A big part of Drake’s success is Lil Wayne. If Jay-Z promoted Cole the way Wayne did Drake things would be way more even as far as popularity goes. Bottomline is Drake is a byproduct of the “Lil Wayne Machine” that the media, internet, and teenagers have created. If Drake just came into the game on his own his bank account and life would look a lot different.
Rezo said this on November 8th, 2010 at 12:23 am

Drake is an actor. Who has his bf weezy wee write his verses. Cole is an artist who is hungry for it. I’m sure it’ll be a good overall track or tour whichever it may be, but I still feel Drake is over rated. The whole young moneys over rated. Weezy is young money. I mean it only makes sense to write lyrics for other “rappers” in a group to have a widespread fanbase.. Nicki for the girls, Twists miniature self for the kids, Drake for them canadian folk. Its true – mark my words ppl.
benny blanco said this on November 8th, 2010 at 1:06 am
You’re crazy to think Wayne Writes for Drake. Have you heard drakes old shit? I think he was better than. If anything Drake writes for Wayne
Dj said this on November 8th, 2010 at 2:02 am
Listen to Drake pre wayne jailtime, while waynes in jail (though he wasn’t flooding radio with new rap – mostly that singing bullshit), and in a few weeks when we hear more annoying young money songs. You’re crazy for listening to the shit.
benny blanco said this on November 8th, 2010 at 2:10 am
I said I like his old shit better. So I don’t listen to him as much now. Drake can rap he doesn’t need Wayne. I fucks with J. cole > him anyways.
Dj said this on November 8th, 2010 at 2:13 am
@bennyblanco DRAKE HAS BEEN OUT SINCE 06, SO SHUT THE FUCK DUMB ASS

When that collab track gets posted here there’s gonna be a c-section war between the J. Cole and Drake stans about who had the better verse lol.
YaBoyRampz said this on November 8th, 2010 at 6:21 am
“In The Morning” is a super old J. Cole song tho. I hope all the tracks aren’t like that
Boomerang Slang said this on November 8th, 2010 at 6:32 am
Why do y’all even worry about a fucking numbers, just support good music and the artist you like when it comes about. Stop that sales bullshit.
Cno said this on November 8th, 2010 at 6:45 am
@TRUTH when that days comes and they go out at my money is on J. Cole he’s still hungry he has a knack for dwarfing people on the song while drake got beat every verse on his album drake is still and can be lyrical it really depends drake has to swing back and forth cause he isn’t labeled as that lyrical deep rapper and he never claimed to be but J. Cole got branded so he has no choice listen to Talib talk about being confined as a conscious rapper it’s true drake has some melodies and talks about relationships so he was just branded but songs like “9 am in dallas” give me hope for a comeback of comeback season. Sorry for the pun.
Lucus said this on November 8th, 2010 at 8:04 am
Like I said, there needs to be another mega collab this year like forever..I thought they were going at it on the song until he said it’s “for the ladies..” Oh how I covet the day these two will go at it, so to speak.. It’s less about proving your better than the other guy, more about protecting your name…
