This dude is gonna regret putting his album on hold to do “college” shows. His buzz is at an all time high and if he releases his album say January/Febuary he is going to regret it. He should have released his mixtape last month and his album beginning of November. Considering he has all this buzz with not releasing a project since a year ago just think about what his buzz would be like right now if he released his mixtape last month. Then after that dropped his album in November, that would have been his best chance at reaching his potential numbers wise. This delay is going to hurt his pockets.

@TreDeezy it is ALL about the money, I hate when some fans say that. Cole has a college degree so if he wasn’t interested in being RICH he would have a 9-5 right now while making music for the love of it. He chose the rap game to financially make what he wouldn’t be able to make working a “regular” job. Cole is no different than any other ‘entertainer’ they do it for the money/fame before anything else. Then some fans try to also say album sales don’t matter when that is beyond stupid to say. Hip hop is like a sport and going platinum is like winning a ring. If you don’t sell albums you are looked at as a failure in hip hop circles no matter how talented you might be i. e. (Joe Budden). Selling albums is the main goal for any REAL artist, only struggling artist claim they don’t matter.

But if you were there last night and saw what i saw, you’d know he isn’t ALL about the money. if that was the case he’d be doing more to make tons more. no need for a mixtape, submit the album, drop beats for artists, be featured on loads of songs, just being down with Hov makes his lane too easy to travel but the fact that he’s still being true to his craft instead of rushing or clamoring for all the money he can get his hands on, shows me something more than just a money hungry artist. maybe our opinions of his methods are different, but it’s all good. Touring expands your fanbase, dropping a mixtape before the album expands it even more. I think he’s doing the right thing. If his album woulda dropped on tuesday it wouldnt have made a lot of noise.

@MoodMuzik I strongly disagree. His buzz is def not at an all time high. I think he’s playing it right. I mean his college shows are helping him get more buzz and the route he’s going will help his album do well and not flop.
People thought I was crazy saying Cole would rake in more than Kanye’s album but if Cole rakes in alot of buzz and fanbase, besides us underground kids that know of his music, then he should rake in alot when he decides to drop it.
