It’s not even about smoking it, we gonna smoke it anyways, but if it’s legalized you can use hemp for so many fuckin things. Besides, not everyone can just get a fuckin card, especially in the rest of the counrty. The Medical laws in New Jersey are gonna be bullshit, you can’t act like you got insomnia or back pains like in Cali, you genuinely gotta be dieing with cancer or aids &shit like that. Cali legalizing it would be the first domino to fall and the rest of the country would follow, then the world.
Ooohhhh man all the political implications of prop 19 passing? Word? You mean it would create thousands of jobs during tough economic times and save the government billions in the long run from having to spend resources on arresting/trying/imprisoning marijuana-related crimes?
Sure, there will be a FUCK load of grey areas with this law because it means it’ll only be legal in california, fucking up possession laws in surrounding areas, etc… but all that will do is provide more reasoning for other governments to legalize. If prop 19 passes, there will essentially be a domino effect with other states, eventually leading to federal legalization.
The US has gone about legalizing bud in practically the best way possible (starting out using it for medicinal purposes, gradually desensitizing people to it long enough that they can eventually realize the idiocy of it being illegal), then taking slow steps to get CLEAR laws on it passed. Holland’s laws are fucked up.. the drugs are technically illegal, but the police just look the other way. This has created so many negative side effects that eventually they’re gonna have to make all those drugs illegal again. The US and Holland are moving in opposite directions. Weed will be legal in our lifetime, while it’ll be illegal in Holland in our lifetime.
PROP 19 FTW
meka make sure u got the fitted wit the green bottom..thats more vintage..
Did people even read about Prop 19?…if it does pass, the LEGAL amount you can carry on yourself without getting into trouble at any given time is 1 oz. So if this shit passes, you can’t just stroll out into the middle of a park with a ziploc full of that shit and just smoke it, lol.
Angels suck…who cares about the hat
this is for the taylor ganga folk:
taylor gang or be one of this niggas lungs smh
TaYLoR GANG or……die(???)
better voting speech than waka flocka..voting is uhhhh good LOL wiz fell off btw
weed is the most basic gate way drug if passed the usage of other “hard core” drugs will increase drastically and all the money the gov gets from taxation of weed will go back into law enforcement for the crimes thatt would be committed because of the rise in drug usage and lets not get into the battle that would be fought between law enforcement and drug cartels over the legal distribution of weed
legalize or not people dont even get in trouble for it anyways. SMH
@maddix shut up
im just feeding you the truth go get a card . . .
@maddix: Been smoking weed for a long time now & nothing else. NEVER anything else. how is your gateway drug statement truth?
there are always exceptions to every rule u think ppl just wake up and snort coke or do heroin its a gradual progression just like everything else in life ask your fav rapper lol
all you need is that bomb cali bud, and you wont need coke or heroin ;). still gradually waiting … and i am my favorite rapper.
If you a Cali resident and not smoking legally already, shoot yourself…. This ish is about 4 major companies that will control the market and produce whatever strands they want leaving us with less options. It will put the smaller growers out of business. I would advice you to vote NO, trust me a better bill will come next year. Go get your medical card, and enjoy more options. For all you folks living else where stop suggesting things you don’t know about. Some of us is doing just fine with the way things are.
VOTE NO ON PROP 19 YOU IDIOTS! What Do You Think Happened Durin The Prohibition Of Alcohol? PPL Still Made It On The Low Anyways Then Eventually It Was All Industrialized And Legalized Again. Now That Alcohol Is Legal Its ILLEGAL To Make Your Own In Some States?? Lol You Dont Think Its Gonna Be LEGAL To Smoke It But Illegal To Grow It Cuz Your Takin Away From The Major Corporations Business That Pays Out The Government. Just Like Tobacco, You Can Smoke It Perfectly Legal, But Cant Legally Grow Tobacco In The United States… Do Your Research… Yu All Are Gonna Smoke Regardless Of It Being Legal Or Not, So Boycott The Whole Thing And Realize What The Reasoning Behind The Whole Ordeal Really Is
@MrWow COULDNT HAVE SAID IT ANY BETTER, If Your Living In Cali And Not Medicating Legally SHOOT YOURSELF!!!
