Marshall Mathers lands the cover of this month’s issue of Rolling Stone; that hits newsstands Friday. In the cover story, Em speaks on his long battle with prescription drugs, his difficulties with women and the pain of being abandoned by his father at six months old. He also speaks on his musical comeback and his quest to score the highest score in the history of Donkey Kong. Some excerpts can be found after the jump.
Do you think it’s hard for you to trust women?
I have trust issues. With women, friends, whatever. You always wonder what their real motives are. I’ve got a small circle of friends, and it’s a lot of the same friends I’ve known forever. Right now, that works for me. I came out of some difficult things these past couple of years. I kind of feel like I’m just now finding my footing. So I want to make sure that’s secure before I go out and do anything else. I need to keep working on myself for a while.What about your love life? Do you date?
Not really. As far as going out, like dinner and a movie—I just can’t. Going out in public is just too crazy. I mean, I’d like to be in a relationship again someday. Who doesn’t? It’s just hard to meet new people, in my position.

Recovery was pretty good, but The Eminem Show has some good tracks.

Whoa… Music gets dated? No good music will always be good. Trends fade, but good music will always be around.
Honestly the media has covered Em so much we all know the details of his life so these interviews seem pointless, but I suppose to someone that doesn’t follow hip-hop they will be somewhat insightful.
Ok first of all people make mistakes so that entire thing of him saying what he said in that song were wrong but he admitted it and apologized. We all say and do stupid shit in high school. Get the fuck over it. And honestly I wish the old Eminem came back cuz this version of eminem is a fuckin pussy.
Personally, I don’t think the quality of Eminem’s music during his “comeback” was good enough to warrant this much attention. I mean, was the album an improvement Relapse, definitely? But Recovery isn’t The Marshall Mathers LP, it’s a pretty average rap album from someone capable of a lot more and I don’t think he deserves this much attention.
That being said I am happy that hip-hop has a guy selling MASSIVE records by today’s standards and keeping the genre in the public eye.

You guys are bitches if you won’t admit saying something racist at least once in your life. We’ve all said something racist at some point. And not even joking each time, we’ve all said something seriously racist at some point. That’s part of life. Growing up, understanding that other people are much different than you, and getting over the boundaries once you realize we’re all human. Some people never cross those boundaries, but Eminem clearly has. We’ve all gone through a point in our lives where we’ve felt hatred for other people.

@DontGetIt Recovery puts all other Em albums to bed. The Lyrical gymnastics he pulls off makes other rappers look like they’re wasting their time. He has never been this sharp, this twisted, this on point.
