say “nobody should ever take anything I’ve written or will write here as a literary delineation of who I really am, when in actuality I’m probably more like you, the reader, than you realize.”

Then what should we take it as?

You’re choosing to put yourself out there through your writing. If not, what’s the point? That is the burden that all writers bear. Why should it be on us, the readers, to assume you don’t stand by your words or that you’re really better, more sober or more “like” us than we realize?

(I’m not provoking. I’m really asking.)

Nobody was “bitching” about Meka’s writing. I’m not here to bash anyone or their writing abilities. When the title of an article reads, “The Art Of The Leak, And What It Really Means”, I’d like to read something that remotely connects to the title. I was hoping for something insightful, something that would further my knowledge of the subject. Yet, as yeayou correctly stated, the editorial had almost nothing to do with the topic’s title. What’s the point of a title in the first place if a coherent thesis isn’t even reached?

  8. the point is 4 loko. y’all get some rest, your gunna be ok.. regardless of a blogger.. its gunna be ok.

  9. CASSO READ INTO THAT ARTICLE LIKE WHITE PEOPLE READ INTO DAVE CHAPPELLE

  10. ^^^i dont get it.?

  11. wheres the editorial meka?

  12. @CoKane

I meant commenters on this site in general — shoulda been more clear about that.

So many people shit on articles in the comments, like “Fuck this article, it sucks.” Or “there’s no point here.” Without making a point themselves.

I actually agree with your and yeayou’s point about the title. Although yeayou’s first post is harsh. It takes a level of courage for writers, Meka included, to put their ideas (whether they’re well thought out or not) out in the world to be judged.

It’s all good to say “you have no idea how to put an idea together,” but that approach shuts down debate out the gate.

  13. I’m w/ @bigdaddystan, where is the article? Obviously some cats got to read it. Newest post on XXL for the column is from the 11th…

  14. Yo Meka! That link doesn’t work …