^Cosign AsiDidi
yup ur all idiots , weed is totally legal in netherlands, and so is soft drugs, they have more options and even breeders over there, and less crime and even less drug abusers,
the reason its still illigeal and stiff penatlys is from ole school laws that people were brainwashed from , my parents still think weed will kill u , its time to step into the 2010 people want to get high , its simple , make it legal like alchol and control it and put violent drug dealers out of buisness over nite…
I live in Cali, have smoked tons forever, and will vote no. The major two reasons for that would be that Obama has said himself they’re raiding Cali if it passes. And secondly, the bill takes away an employers opportunity to test for weed. Which would be fine and dandy if that didn’t include schools that will lose all of their federal funding if it passes (can’t offset that with job creation). And honestly, I’m pretty happy with the way things are. And no, I actually don’t even have a card… because it’s not necessary to even spend the $ for one. Cops could give a shit about weed already where I live.
@GMoney911 Oh so these violent drug dealers are just gonna hang up the guns and get jobs at McDonald’s huh? Lmao, crime would go up, bet that. Those boys will be out on the streets robbin or selling other shit.
ALL YOU OUT-OF-TOWNERS saying we shouldnt pass this: STFU please ! Since you dont know, California’s economy is in a world of shit. If weed passes: FORSURE FORSURE TOURISM money & TAX revenues. Did i forget to mention, EMPLOYMENT !!!! By the way, Schwarzenegger decriminalized weed so if you were to get caught with up to an oz. of weed, it would be the same as a traffic ticket with no arrests, which saves a lot of money (court fees, arrests). Bottom line, we are going to be saving money from the decriminalization, and the govt. will make money off of the consumers off the tax.
@maddix -.- seriously, face palm! Weed isn’t a gateway drug, you sound like a parent with some self fulfilling prophecy. Some hard core drug users are, for whatever reason, willing to try any substance, and the “gateway” drugs are merely the ones that are (usually) available at an earlier age than the harder drugs. Its not like we take a shot or take a bong rip and go hmm I need heroin. I don’t even blaze any more, just saying your an idiot.
this is all the only reason you are saying people should “go vote” there are more important things than your weed skeletor…
@ R E C K, Haktuspit, maddix, Mr. Wow, DJCosTheKid
- You are all an embarrassment to weed smokers nationwide & I sincerely hope with every fiber of my being that your hands get caught in a garbage disposal. Figures a bunch of jaded Californians would be too ignorant of the realities facing the remaining 250 million people in 49 states where; 1) you can’t get a weed card for made up illness 2) it by and large is not decriminalized 3) the quality of weed is far lower, the cost far greater, and if you do find weed that’s really good it likely came from out Cali
Do you really not understand that the only reason why there are other states with medical marijuana laws was because California fired the first shot against the feds in the mid 90′s? Do you really not see the correlation between California’s Prop 19 and the potential for nationwide legalization?
The “4 companies controlling everything” argument is laughable. Have you never heard of microbrewery’s? Just because Budweiser and Miller/Coors control 2/3′s of the beer doesn’t eliminate the smaller brewers (or in this case growers), it actually creates a niche market for them.
And yes Mr Wow, we out-of-staters will keep suggesting things to ignorant folks such as yourself, because the “i got mine” justification isn’t flying with the rest of us.
not my only reason clown, see the @maddix! just saying his counter arguments trash
DavidT if you can have an oz on you…. you actually CAN go in the park with a ziploc bag of bud and blow….. hahaha
co sign with cya and umm
@cya As far as in general goes… I’m with you, and was going to vote yes. Until I read the thing about the schools. I don’t even have kids but don’t start telling me where my vote should go so that other states get more lax drug laws when that same vote costs California schools their FEDERAL FUNDING AKA 9.4 billion dollars. I’m all about the tokers, but I’m voting no for the kids.
that gateway drug shit is bullshit. You make the decision to take any drug. i smoke weed. smoked for a lot of years. during those years sometimes didn’t smoke at all. I wasn’t tempted to do other drugs. some people just weak willed
First of all,
If you’re not from california and you’re commenting in this C-Section. Please, get the fuck out. This doesn’t concern you. I’m all for voicing your opinion, but your opinion is irrelevant here.
