  1. I have noticed that site post mostly artist that have the gayest/weirdest mixtape covers, am I the only one that notices that? It seems like majority of the artist that get featured on here are not raw street hip hop artist which is a shame because that is where hip hop was birthed. The streets/hood is the essence of hip hop, yet this site just posts suburban white rappers, and black hipster rappers who like colorful covers. *shrugs*

  2. Call me a hater and talk shit all you want. Everything I said is factual.

  3. “i already used “the worst of” for a mixtape title fellow jerseyian.”

    -joseph a. buddens.

  4. Bet that nigga actually cried when the balloons got popped, half a fag looking motherfucker.

  5. Yeah post good fucking tape motherfuckers.

  6. Because a weird/”gay” mixtape cover means the music can’t be raw hip hop.

You should look at an Afrikka Bambatta or Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five album cover and think again Rezo

  7. I’m not even giving duke a shot. I feel like smacking him for some reason. *shrugs*

  8. Didn’t yall moms tell you never to judge a tape by its cover? (Even tho I dl’ed Jon Hope’s tape based on its cover alone lol)

  9. I am getting really tired of all these middle class white dudes and emo dudes trying to rap. Like what the fuck do you got to say? That’s why all these dudes do is talk about ex gf’s and how dope they THINK they are. They have nothing with any substance to say because they NEVER struggled a day in their life. A struggle for them is not getting a new car for graduation. Yes, I am also taking shots at Drake. LOL

  10. Y’all need to get over your weird and unnecessarily homophobic insecurities and just listen to music for what it is. Why does the shit look “gay”? cuz the nigga holdin a few balloons?
    motherfuckas is too damn ignorant.
it is art you idiots. take it for what it is.

  11. @MoodMuzik Yo J. Cole fits that mold along with Drake. He’s just a young hot shot without much struggle or life-experience, etc etc. And you can’t even mention emo rap without the KING OF EMO HIMSELF, Joe Budden. But that’s not the point.

The point is whether the music is _DOPE_. I think we’re all kind of forgetting that and getting wrapped up in nitpicking superficial aspects of various rappers. Just give these dudes a chance before you cast judgment yall.

  12. James Watts is dope, but WTF is this? Shit looks like one of those bootleg ass tapes that get put out by artists former labels.

  13. ^^ Joe is a WHOLE different type of emo. Joe is a raw/mentally disturbed emo. The emo I am talking about is Kid Cudi kind of emo.

  14. yall are idiots (mainly rezo).

if 2DBZ are one of the sponsors on the tape, then of course they’re gonna post it.

  15. Btw Cole DID struggle growing up, you might want to do some research on him. You can’t even compare Drake to Cole. Drake lived in a gated community and his mother was rich as shit.

  16. Yes! Hate at the dopehouse! I feel like I made it…

Love or flames, I appreciate anyone that took the time to write something…

    Thanks fellas.

  17. this nikka is alive?!

  18. ^^ Nobody hating on you dude, you’re a nobody. Stop taking pics holding balloons, you’re a grown ass man!

  19. The AMAZING RE-FIX was dope.

  20. I took a listen and its really dope…. He’s dope… really… yall needa get over the artificial aspects of the game. Its Good Music from someone without a name. At least its not bad music from someone without a name. Its dope. I’d definitely reccomend a DL

  21. BTW Million $ pogo flow remix is off the chain… Crazy

  22. ^Agreed. It’s dope music. But that cover is WACK. Whoever did your cover needs to kill them self.

  23. yall all buggin this shit is actually pretty dope, the beats are really high quality n his rhymes aint bad either

  24. @Rezo I get what you saying, I just wouldn’t put it out there like that. I have noticed this site is very touchy and sensitive. Almost everything you said in the first comment is the truth but you have to understand the demographics of this site. Most of the people here are white dudes or middle class dudes. They will attack you for a comment like that cause rappers like this are the only kind of rappers they can really relate to (even if they think different). With that said I gave this tape a listen and it’s pretty good. I just think the cover is extremely suspect and you he kind of looks like a pedofile LOL #justsaying

  25. @Rezo hahahah, First time laughs this fucking much at something I read.

  26. Yo, dude is dope. A true lyrical dude. You’re downloading a mixtape to listen, not to look at the album cover. Mr. Watts, you know you’re dope, but I was a lil skeptical of the album cover also. Lol. Oka, that is all dl, listen and then state an opinion!

