  6. I’m surprise considering the fact that Jay & Kanye would be the last people I’d expect to hear on a Madlib beat. But add Pete Rock & Q-Tip to the mix. The shit is bananas.

  7. Wow. So we get 3 dream collabos on the same day!

  8. gotta be honest, this is starting to sound like its going to be really ill.

  21. Amazing all those producers and with MADLIB IS THE CHERRY ON TOP!!!!!!!!!! Big up to Kanye & Jay-Z FOR PUTTING MADLIB ON & GIVING HIM SOME SHINE WITH 2 MAJOR ARTIST’S……

  22. yeah, fuck yeah!! hip-hop’s back in this bitch!! now all we need is that kanye/doom/talib/madlib joint to go down (and jay could even through a verse on there, i’ll allow it.) is kanye even done with his album yet? it seems like he’s working on that, this ep and the good fridays joints. wrap up that LP ye!

  23. does anyone have the THREAT remix that MADLIB produced for download

  24. It doesn’t matter who’s on the beat, Ye could make the track sound whack if he’s spitting some lame shit. Truth, but I hope the track sounds ill.

  25. What/Who is Madlib?

  26. No 9th Wonder? lol

  27. So does anyone think this will become an album instead of an EP? if these two dropped an album together it would def do big numbers

  28. cosign Nas Feature

    NAS + GOOD MUSIC

Kanye spittin over Madlib is great news

  29. smh @ saga. you’re on the internet, find out you silly fuck boy

  30. @carter!

yeah, but at least madlib is getting his due shine…

i don’t wanna call it a ‘trend’, but it seems a lot of commercial artists are going to the underground to expose a lot of underrated and/or often overlooked talent…
i.e. lil’ wayne wanting to collab w/ tech n9ne
    kanye w/ madlib

i can’t think of any others right now, but at least it’s bringing these talents to the forefront that would have NEVER EVER gone commercial through the actual industry system. some fans will hate it because they’ll think, “he’s selling out” or “[insert name]‘s been so wack since they’ve gone commercial” but these people are the same artists that would have easily spent a 10-20 yr career underground for the love of hip hop… let them reap the rewards for the years of grinding they put in, however they may get it.

if anything, i think it’s beautiful that commercial artists themselves are recognizing underground talents… it shows (or at least creates the perception) that they have their ears to the streets/underground a bit more than we all think.

  31. DAMN NOW I HAVE ANOTHER REASON TO LOOK FOR WATCH THE THRONE. MADLIB IS FINALLY IN SOME HIGH-DEMAND AS HE SHOULD BE.

  32. Good for Madlib. He gets way over looked, prolly one of my top three fav producers. I can’t wait to here what him and Ye craft.

  33. this dudes spelling is atrocious.

  34. I cosign on 9th wonder on the album!

  35. All thanks to Kanye.I don`t think Jay would`ve spit over a Madlib beat on his own,but good shit anyway.

  36. i just had the shittiest day and hearing that
Jay-Z is bout to rap over a Madlib beat just
redeemed the Earth as a place worthy of living in.
    #thankyoubasedgod…

    —a dying metaphor—

  37. I can die now………. Premo, Nas & MF Doom!

  39. Jay know about madlib…and he could have been did it but that only gets you wood critics…i’m lookin forward to this more than kanye’s album now, shit…

  46. ^Cosign on that list, Andre3000 and Common would be dope features

  47. ^^ co-sign #2. Although I don’t think anyone would come up with a Huey or Scrappy feature these days. A DOOM feature would be dope too.

  48. This new Kanye West and Jay Z rap jam produced by Pete Rock sounds hot. Thats a whole lot of talent on one rap song so Im expecting big things from this rap track im sure its gonna be awesome. I hope the Kanye West music video for his hot rap song features Jay Z and Pete Rock too because that would be really cool. All of these legends of rap music on one cool rap & hip hop music video.

  49. features we need :
    Lady Gaga
    Tony Yayo
    Drake

  50. plus me.

  51. madlib, pete rock, q-tip?

Shit’s gonna sound like it was made in 1992, gonna suck hard.

  52. lady gaga? tony yayo? hahaha u jokin.

  53. madlib is nice but we wanna hear RZA on the boards not the vocals!!

  54. nice! this is good news

  55. “madlib, pete rock, q-tip?

Shit’s gonna sound like it was made in 1992, gonna suck hard.”

    shut the f*** up!
this is EXACTLY what hip hop needs right now! going back to the roots! we don’t need no more plastic beats by some untalented pop-producers! can’wait to hear the ep!

  56. im pretty sure kanye and jay- already knew about madlib jay-z is good friends with the roots so of course he knows and kanye has been givin drum samples personally by dilla so of course he knows who madlib is right now they feel like it makes sense to do a joint with them timing is everything and they are the 2 biggest rappers in the world so what better time than now to put him on to the masses

  57. add 50tyson and its over

  64. Better come right on Madlib. Kanyes versus have been absolute garbage as of late, Jay stays semi-decent though he talks about money and jelousy in almost… well every song.

    ————————————————–

    Fucking hipsters..

This sounds pretty awesome though.. And word @ FUCK features.

  70. that nigga Sega said what/ who is Madlib

-_________-” get off this post please youve been banned with such comments like tht!

  71. WOOOOOOOWW! Madlib??? REALLY???? WOOOOOOOOOW thats gonna be insane!

  72. Ye & Jay been knowing (and personally know him) Madlib, but they know their respective audiences so a collab never made sense. Jay knows how to sell records and it never included being lyrically vicious (hence the “lyrically, Im Talib Kweli” line) over an “underground” type beat. the beat has to knock in order for Jay to touch it and Mad’s beat aren’t radio friendly.
Now, Im afraid this shit could get a lil “weird for the sake of being weird”… like a Cudi joint. Lets hope they stay away from the “off the wall” shit and stick to good ‘ol hip hop

  73. @DJ Daz-One exactly bro

  74. NOW thats epic shit! I wish Dilla was still alive!!!

  75. @Carter!, hell yeah, Jay probably cant even spit on that shit. this makes Madlib a legend for working with Dilla and Hov, thats a hella of a career.

  76. Madlib aint work with these niggas. he simply gave kanye a beat tape. Kanye chose the beats and he’s probably gonna master them as well. If anything, we can only hope ye doesn’t add shit to the beat, like extra drums or sounds. I don’t know how to feel about this ye so I’ll just wait till I hear it to judge.

  77. My oh my seems like your blog dined on the first remark it turned out rather lengthy) so I guess I’ll simply sum it up things I had written plus say, I’m thoroughly relishing your site. I as well are a ambitious weblog writer but I’m very fresh to the whole thing. Have you got any kind of tips and hints regarding inexperienced bloggers! I truly certainly be thankful… By the way did you hear, about the Dalai Lama’s nephew was killed in US accident?