Anyway, i vote no for prop 19. I understand the need to stimulate Cali’s economy and all that, but check this out:
If private corporations were to get their hands on marijuana, they’re going to reap it of it’s benefits. They’re going to milk that motherfucker until it’s dry. Marlboro is set to go up to manufacture “cigarette weed”. If this is true, i’m pretty sure that they will find some type of loophole or whatever it is to taint the quality of the marijuana. It’s calculability ya’ll. Once they realize that they’re going to be reaping in the profits for marijuana, i honestly and strongly believe they will find some way to make production cheaper, therefore hurting the quality of the marijuana in some sort.
In other words, no more potent shit!!
Just my thoughts though. It’s already going to be decriminalized January 1st, why bother? An infraction ticket for carrying weed? Fuck it!
@ Haktuspit
While I’m not going to fault you for putting kids first, I still completely disagree with your argument. It’s not going to cost any school or institution their federal funding because any threat of such is 100% empty. First of all, Obama already halted federal raids for medical growers, second he cannot afford to have the most liberal/Democrat-friendly state turn against him, as well as the fallout from the rest of the country’s pissed off pot-toking liberals. And even if they tried to cut funding, California would sue and the case would likely drag out for a few years until it gets to the Supreme Court, during which time they would still get federal funding because the case would be under appeal, and all the while the rest of the country gets to watch as a weed-legalized California doesn’t explode into anarchy and/or a drug orgy and rakes in billions in taxes, making other broke states jealous and eager to get in on the legalization train.
@cya- If i came to your house and said let me in I got some weed I want to smoke with you, would you let me in without knowing who I am? Exactly, Did you even read the bill? If you think I’m being selfish for not wanting to vote for a bill that is gonna have a horrible effect on the real patients and real growers I guess I am. All you care about is weed, I care about freedom. This bill looks like candy but it is poison for so many and yes I smoke. Imagine 4 major companies deciding what you can smoke, I’m from Cali and need options homie. I’m not stuck in bum fuck no where smoking mexico weed with seeds or some home grown bull ish. Read the prop before you speak. Oakland Out……

@ asdwhaaa
This concerns every citizen in the Union jackass, it’s not our fault your too short-sighted to realize it.
“Check this out” your argument is dripping in paranoid libertarianism, which is a nice luxury to have when you live in the most liberal state in the country, although I’m sure you don’t understand what the difference between the two. You sound like a tea-party junkie who’s worried that “they” will destroy our health care in America, leaving us to fight in the street over a kidney. If “they” make a tainted weed product, then “we” won’t buy it, and someone else will be there to capitalize on our high standards of green and give us what we want.
@ Mr WOW
Did you skip over the part where I mentioned microbrewery’s? Do only 4 companies create and sell bad weed in Amsterdam? You’re worried about potential scenarios that simply aren’t going to happen. Yes I did read the bill, and I also don’t live in Oakland, where the large majority of all this “protect the dozens upon dozens of medical growers” backlash against legalization is coming from. Your vision is skewed, and your opinion is biased.
the real world out.
being born is a Gateway to being a murderer
@ CYA
Is this Amsterdam? Have you been to the Green House, Grey Area, Barneys? I been there and the weed ain’t all that and did you know that the growers out there are all connected on a level you couldn’t even imagine (POLITICS). Stop comparing apples with oranges. Cali will rip Amsterdam any day. I live in the real world and voting in it next week, what about you? Oakland is the hud for 420 in the US, if folks out here (people that come here from all over the US to learn how to grow and a city that is ahead of most cities on the subject) think that something is off I think you should listen being that the rest of the country follows, including wherever you are. What experience does your state or city have with the subject at hand. Oakland Out….
In my opinion everyone needs to shut up. even if the bill passes and this whole “four companies” thing happens and we all start smokin swag and shit it doesn’t mean there wont be the same ol growers growing. if it passes or not think of it this way. we’ll all still be smokin weed :D. I dont see a downside. it passes = light up. it doesnt pass = …light up. lol
interesting arguments being brought up…. i would hate for malboro to star making weed and then years later we find out weed causes cancer…..