  27. J.A.M.E.S. WATTS < 1. congrats on makin it to the dope house. but rezo is a troll/40 basement dweller with a chip on his shoulder thats not an achievement getting commeneted on by him

Rezo < *sigh what exactly is a "raw hiphop" album cover…please let me know..

born again -had a baby on the front of it..that was raw hiphop

  28. I just think the cover is extremely suspect and you he kind of looks like a pedofile LOL

  30. @BillyClintBackwood He does doesn’t he.

  31. Your mom looks gay holding balloons.

  32. @BillyClintBackwood – thanks fam, appreciated. I’ve been rapping since 1993 and was wondering what a “raw hip hop” album looked like.

Honestly, I was looking to do something different – I tried to make this cover actually represent something, as opposed to just being generic. Maybe I should have posed on a car holding a pitbull, or put a naked chick on the front.

The balloons and their popping represent the ups and downs that I’ve been through in music – it all seems like big party until you realize things aren’t as sweet as you thought. I didn’t know by one picture that people would be able to so easily draw conclusions about my race, socioeconomic status, and background. I That’s some wild shit to me, really.

I learned a powerful lesson about what an image can make people think about you, trust. Still, I’m not going to try to argue and defend my choice for the cover; if you want to DL the tape, do it. If not, life goes on. I’d hope that as an artist I’d be judged by my music and my character, not a picture. Also, in regards to all the claims of the cover being “suspect”, it’s kind of ironic that dudes are so hung up on a picture of another man.

    Go figure.

  33. okay listening rite now..after allllll this hate..this is actually pretty sick! beats are crazy..the first song tho..shud not be an intro lol i was like wow thats wack but played on..and yea the tape is really good.

  34. ima download and give it a shot
true music fans do that type of shit ya dig?

  35. alright, def worth listening to

  36. I’m listening to this shit, and its acutally good. Album still gay nonetheless beats and lyrics are good. Feel sorry for jimmy tho, he doesnt even smoke weed.

  37. actually* Album cover*

  38. James Watts is not just an rapper, he’s an artist… He’s crazy creative & one of the best beat makers(producers) that I know…I believe he can out rap( freestyle not written then regurgitated)Wayne, Drake, & even have a sick ass battle going with Eminem on the spot. As for all that gay talk , stfu! & cut the shit out! If you came from the area we’re raised in, you’ll know that we live in the middle of chaos & diversity & no free passes… he has every right to rap about any & everything…As far as I know “THE BITCHES” love him & he loves them back lol. Maybe next time he should have blood all over his mixtape cover like Wacka Flacka or a jail cell like GUCCI…You eike music or not? You like art or not? JAMES WATTS is a hardworking man. Kudos.

  39. @SuWoo – Riding dick eh?

  40. Seriously, the shits REALLY REALLY dope, im glad everyone finally got around to that fact… thank god

  41. this mans art is truly inspirational. he’s the best at what he does.

  42. @Batya u need a hobby

  43. holy sh*t. these comments are exactly why hip hop struggles. Rezo, ur obviously a bitter dude. Just download the mixtape already. Throw it on with your boyfriend and smoke a dick. Are balloons really fuckin up peoples days like this? i find THAT truly suspect. Whats with this ignorant bs? Just dl the mixtape. shit is actually dope and the beats are fire!! Nice job James.

  44. getting a DL just because dude was checking the site lol

  45. little jimmy is dope

  46. “I also need you to take a picture of a midget holding these balloons”

Lol for some reason this reminds me of the Dave Chappelle Making the Band skit.

  47. Same people yapping acknowledge weezy n his “father”.

  48. hell yeah I’m dl because it’s fucking free music and the guy seems cool as hell in all of his replies to the comments

  49. realistically, cover art has a lot to do with how people initially receive your project. i wouldve done this cover differently. if he had someone pencil draw this same cover it wouldve been received 8x’s more positively. and thats why you see major artists taking an extra 3-4months JUST for cover art. i wouldnt doubt shakes creative abilities but i think they (everyone) couldve done better than this simple picture… especially if the music is as good as these ppl proclaim it to be. look at the classic covers on vinyl…do you see anything similar?

off the cover art…this looks like music for my 7th grade nephew.

  50. @forgetaboutit Exactly, I mean the first thing you see is the cover. I’ve downlaoded mixtapes bought albums based on the album cover and they dope. All I’m saying is your music is good. Just put more time into the art. I’ve already listened to 12, 10 more to go.

