1) the first half of the comments are all decrying the cover as racist. the people who check this site very very frequently and comment all the time are the type to jump to conclusions. they love spreading the gossip and are easily influenced.
2) the second half has (up to this point) has seen many more reasonable observations, including a few informed opinions with the silverback gorilla reference. this may mean that people who take a few seconds to think on things and process information won’t be offended by non-issues.