NO ON 19. ARNOLD ALREADY SIGNED A BILL THAT ALLOWS YOU TO CARRY UP TO AN OUNCE OF BUD IS YOUR 21 AND OLDER!.
and even if it passes. it wont be like u can walk down a street and smoke a bowl or joint. you have to do it in your own time in a private place!. its basically how it is right now
Prop 215 FTW!
im from cali. the guy that made the medical weed bill says prop 19 is no good. it only allows ppl 21 and over to buy weed and those caught selling to minors can get like 6 months in jail and a felony charge. solution is to just get a med card
i dnt think it should be legalized bcuz then we would have to deal with government taxing and knowing our govt they may even put chemicals in it to make ppl addicted to mary jane..DNT LEGALIZE JUST DECRIMINALIZE..JET$
ANYONE WHO SMOKES WEED IN CALI SHOULD VOTE NO ON PROP 19
prop 19 imposes on medical patients such as myself by limiting their grow space and taking away their right to medicate in public.
if you dont own your own house you need permission from your landlord to grow which wont happen.
your city will most likely not even allow dispensaries and the permit to operate will most likely exceed 30,000 a year in most places.
ALL taxes go solely to enforcing new restrictions… will not help the economy in this way.
also wont create new jobs b/c there will be less medical collectives
prop 19 only legalizes marijuana from select dispensaries with the burden of proof on you, your dealer’s weed will still be illegal if you dont keep it sealed in the right jar.
prop 19 deals only with amounts less than one oz. less than one ounce of marijuana is going to be decriminalized in 2011 making prop 19 worthless in that way as well. your employer can still make you take a drug test for weed and still fire you for having it in your system. if you like weed, get your medical card and vote no on 19. PROP 19 IS A MONEY-MAKING SCHEME DESIGNED TO TAKE AWAY YOUR RIGHTS UNDER THE FALSE IMPRESSION OF LEGALIZATION.
Isn’t that Angels cap a snapback?
anyone who thinks prop 19 opposers are just paranoid read the fucking thing don’t be ignorant
I agree with T.Smith. Vote no. Shit I am.
@ Wowzers
It’s common knowledge that Oakland currently has an abundance of med dispensaries. Their massive numbers and willingness to prescribe pot for any ailment contributes to the overall perception that medical marijuana is a front for backdoor legalization. Furthermore many of these shops will lose business when legalization allows their patients the luxury of going to the gas station/corner store to buy weed instead of making appointments for ‘nightmares’ and shin splints. So no, I’m not concerned with what your buddy that runs the med shop near your apartment thinks, because he is trying to keep a business running. And you know what, that’s within his right to do so. But the idea that legalization will inhibit legitimate (or illegitimate) patients from obtaining the quality of weed they both require and are accustomed to is a lie created by med shops worried about losing customers. I support NORML, an organization who’s been fighting for ALL tokers rights for a lot longer than you’ve been smoking.
@ T. Smith
An even poorer attempt at making the failed arguments of previous posters. And instead of writing the same thing over and over I’ll just summarize by remind you that Prop 19 does NOTHING to overturn patients rights with regards to the amounts they can grow and where they can smoke. But I will single out my ‘favorite’ remark;
“prop 19 only legalizes marijuana from select dispensaries with the burden of proof on you, your dealer’s weed will still be illegal if you dont keep it sealed in the right jar.”
- Absolute nonsense/hogwash/bullshit. That “burden of proof” is what the CURRENT scenario is with regards to possessing medical weed. Legalized means legalized, it wouldn’t matter where it came from, the law doesn’t say “you may only possess an ounce of “(insert favorite strain)”. The cop would only be concerned with the possessor’s age.
Keep indulging in the propaganda though, I’m sure it makes you feel like smartest kid in the room.
@cya owned that ish… nothing left to say
@cya
copied this out of the actual prop 19 text
prohibit and punish through civil fines or other remedies the possession, sale, possession for sale, cultivation, processing, or transportation of cannabis that was not obtained lawfully from a person pursuant to this section or section 11300;
weed is not legal unless you buy it from someone with a license. doesnt say anything about burden of proof but i think its safe to assume its not on the cops… dont be a dick when your wrong : )