  51. Dope beat, Dope rhymes what more do yall want…Dope project

  52. Biggie had a mother fucking baby in a diaper on his album cover.
That is all. You dumb fucks talking about “art.” Go LISTEN and actually comment on an amazing piece of work from an amazing RAPPER. Go to fuckyeahniggaswithphotoshop.tumblr.com if you need “Gangsta” works of ‘art.’ Who trolls one comment section THAT many times? What is your life? Great Job J.A.M.E.S. Production AND Lyrics on point as usual.

    -A

  53. Person above me, chill. They werent even trolling. They were having a serious discussion about how music is received based on the cover art.

  54. So the cover went way over most people’s heads… Symbolism requires a modicum of intelligence so it makes sense really that those of you with “cover issues” can’t understand it, but really… Jealousy is a confirmation of Greatness… Great Job J.A.M.E.S Watts!

  55. tbh if u look at the art it isnt THAT BAD its actually PRETTY GOOD

and what would you guys actually suggest for the cover art? is anyone bold enuff to do some alternate art?

  56. “need to dumb it down cause they aint ready for my art/
I should stop being me cause they aint ready for my smarts..’

    “Say You Will”…enough said.

  57. i can’t believe there’s so many comments just to hate on the cover.. fucking ridiculous. someone says it “looks gay” and then everyone hops on the bandwagon. you should at least have the decency to listen to it first if you’re going to say anything at all. *begins download*

  58. im not worried so much about album covers & race as i am about the music.

life as a hater sounds wonderful but i think id rather support people who make music versus those who knock it. plus james is talented as hell

  59. yoooooo mr. watts wats good dis wilson cody bout time anotha mixtape came out from you even doe i got dese songs already,,, nut anyways plz make some new shit and let miles know or somethin

  60. Yo so far this tape is actually pretty dope get pass the cover art and listen to the music.

  61. Whats especially funny is that this is a perfect example of “don’t judge a tape by its cover” it’s far from the “hipster shit” everyone is claiming it is.

  62. 1. Just cause hip hop started from the hood does not mean it should be confined to it. You mad!
    2. There are many black rappers with colorful colors on their albums too. Outkast(one of the dopest groups ever created) has a greatest hits cover in all purple with 3000 in pink and purple clothes. Ignorant!
    3. The hood said what they needed to say and we have heard it for years. There are other rappers with things to say that carry more meaning to us than what happens in the hood now. Step your learning game up!
    4. You show your ignorance to others when you say you wont listen to someones cd cause of the cover. Smarten up and realize how dumb you sound.

  63. Man…this shit is Crack-A-Lack-In like Piece of Chicken on 49th and 8th. R.I.P.

  64. I’ll download this just based off the controversy.

  65. why are niggas ALWAYS talking about the “streets/hood” and the 1st thing the do when they get some $ is move to a gated community & fuck white bitches? SHUT THE FUCK UP!!! Did LeBron get rich standing on the corner selling crack? Is Obama president because he was pimpin’ hoes in the CHI? Ignant (I know) MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!

  66. Funny thing same ppl talking “hood this n that” bump ross who is the arnold swazzenegger of rap. FAKE but as long as they bump FAKE music and FEEL GANGSTER in their suped up HONDAS they saved for at their MCDONALDS/TARGET jobs its all good.

*plays grandmasterflash -the message video* laughs @ clowns of today

  67. I know im late on this, but I’ve been a Watts junkie since my first time hearin him on that “inside a change” OST. Dude is dope, imo. Not too many artist i really fuck with on this site mainly bc i cant relate. Plus, dude’s line delivery is on point. If he ever throws a show in Ohio, I’m there.

  68. All I can say is “THE GAME NEEDS JAMES”

  69. Dude is dope, but all these gay ass “endorsements” at the end of every track make this mixtape impossible to listen to

  70. good work James.
Haters: at the end of the day though,
you niggas is at home watching & talking about James Watts.
James Watts is not at home watching and talking about you.
    FIN.

  71. James Watts is sick with it…. It’s been about a year since I’ve heard anything from him though. Those 2 minute freestyles he did awhile back were nasty

  72. Yo I like the cover its different, the simplicity of the photo is what makes it so interesting. The red balloons and the title top it all of. BUT THE MUSIC IS INCREDIBLE!!!! J.A.M.E.S WATTS! – True lyricist, Real hip-hop!

  73. Good music indeed!

  74. I’ve known James for almost 16 years and he is a dedicated emcee for real. Fk where you are from or what you look like it’s about who you are and what you have to say. There’s plenty of room outside the box, it’s time for y’all to step out and appreciate sh*t or what it is. Keep doing your think James! – Ceaze reppin the 973 4 life

  75. Excuse all my typos I have big ass hands !

  76. very dope tape
